Inspire Fitness Ft2 Functional Trainer Review:


This is the third home gym I've bought (the first two were a Vector home gym and a Life Fitness G7 functional training), and after having it for about six months, I can say it's by far the best. I looked at all of the functional trainers for approximately 3 months, and this one was superior to anything else at the same price point for the following reasons:1. It can support 420 lbs (210 lbs in plates, with a "double weight" setting that works great). I should point out that I bought the heavier stack in addition, which is why I mention 210 lbs instead of their recommended 150 lbs. For certain of my exercises, my G7 only went to 150 or 160 pounds.2. When you start using heavier weights, it has a stationary bar for the bench press, shoulder press, shoulder shrugs, and triceps extension, which is preferable to utilizing cables (the G7 has a bar, but it's linked to nothing but the wire, which causes it to move around).3. It has a leg extension and leg curl attachment that is available as an accessory.4. The FT2 isn't very tall or wide, and it has more attachment points for the hand grips than other functional trainers, including immediately over your head and on the ground between the stacks, which is helpful for me because I'm tall (some of the other functional trainers I looked at took up a much bigger footprint)Only two very minor issues bother me. When lifting 180 lbs for leg extension, the cushioning on the leg accessory shin pads is insufficient (I rectified the issue by securing $20 knee pads to their pads). On the bottom of the bench supports, they utilize a coating or cloth that peels off for no apparent reason, leaving a sticky substance that stops the bench from sliding on hardwood floors.*** First Update ***Despite having used it for more than a year, I still think it's a fantastic functional trainer. I'm in the best physical condition of my life. Here are a few more things to consider:1. Their leg strap is merely a single Velcro loop, which is unimpressive and not nearly as nice as the one that came with my previous G7, which has a full strap around the ankle (no Velcro) and a supportive strap under the foot to prevent the strap from moving up your leg when performing leg curls (I ordered the strap from Life Fitness, which connects to the FT2). I experienced back pain while performing leg curls with their stationary leg attachment (not the leg strap previously mentioned), which I believe is due to the leg attachment sitting higher than your back (when laying face down on the bench), which causes your back to hyperextend in the wrong direction. It's difficult to describe, but imagine the person at the bottom of the photo trying to leg curl 130 pounds; the strain on the back would be immense: 4. After owning the FT2 for about 9 months, the bench's covering started to split. They gave me new bench pads (at no cost), which took about 10 minutes to install. I believe they understood this was a problem because it appears that the additional content is of greater quality than what was included with the original FT2.Second updateI agree with the criticism in another review that Inspire lacked adequate instructions or a mobile app to help users grasp all of the exercises at the time of purchase. Fitness Buddy: 1700 Exercise Workout Trainer is a fantastic software that I've been using because it allows you to filter the exercises to only show those that involve "machines." I'm not sure if it's available on Android, though. It's wonderful to learn how to operate the FT2 because they use a method quite similar to the FT2 in their photographs. Due to FT2's bar, you may now add some of the "Barbell" routines from the app.

I guess you could say that I'm one of those people who makes incredibly challenging purchases. There are some things I search for that the average shopper wouldn't even consider important. When the equipment was delivered, I encountered a few issues. The left guide rod collar had been harmed during shipping. When elevating the bar, the guide collar would become stuck since the rod had an improper size due to the bearing coming out.I reached out to Deltech Fitness right away and had the most wonderful and efficient customer service experience! The two guys who responded to my concerns the quickest and with the fewest questions were Brian and Craig. I waited patiently for my parts, which came in two days. They deserve a large "Thank You" for their fantastic customer service, and as a result, I heartily endorse their goods. They stand by it and are concerned with keeping their customers happy. They transformed this $700 buy into a $1,000 one.So here is what I think:As was already mentioned, the item had some packaging damage. If you aren't delivering it on a pallet or via freight, the packaging is usually not the greatest. FedEx delivered it to us, but the driver was slack, so I had to essentially bring more than half of it in by myself. You can only imagine the attention it received before coming to me. Yes, there were minor defects to the rubber parts and paint scratches when I opened the boxes.Machine quality: The machine is far better than I had anticipated. The bars are sturdy because of the bearings that make them rise smoothly, and because they are heavier than standard smith machine bars. The structure is beautiful and sturdy as well, not too hefty, but adequate for a home gym. Once it's completely together, it weighs roughly 200 pounds.The machine does tremble a little, but not enough to cause it to move. It will tremble if I perform pull-ups, and it will tremble a little if I move the bars quickly or purposefully try to shake it. However, I don't feel unsafe, so I don't think this is a problem. It is what you would anticipate from a machine meant for domestic usage rather than business use. I added 250 pounds of plates, which helped a little, so maybe adding the lat increase may assist.I'd have to mention that the machine's powder-coated paint isn't the best. It will easily scratch off and flake. But since it's gym equipment, this shouldn't matter too much if it's going to be used frequently. It would have been preferable if the catches had been painted-free because the paint would wear off as the hooks continued to cling to them.Installation: Much more agonizing than anticipated! The instructions were mostly clear, however some of the phrasing regarding left and right might be confusing. Make sure the square pieces are on the outside, just like the two leg parts at the bottom, or the rod won't line up straight. Next, pay close attention to the graphic representations to determine where the bearing on the rod should be placed. It was not enjoyable for me to have to disassemble it twice. The machine must be assembled using numerous bolts, nuts, and washers. While some of the components may be stronger if they were welded, this is not a commercial machine, so I understand. Placing the lifting bar on the rods presents the most obstacle. Since I'm not very tall, I needed assistance from another person to position the bar so that it would glide down the rod. I attempted to install it on my own, but holding up the bar with the bearings was difficult. I would suggest using two individuals to attach the rod because it wouldn't remain straight. You might be able to complete it on your own if you are taller than 5'8.:)Make sure you wait to tighten all the nuts until all the bolts are in their appropriate holes if the holes aren't aligned.Overall, it's a really wise investment. I doubt you could find a machine that moves this smoothly for $730. The pull-up bar is a nice feature. I am so pleased with the customer service I received that I am at a loss for words. Even though I've only used it once, I'm glad I made the purchase. I was able to acquire my first job yesterday, and I can't wait to work out again today. I hope my review is useful to anyone considering purchasing this product.

This really is a whole gym system! This beast is unlike any hotel exercise center I've ever seen! I use my item every day and am extremely happy with it. I've been working out for the past five years, and I take my workouts very seriously. I might even be fitness-addicted (hey there are worst things to be addicted to). Apartment gyms weren't cutting it for me soon after I received my undergraduate degree, P90X started to irritate me after the second month, I had mastered insanity, and Focus T-25 wasn't sufficient. I became serious and joined Gold's Gym. After going for more than a year, I realized I could save considerably more money by getting a home gym. I turned a room in my home into a home gym after I bought it, and I haven't looked back since. Well worth the cost and investment... It's ideal for all body part training; I work out six days a week. A P90X crazy multi-purpose pull-up bar with ab straps, some free weights, and a treadmill or elliptical (depending on your preferred cardio system) and you have a seriously credible home gym that outperforms some hotel fitness centers. When you consider it, that is saying something!

Don't be scared off by those who criticize the assembly instructions; this gadget is fantastic. This machine is simple to put together. Additionally, 5/16 bolts, washers, and lock nuts can be used in place of the compression pins, which serve as stops to keep the bar from spinning and about which some have complained. Simply get two of these from the hardware store and substitute them for the compression pins. I'm not sure why they initially didn't include nuts and bolts.The only issue I had right out of the box was with one of the plate carriages, which had the linear bearings seen below, and would not move along the stainless steel rail. I had to urge it to slide because when I slipped it over, it simply hung there. There was a clear issue with the carriage assembly's bearings (which there are two in each assembly). Valor originally offered to send me the two bearings that are inside the carriage assembly after I informed them of the issue. An instrument called a compression ring pliers was required to extract the bearings. I tried to remove the compression rings with a compression ring pliers before I agreed for them to only send bearings, but I was still unable to get the bearings to slide out of the carriage assembly. Therefore, it is not as "cut and dry" to remove the bearings as one might believe. I spoke with Valor about this and asked if they could tell me how to get rid of them, but they were unable to do so. So they ultimately sent me a brand-new assembly.When compared to other machines, this one's quality and affordability are unbeatable for the money, and it operates without a hitch (when the bearings work correctly). The plate carriages and/or internal bearings of this machine are the only components that will ever need to be replaced. If I knew how to remove the bearings, then, if and when that day comes, merely the bearings could be replaced, but Valor has not provided a method for doing this after my own attempts? I have no idea how long these bearings will last or how much it will cost to replace a complete carriage assembly weighing 10 lbs. with the bearings already in place. I suppose I'll learn if or when that day arrives?In any case, I adore the device and use it virtually every day. A Smith machine may be used for a plethora of exercises, and Valor produces a fantastic item at an affordable price. For those of us who are older and want to lift large objects without putting ourselves in risk, the safety features are quite essential!

For my wife, I purchased the F430 Power Rack. These dip handles go extremely well with it, and it's a terrific rack. The F430's safeties have two holes, and they may be added to allow you to use the dip handles on either the inside, outside, or both sides of the rack.This connection is adored by my wife. When you use them, it doesn't matter that it initially appears that you'll be too close to the safety.Additionally, you can completely lower the safety and perform deep push-ups with the aid of the dip handles.They are made of sturdy steel and can support a lot of weight. If you perform your dips outside the rack, your rack may shake a little. Not too bad, but it will be there anyway. No wobble at all if you do your dips inside the rack.Unless you currently own a dedicated Dip Station, you will definitely like having them if you get the BodyCraft F430 rack.

Okay, so before writing a review, I wanted to use this product for a few weeks. In summary, this is a pretty good smith machine for usage in a home gym. Some of the bad reviews surprised me a little because I thought this product was simple to put together (took about two hours with minimal tools). Although the construction instructions could be better, if you've ever put together gym equipment previously, you'll probably be able to do it without too much difficulty. When used, the silicon spray lubricant included with the product makes the machine slide easily.If you're intending to lift high weights (more than 300 lbs), you might want to explore another product because the machine is a little "low weight." I placed two sand bags similar to those used on soccer goals on the base of the frame to further support it. Although we have never placed more than 240 pounds on the machine at once, my sons and I use it for a variety of exercises and are quite satisfied with its performance.Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase and would suggest it to anyone looking for a good, affordable smith machine for their home gym. I gave it five stars in that regard. It really cannot be compared to smith equipment used in commercial gyms.

I eventually made the decision to put this machine together after it had been sitting in boxes in my garage for close to two years. It came together in around five hours. In order to mount the bar and the frame for the weight stack, I needed an extra set of hands. I was able to complete the remainder by myself rather easily.Round, flat nylon inserts that fit inside the bar's frame are present on the bar. This was the only step in the instructions that I didn't understand since I put the flat side of the piece on the outside of the frame at first and only noticed they were the other way around when I couldn't put the bar on.The chrome square tubes that make up the frame on which the bar slides are lubricated with silicon spray that is included in the box. The nylon plugs I mentioned before aid in the bar's smooth movement over the frame. The movement has been quite fluid up to this point, however it can be awkward to hold a slippery frame while you're continually moving around the frame. I've need to get better at trying not to grasp it. In order to keep the bar gliding smoothly, I suppose the frame will need to be constantly lubricated. I could envision it sticking if there wasn't enough silicone, but so far, nothing has gone wrong.The attachments all function flawlessly. I also purchased the 2" Olympic plate adapters. The weight stack is more than I need for now, but it comes with two 1" bars so I can add plates if I need to.The vinyl covering on the preacher curl pad is the only thing that currently worries me. When I do curls, I can feel it extending downward. I predict that the vinyl will strain and tear soon.Overall, a great machine for the money. It makes me joyful.
