It's great that I finally found it because I've been hunting for something similar for a while.The power to the cigarette lighter socket in my car, where I once had a dashcam plugged in, continues to run even when the ignition is switched off. Because I don't drive very often, I was constantly concerned about forgetting to unplug the dashcam and running the battery down. As a result, I either can't use the dashcam at all or I have to constantly pull the plug in and out, which is both uncomfortable and I believe will quickly wear down the plug. With this gadget, I can now leave everything plugged in and simply turn the switch on or off immediately before or soon after starting the car.The USB ports, in contrast to the sockets, are not managed by switches and continue to function even after the automobile has been switched off. Since the USB port in my car does the opposite and goes off when the car is not driving, this is actually my preferred option and complements my vehicle. I can now charge my phone without needing to start my car thanks to this.This adapter is really functional, but it also has several other great qualities that I really like. The socket switches also control a bright vs. faint LED to indicate whether an empty socket had been turned off, and the voltage monitor gives me great peace of mind to be able to monitor my car battery status, especially since I don't drive often as previously mentioned. Although it worked fine with that size hole, you might be able to get away with something a little bit smaller like 1 1/8. placed it within a 1 "I had no trouble putting the back nut on the solid wooden dash board.tested the power draw of it. It drew 10ma when nothing was attached to it, and when it was off, my multimeter showed nothing. It's possible that something is being drawn, but it's too little for my meter to measure because my meter only goes down to 10 ma.I tested it with my phone connected in, and my battery app indicated that it was drawing 1706ma (1.7amps), which charged my phone from nearly dead to around 50% in less than an hour. I didn't get an opportunity to try it with two phones at once because I didn't have two cords available, but if it can send that much power to both ports at once as it claims, then this device is fantastic. On our upcoming multi-day camping outings, it will be a huge hit. When I have a chance, I'll probably install a second one on the boat's driver's side.I loved how the connectors and fuse were all wired and ready to use. The round terminal plugs work perfectly with the buss bar on my yacht. Additionally, it appears extremely attractive when lit, and the rubber gasket seems to be secure, so I don't believe water will seep inside. Okay, so I was cautious to order this product because some people had complained about the parts' polarity being reversed and the difficulty using 12 volt connectors. I'm pleased I didn't depend on those reviews but rather the average customer review because I had no problems whatsoever installing or using this product, not even the ones indicated. In fact, I ordered two sets, which would have increased the likelihood that I would run into a problem, but nothing happened. The hardest part of wiring the installation was getting the wires through the firewall and into the engine compartment, where I had installed my new, auxiliary fuse box. Both 12 volt plugs and both USB chargers (total of 4 ports) function flawlessly. Additionally, I decided against using the mounting plate and instead installed these independently of one another. A simple task! Despite some unfavorable reviews, this device offers excellent value for the money.

I got this product after buying a similar product on Amazon for less money and having it fail within minutes. Despite costing a few dollars more, I strongly advise making the purchase. I mainly use it now to illuminate LED bulbs that I temporarily place inside automotive cars before permanently placing into housings. I am aware that this is not "heavy lifting," but even that was beyond the capabilities of my first buy. I wouldn't be concerned utilizing it to power larger 12v powered equipment based just on the feel of the product in my hands and the quality of the material. For the sake of comparison, the initial one bought had one 2A fuse inserted and 2 1/2 "leads. sufficient for my application, however it failed in minutes as I had predicted. This was pre-installed with a 15A (often available) fuse, a spare 20A fuse, and 38 "1.5mm leads (16AWG). IMO a strong tool.

I was pleasantly impressed by how simple it was to install this plug in my car. I didn't really need anything other than what was in the package aside from the tools required to cut a hole in the plastic console of my car, strip and cut the wires, and check to make sure everything was wired properly (I did use two of my own crimp-on connectors to connect the wires from what had been my 12V "cigarette lighter" power socket to the new USB socket).The plastic nut allowed me to tighten the socket and make it nice and snug when I installed it. The rubber cover will probably be nice for covering the socket in case the blue glow becomes an annoyance or distraction at night when the socket isn't in use (and the rubber ring that attaches the cover to the socket). The blue LED ring on the socket is convenient for finding the ports in the dark.

When these two Plugs showed there, they started working right away. My cooler's power wire had failed. The cooler's cord is hard wired to the cooler, and the plug fell apart after being walked on. Therefore, A) I need a new plug, and B) I disliked stopping the truck every time. I required an on/off switch since I had to remove the plug to prevent the ice chest from draining the battery. I bought a line interrupter on/off Switch from the lighting section of the hardware shop (the kind you would have on a lamp shade for instance) cut the positive power line, unlocked the interrupter, removed the positive copper wire (1/2"), and then tightened it to the interrupter's internal terminal. Snagged the interrupter with the neutral line (obvious what to do). Cut the red power terminal from the new plug wire, removed the insulation covering it by half an inch, and attached it to the interrupter's terminal before sealing it. a try it. WhooHOO. Works. I then put the interrupter into the vehicle, flipped the new switch, and the Icebox fan worked well before turning off. To prevent the wires from being easily yanked apart, I covered both ends of the interrupter with a ton of electrical tape. There's no need for me to continually unplug the Plug from the truck. Great. It was easy and took me 20 minutes. Now that I have two electric ice chests of various sizes, I can say that I'm a "happy camper."

Review after update: I received the upgraded item, and the plug seems to be quite sturdy. Although a forceful tug is required to remove it from the socket, the plug is not damaged because it still contains the rubber piece to prevent it from falling out.It's good when products get better after receiving feedback. I'm going from one star to five stars because it finally functions as it should.Initially, I thought the device was fine. It appeared to be working after I plugged it in.I unplugged it in order to prevent it from consuming power while I was away because I was using it in a fifth wheel trailer that ran on batteries. The rubber-plastic component that holds the plug firmly in the outlet remained in the outlet. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the plastic piece that screws into the end of the plug was torn out when the force of the rubber retaining ring on the outlet's grasp caused the two sides of the plug to slightly split. I put it back together, but I was unable to rely on it to stay together, thus I returned this product due to its serious design flaw.

Since my cap was damaged, I purchased this. It's a little challenging to comprehend the installation. The plastic/chrome has a tab that must be pushed out from the inside. The new one quickly inserts itself once it pops out. I watched a video to learn what I was doing incorrectly, and that took me longer than just popping it back in.Be aware that removing the old one will leave you covered in chrome fragments. My Avvy appeared to be covered with glitter meant for strippers.If you don't know, you can't tell that the new one isn't nearly similar to the factory one.

I've used it for 4 months and couldn't be happier. This unit, which features ON/OFF switches for each input, not only saves plugs and the adapter itself a lot of wear and tear by not requiring users to remove battery-draining gadgets after each drive, but it is also more convenient. The controls and inputs are all illuminated, which makes operating it at night or in a dark garage less of a hassle. This device also comes with a battery voltage monitor.
