I was about to order from them because I really needed the cord, but I decided to check Amazon first. Unexpectedly, this was much less expensive. Yay. Done deal.This cord is excellent. My fifth wheel's factory-installed 50A power cord is too short to reach my house, where I would need to plug it in and charge my coach batteries. Other extension cords I've used have occasionally become heated, especially if I didn't entirely uncoil them. To access the plug in my garage, I now utilize this Camco extension. Even though the garage outlet is only a 20A breaker, using the factory cord, this extension, and the dog-bone adapter to lower down to the 110 outlet is still a more effective charge and safer connection. I receive the best charge I possibly can from that outlet because the connections are clean. I won't trip the breaker in the house panel if I don't use the air conditioner or any other large appliances.This cord is expertly made. The ends are good and simple to plug in and out of. Having said that, there are some things to think about.Remember that not all cigarette lighter sockets in vehicles are active constantly. For example, most foreign vehicles tend to kill all outlets when the key is removed, whereas American vehicles tend to leave the sockets active constantly. It is therefore challenging to use this with every vehicle without leaving the ignition on, which frequently draws more power from the battery than the charger supplies, depleting the battery's charge. No one benefits from the situation.Installing a second cigarette lighter jack that is constantly on is one option for this plug. If you choose to go that route, I would recommend an alternative, also from Ctek, that blends well with imported German and Asian goods: If your jack is not live without the key turned, try the CTEK 56-380 Comfort Indicator Panel as an alternative. I just needed to borrow an electrical friend's equipment once, and that was enough. How I managed to go this long without ever utilizing one of them is beyond me. To make a really robust, secure connection, strip your wires back far enough, link them together, attach your winged wire nut, and then use your cordless drill to twist the wires together and seat the wire nut. Make sure your drill's torque setting isn't too high; if it is, the wires could break from using too much torque, or they could push all the way through the top. I am aware that is an adage. But ever since I started using it, I've truly become fond of this little gem! It was only recently installed in my car, but I've already used it extensively. It's incredible! My husband has a device similar to this, but it has a loud fan inside, which upset me. This little gem, however, doesn't overheat. There are TWO outlets total—two for USBs and two for plugs. I am ecstatic because I have been customizing my car, and one of the items I have is a dash cam, which requires constant recharging. However, I also required a USB port for my wireless phone charger because, what if my daughter also needed to charge her phone at the same time? This is certainly appropriate. I can utilize the car charger and holder, keep my dash cam plugged in at all times, and yet have another USB port and socket available for additional devices I may purchase for my car in the future.
