It has a good quality suede backing and seems much more expensive than it actually cost.STYLING – The logo is simple enough, albeit a little huge. Actually, I somewhat enjoy it. The black leather looks fantastic with the red contrast stitching, which also won't show dirt as much as white stitching would (part of why I chose the red).I'm happy that I decided to go with a double buckle. The buckle is extremely durable without being overly large or hefty. Even when I have a little extra flab in the middle, it fits well and doesn't pinch. I believe that even if I put a lot of weight on it, the buckle wouldn't break. To avoid the inevitable chilly shock when the metal buckle contacts exposed skin in the event that my shirt rides up, I do wish there was a small leather flap behind the buckle, as I've seen with a few other leather lifting belts.FIT - My real waist measures 30.5 inches when measured around the navel "I chose a small after measuring it without tightening the tape. I tighten the belt during lifts to the third set of holes from the end, which seems to strike a good balance between making it difficult to breathe and exerting just the right amount of abdominal pressure. The second set of holes is perfect if I'm wearing the belt over a bigger top or coat.Performance-wise, I immediately noticed an improvement in my exercises, especially my squats. The belt maintained my form tight and provided for amazing intrabdominal pressure. I immediately added weight to every lift I did. I've used the belt for squats, deadlifts, and overhead presses so far, and during max sets, my form feels much more secure. I originally felt a small pinching during deadlifts, but after fiddling with the belt's position, it no longer seems to be an issue.Overall, this leather lifting belt is really sturdy and well-made. The belt stock already has 30 inches of chain, and I've added 12 inches more of the same chain, bringing the total chain length to 43 inches, including the "Quick Link."
