About three months ago, we relocated to a new home. Since we won't be using our new AC unit outside for the remainder of this year and the winter's bad weather, I decided I needed to get an AC cover to protect it. I'm very glad I bought it! It keeps the air conditioner tidy and safe, and it is thick, substantial, and well-made. It has some adjustable straps that can be used to secure it to the air conditioner. Outside my condo, I recently had a TRANE XR14 AC Unit put. Late November has come. My new TRANE AC unit fits well on top of the 36X36 size I purchased. In the spring, summer, and fall, it may become quite hot where I reside in the Las Vegas region, but I actually enjoy the heat. I won't start using my air conditioner until May. I won't have to worry about leaves, white pollen, sticks, small branches, and other small debris getting into my AC Unit and clogging it up from late November until May if I use the STURDY COVER AC DEFENDER to cover it. The bungy cord ends were too broad to pass through the vents of my AC unit, which was the only disadvantage. But no issue. At a nearby hardware store, I purchased four black bungy cords of the same length, each with smaller ends. The bungy cords were reasonably priced, coming in just under $3 each. Revision: 11/27/15 Since we keep the cover in the garage and have only recently placed it on in preparation for the first snowfall, it is still in excellent condition.This item, which I bought three months ago, seems to be of very high quality. Although it is a little big for my air conditioner, the bottom cinches appear to tighten it up just so. In the high desert where I live in Boise, Idaho, we occasionally get snow and rain, but the weather is often dry. I believe it will perform well for me and maintain the health of my air conditioner. I would only change the size adjustment feature to make it fit a little tighter. This is more of a matter of taste than of necessity. I can tell the device operates quite well. I don't think you'll be let down.Revision: 2/17/13: Since I bought it, there has been a year's worth of cold weather and many inches of snow. Our in-wall air conditioners were being covered by a drop cloth and a box, but my husband detested the way they looked. This is a fantastic answer. We have a HOA and reside in a condo with built-in air conditioning. This is an excellent way to reduce drafts and tighten our "building envelope" during the colder months since we can't remove the units (and I wouldn't even want to). Although they aren't really essential because it fits so snugly, I adore that they are present for that additional tightening. You can just throw them in the washing machine, and the fabric is very simple to clean up with a moist cloth.They are doing well considering the price. Just to let you know, they're a little bit whiter than what was advertised. Although the cable hole is too small for our units and they aren't as thick or insulated as I would like, they are still a good deal at $18 each (compared to a hard cover, which appears to cost around $50 each!) It makes me joyful, and my husband agrees. I have 3 for each of our air conditioners.

Groundsheets made of our Duck MAX Strength Heavy Duty Insulating Film are incredibly lightweight and strong. The 10' x 7' size is approximately ideal for our family's camping needs (two parents and three children under the age of eight), and it helps to keep dirt and debris off of our sleeping bags, clothing, and sleeping pads. While it does require some caution to prevent punctures by removing sharp rocks and protruding sticks before you lay it down, it is much more durable than one would anticipate (and much, MUCH more durable than the flimsy Saran Wrap-like material people tend to think it will be if they haven't tried polycryo before) and it is also incredibly simple to patch with packing tape if a puncture does occur. It is considerably more packable and compressible and weighs about half as much as standard commercial grade Tyvek. Additionally, this Duck MAX Strength film is twice as thick as the polycryo that many ultralight campers use, which is typically 0.75 mil or perhaps even 0.5 mil thick. When I'm hiking with kids, I like the increased durability that this double-thickness film offers than a thinner film, which I may do if I were backpacking alone. Additionally, the price is excellent—much less expensive than Tyvek in the same size as well as less expensive than the prices charged by some ultralight hiking shops for their "special"/rebranded versions of polycryo. This is just as nice as any of them and is more lasting than others due to its double thickness.

My AC is 24x15 and ranges in depth from 4.5 to 4"; the manufacturer recommends a 17x25x4 fit. There is definitely no allowance for a cord, as others have noted. A velcro eyelet would have made the process of installing the cover considerably simpler. I couldn't stop there since my AC cord extends too long. The cover was barely holding onto that corner and wouldn't even stay on. The cord had to be folded, wrapped the entire length of the bottom, and placed inside the cover.A generic cover for a range of sizes either needs a LOT of strong elastic or both velcro for a loose fit and elastic for a tight fit, which brings up another point. I'm certain that I would be hanging this up again every day if I hadn't hid my chord at the bottom. Even without a wind blast, I don't think gravity alone could break such flimsy elastic. Instead, I'm going to secure it using weatherproofing tape to match the rest of the window protection I've already applied.

You can tell this film is roughly twice as thick as standard Duck shrink film right out of the box. There are a few of my windows that draft more than the others. These people will enjoy this movie, and I will continue to watch it. Although the tape appears to be the typical Duck window tape (which is included with the regular film), it holds just as well. This film is slightly less glass-clear than the thinner film, but the difference was negligible after the curtains were drawn again. I can't notice any difference at all between the standard film and this thicker film from the outside. That's good news for me because I don't want the location to appear overly staged from the outside. I've used and enjoyed 3M window film in the past, but Duck is my preferred brand because it offers comparable overall performance at a lower price. I'm thrilled with this purchase. I'm grateful, Duck.Make sure you follow the instructions when it says to "remove tape at end of heating season." The more time that passes, the more difficult it is to clean the tape residue off the window surface. White vinyl makes up my windows. If I leave the tape up too long, though, things don't usually come off the surface as easily. The gluy material begins to take on a semi-permanent form. This process appears to take several months or even longer. I would estimate that it takes this to begin around 8 months. The precise length probably depends on the temperature, humidity, UV from sunlight, etc. I've had film on windows I never open for up to three years. In one case, the film finally released go of the tape, but on two other windows, it continued to hold. The film was only necessary to be removed because it was quite unclean. I would have left the film in place and just cleaned it with window cleaner
