With solid wood and professional hardware, you can start bagging like a pro. Remember that I updated my platform from the 1/2 inch particle board my stand came with, so this is a DIY project. I purchased 6" 3/8 carriage bolts and bored out holes to match the stand. Great results!

The platform's instructions, as other reviewers have noted, should be much better, but with a little investigation, it is easy to see how everything goes together. The weight is where the real difficulty lies. This unit is HEAVY; it would take three people to move it (2 to hold the unit up, 1 to screw it in place). I decided to attach the top part of the frame first, then the rest of the unit, before screwing everything together.You may need to mount some cross planks onto your studs because the insertion holes do not fit onto conventional 16" spaced studs (they are spaced at 17"). The item comes with a set of wood lag screws and concrete fasteners. This item is too hefty to be wall mounted directly. I mounted the frame on two 36" lengths of 2x4s that I strung across three studs.This unit's mounting requires a lot of work, but it is worthwhile. The frame withstands the vibrations of a vigorous speed bag session quite well. The swivel becomes loose where it is screwed into the unit, so you might want to think about covering it in some thread seal tape. That is the only problem I have. I bought a Title speed bag, which I used right away, so I cannot comment on the provided bag, as others have written about the subpar bag that is included.

Actually, I give the item five stars. It's fantastic!But I only gave the instructions a two or three star rating.I know how to follow visual instructions because I have assembled a lot of ikea items. I intended to mount this on a masonry wall, but no masonry screws nor masonry-specific installation instructions were included. The shrink-wrapped nuts and bolts for a stud wall installation, together with the good equipment needed to put them together, really impressed me. I did ultimately mount the unit on a stud wall, but I can assure you that two persons are required to lift this monstrosity. I also advise the maker to print a grid on the cardboard for the two wall-mounting brackets. Additionally, it was not advised to drill the holes in advance for the huge screws that go into the wood. I ultimately contracted out the assembly, and I'm delighted to report that it's fantastic! incredibly thrilled, but a newbie could easily slaughter the crowd.I should also mention that because of the platform's weight, adjusting the unit's height by moving it up or down could be hazardous.

This was easily installed by me, and it is truly rather simple. I do wish that the two vertical rails would be sent squared off with a horizontal welded beam or something to maintain it straight. A somebody who isn't particularly handy, like me, has a hard time aligning 2 rails precisely. is less than seamless in their adjustments. Consumers will find the device much easy to use with a straightforward weld.OK, enough complaints. This platform looks wonderful after being stalled. The hardwood is beautifully polished and appears to be natural. The overall aesthetic is superb. I've noticed reviews where people criticize the swivel. I enjoy it. I'm glad I refrained from buying a different swivel. Although there is some vibration, it is not bothersome to me. There are no vibrations at all now that I added 50 pounds of sand on the top. In my boxing gym, a specially designed platform with a 3 inch thick platform that is screwed directly into a steel wall is the only one that has zero vibration.

Although expensive, this device is fantastic. Since the steel frame is heavy enough and the board is thick enough to minimize noise and vibration, nothing needs to be placed on the board to accomplish so. The pricing and the poor swivel are the two drawbacks in my opinion. The swivel is good for novices, but if you're serious about honing your talents, I'd suggest getting the lightning-fast pro swivel from Title.

In order to acquire the same level of quality and response from a piece of hardware, such as this speedbag platform, one would generally need to pay much more money. It comes with everything you need to put it together, but you'll need a wall mount and wall mount screws to attach it. The lack of a wall mounting wasn't at all problematic for me; I just made up for it by going out and buying the appropriate supplies, which I did for almost $5.00.The included swivel and speedbag are undoubtedly adequate additions to the system, but given my prior competition experience, I opted to purchase a more professional swivel and bag. However, I will continue to preserve each of those things as a backup in the event that something were to happen to my present and preferred setup.For me, the hardwood platform was the main reason I purchased this setup; everything else was merely the cherry on top. I am totally delighted with my purchase, and I would unquestionably advise you to buy this product with confidence if you're considering doing so. You'll be delighted, I promise.
If you're just starting out with a speed bag, you don't need hand wraps. Just use your regular boxing gloves. Once you get more advanced, you may want to try using hand wraps to help you increase your speed and accuracy.
