My youngster has trouble chewing. She's approaching six, and despite my best efforts, I haven't been able to stop the behavior. My six-year-old chews HEAVY. If he isn't also wearing a chew necklace, he rips practically every shirt he wears, leaving many gaping holes and a torn neck hem. These were bought for my son. He suffers from sensory difficulties, ADHD, OCD, and anxiety. He can work on these instead of fiddling with stuff or sucking his thumb. Chewing on everything has always been a concern for my nephew! You name it—he will gnaw on your shirt, the wire to your PlayStation controller, or even your earphones! These were purchased for my 8-year-old ASD son who enjoys chewing on objects. He had been chewing on the ends of pencils, according to his teacher. They have various textures all around and fit well on pencils without erasers. It goes without saying that my child enjoys chewing on the small piece that connects the pencil toppers to the pencil. I purchased this item for a little patient I visit for speech-language therapy who has a low tone, few speech sound productions, and limited feeding skills (for now). I talked to the parent of the child I'm working with after witnessing one of my mentors from the past use one of them in a session. They're cute tiny tools that are kid-friendly, so that made us both happy. I appreciate that it arrived in a two-pack (I was really just going for the elephant because the ears resemble a spoon for feeding so well, but was please that it included an alligator for a different tool approach). The only drawback I discovered is that, if you don't handle it carefully once it's in your mouth, it can easily turn off the vibrations. This might probably be operator mistake. This will probably happen less and less as we both get better at using it in sessions—at least, I hope so! As of right now, I'm happy with the product and want to utilize it more frequently during sessions with my little son!
