Considering that I've used at least five different kinds of paddles throughout the years, I do feel somewhat qualified to provide a comparative analysis. Our group is divided into several lanes, and after moving up to the second lane and passing the novices, I am in the second lane. Theoretically, this would raise resistance and aid in boosting thrust and propulsion. The drawback of this is that the effort and resistance must also rise proportionately. I rapidly become exhausted while using such a big, flat paddle and can't utilize them for too long. A contoured paddle's main benefit is that it resembles the hand in terms of size, shape, and form. The fingers can spread out in the "Goldilocks zone," which is the best natural posture for swimming, thanks to the sculpted grooves. For the middle finger, a very cozy central strap is present. By obtaining right shape, adequate touch is maintained. Contact could be lost if the hand enters the water improperly or sideways. For a learner like myself who is having trouble finding the proper hand posture, this is truly perfect. What I like even more is that I was able to use the paddles during our most recent hour-long swim match. I am fairly convinced that the paddles assisted me in intuitively adopting the ideal swim form during all phases of my stroke, including when streamline off the wall, even though I did felt like I had to exert more effort than I would have without the gear. I usually get tired during the longer intervals and may not be able to maintain the pace. But during the most recent swim session, I was able to not only keep up with everyone else but also to position myself in the middle of the group. Even then, if I concentrated while using the contoured paddles, I occasionally noticed that I was moving more quickly than the person in front of me. With the help of the paddles, I have improved my pull phase of the stroke, and I can now feel my body floating forward both during and after the catch. I can glide farther with just one arm extended forward without the paddles getting in the way or creating too much resistance. A speedo neoprene glove was another kind of paddle I've used in the past. Although it is soft and form-fitting, it does not offer enough surface area or a rigid flat panel to exert the best pressure, despite being comfortable and form-fitting. The finis paddle can occasionally be painful, and because each finger is not as individually molded as they are with this one, the fingers are not actually forced into the optimal position. The contoured swim trainer, as seen in the image, has numerous small perforations throughout that help keep the effort from being overbearing or very difficult. This may be the reason I was able to continue for an hour. During the morning swim, one of my partners inquired about the paddles I was wearing, so I let her use them for a lap. She, too, was ecstatic about how they felt and expressed a want to get a pair. In a nutshell, these paddles are fantastic—possibly a game-changer for me. They've helped me restore my resolve and will let me to focus on perfecting my stroke and form. They provide the ideal level of resistance for a thorough and prolonged workout. These were purchased as a standby for my kayak in case I misplaced or broke my paddle. Small enough to fight without thinking in the stern of my boat.The paddles have been utilized for both swimming and kayaking. When swimming, I didn't feel very attached, like I had much more purchase than usual, and snorkeling was hard because your hands are always dragging in the water.However, kayaking is really nice. With these in place, I have no trouble hand-rolling, and they stay on the hands extremely securely (but they are still simple to take off if I need to pull my skirt).The straps appear to be sturdy and haven't really snapped or come loose from the paddles. So far, it's been a terrific product for my needs.

Update: The I.M. Tech paddles originally evaluated below do not currently fall under this complaint about Speedo paddles. I also own two additional pairs of Speedo paddles, both large and tiny, which provide additional resistance for the Tech Paddles. After a few months of sporadic use, the wrist retainers on both pairs disintegrated. Of course, while putting them on before going swimming, it is the worst possible time. The Tech Paddles probably won't perform any better. The expense of fixing them, which was a significant portion of the paddles' original price, was surgical tubing from Home Depot. Either Speedo should be able to provide tubing of higher quality, or else they should be able to identify the issue and provide replacement tubing together with the original product.I swim 1.5 miles of laps every day, 3-5 days a week, for cardio and exercise. I'm 67. When we moved to a town with a heated 25-yard pool on the Texas coast for the winter instead of a good gym, I started swimming laps. I initially purchased two round Speedo paddles in sizes large and small, which I used for two years. They were excellent for the freestyle crawl, but not for any other movement, especially the huge, which provided great resistance. I ordered the big Tech Paddle as soon as I saw an advertisement for them. Compared to any of the rounded paddles, they provide excellent intermediate resistance and are simpler to use while swimming. Even though I still freestyle for my mile and a half, I have tried the other strokes and discovered that the Tech Paddles perform as promised for all of them. Highly suggested.

Although I haven't tried them yet, even if they function flawlessly, the frustration of trying to fit the rubber tubing through the holes would only be good for 3 points. Although it's a pain in the butt, it IS possible. three times ripped the tubes' ends. In order to prevent the tubes from being sliced, I had to kind of ream out the hole and smooth out the interior with a chopstick. Maybe it would be much less frustrating if you did that first.Update. I gave them a star since they function properly and considerably better than the speedo ones I've used. However, fill those holes.
