The paper is placed upside-down so that the "wood" is horizontal. Since the sheets are so long, it would have been quite difficult to complete this alone. I offer this product five (5) stars since it is a great value, the finished product looks far superior to the "before," and it was easy to apply (although I only give myself three stars for application because I rushed). Before finding this, I searched for alternatives, but everything I found was far more expensive. This product is actually quite cost-effective! I regret not having taken a photo of our TV stand "before" it was renovated. Basically, the finish on this over 20-year-old TV stand was coming off in some places (it was previously also a film). Because of the stand's strong construction, its heavy-duty wheels, and our desire to keep money in our pockets, we decided against purchasing a new television stand. Before starting the project, I first gathered my supplies, which included a pen or pencil, scissors, a rotary cutter (or a utility knife), an 18" Draft n' Cut ruler, a Phillips screwdriver (to remove the glass from the doors and then reinstall it), and a squeegee. I bought the size 17.71" x 78.7" (not the smallest nor the largest, but the midsize roll). Fortunately, I had enough film because I simply covered the front of the doors, excluding the glass, of course, and the lower piece on the front of the stand (and even had a little left over). Happy to say, the black coordinates and the TV stand as a whole appears very balanced because the glass area of the front doors is black and the TV that sits upon it is likewise black, despite the fact that the TV stand was formerly coated with a dark grey film. I couldn't be happier with this product's purchase!

I just received the three rolls I purchased yesterday, so I haven't used it yet. It appears to be good adhesive paper quality; it is not at all fuzzy as some reviews have said. However, I must admit that I find the photo to be a little misleading. The hue appears to be a grayish-white plank wood, which is why I bought it. On a pale tan background, it is actually tan and brown. The color should probably be mentioned in the description. Not exactly how it seems in the photo, but still quite lovely. Unfortunately, the color prevents me from using it for the project I had in mind, but that doesn't mean the product is defective. Maybe I can utilize it for something else in the future!

I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. How to use the instrument and the appropriate amount of pressure are specified in the instructions clearly. On each of my walls where I wanted the paper removed, I used just one of them. That includes a restroom, a wide dining room wall, and a kitchen table space. It never put too much strain on my walls and it didn't break as other reviewers claimed. Actually, I've put it back in my garage toolbox for later use.Just keep in mind to not exert too much pressure so you only slightly penetrate the wall paper with the scorcher to allow the water to seep in.You can see all the walls I worked on with this tool in my images, as well as a close-up of the tiny holes it makes in the wall paper, which will help you better understand how the tool operates. Please follow the instructions carefully, use very little pressure at first, then gradually increase it until you see results. Any higher pressure may cause the tool to break and will also cause you to penetrate the drywall behind the paper. If you can still obtain the results with a lower pressure, then that is the pressure you should use consistently.I used this equipment to burn my walls, and then I sprayed only hot water on them, section by section. While a sponge would work, I chose to use a water bottle. I then carried out this action once more after waiting 15 minutes. The paper was considerably easier to pull as a result, and it simply peeled off. I couldn't picture it being any easier without this instrument; in some places, I had to use additional hot water and in others, I had to use a scraper. After that, I used a large sponge and some dish soapy water to wash the walls to remove the glue.

For a small window space in our sunroom, we required some contact paper with a wood grain print. The print nearly matched the walls' light cedar color. As a "band-aid fix" to refinish a desk, I gambled and bought this initially. I had searched through store contact paper aisles, but all I found was paper.I ended up liking THIS product so much that I bought extra and used it to refinish my kitchen countertop as well. It is essentially a thin sheet of vinyl (?) with adhesive.If you want to modify the appearance of your counters but don't have the funds for a full makeover just yet, this is highly advised. Like a genuine countertop, it can be cleaned with dish soap and water.If you take your time throughout installation, there won't be any problems. To smooth this down and remove bubbles, some advise using a credit card or another hard edge, but in my opinion, using your hands works better.

I redid a dresser and an entertainment center, both of which were brown and matched the floor. I'm sorry I didn't take before and after shots; I didn't think of it until after I started. I love this grey contact paper. The end result is grey, and I painted the brown knobs on the dresser and entertainment center silver. I adore the style. The pink I ordered is precisely how it appears in the pictures. It's lovely and opaque, and I used it to cover some extremely dark brown furniture. It's still almost as bright as it was when it was still on the white backing. The included image was taken at night, so the color isn't as accurate in my photo as it is in person.I would highly recommend a squeegee because it made the process faster and easier and made it appear as though I had purchased the furniture in this manner. I purchased three rolls and a cheap squeegee to aid in application. Three rolls worked well for this; I still have a good portion of the third roll left but haven't finished the insides yet. If in doubt, pick up an extra roll.I've had it on for more than a week, and so far, it's holding up amazingly. I'll probably update this in a few months to see if it keeps holding up so well; I have every confidence it will, and I would definitely suggest this brand.
