This will make a fantastic quilt. They are extremely excellent and thick acrylic, and I appreciate that they have a hole where you need to make a dot to line the pieces up. For someone like myself who is at an advanced level, several of my templates don't, which makes it harder. With the little and giant circles, the two sizes will create an intriguing quilt. eager to begin working on Christmas gifts.

I adored using this tool to create a quilt! Nevertheless, I discovered a few things when creating my quiz:First and foremost, it's crucial to use a constant seam allowance. I didn't know that my 1/4 inch seam was off, so after the quilt was finished, I was unable to square it up.Second, using a rotary cutter to correctly and safely cut all four edges of the instrument is quite difficult. next time I try. I'll try tracing the tool, then cutting it out using scissors.Since I am a novice quilter, I doubt that similar issues would arise if I were more experienced. The slotted trimmer is fantastic. My half-square triangles had a much more consistent sizes. I like being able to round the turns as I went. Any method of squaring blocks takes time, even this one. My design instructed me to push the seams open, therefore the trimmer performed better than my other choice. They are a little expensive, but when you take into account the several sizes you may trim, it isn't that bad. Yes, I'd suggest this trimmer.

To try with my silhouette cameo, I bought this (for cutting doll pattern pieces nd stencils). When I originally tried it, I was unable to get it to cut; however, I must not have fully lowered the blade. However, that was for a rather large piece, and it wasn't too difficult to get the piece out after scoring the plastic. Not feasible for a precise stencil. I then took out the remaining sheets to give it another go, and it was a success! User error must have occurred the first time! For those who are curious, I used a cameo with custom cut settings of blade depth: 9, speed: 1, and thickness: 33. I was using a brand-new, really sticky mat. Before cutting, simply flatten the sheet with a credit card. Even cutting some extremely finely detailed stencils worked perfectly. :-)

I bought this ruler to use in creating squares for the drunkard's path. I really didn't want to purchase a drunkard's path template that would only work for a certain size block, and using paper templates to cut out curves was more fiddly than I wanted to get with my first attempt at stitching nested curves. I'm not a fan of having single purpose equipment. When I questioned the seller if this would work with drunkard's path blocks, the seller replied that it would not. I asked myself, "Why not?" This can absolutely work because it has all the right curves and they're spaced in half-inch intervals. And it performed its job. As you can see in the picture, my test block turned out wonderfully. I was able to cut several layers with a 28mm rotary cutter. Make sure your blade is sharp, press down firmly, wait your turn, and don't try to force the cut. The cutter slid in the groove more smoothly and I had greater control if I held it more upright, like a pencil, as opposed to in my fist, like a knife. I was also able to stay tight to the side of the template without skipping or catching.Determine the size of the quarter circle's radius before cutting the drunkard's path pieces with this ruler (the length along the side of the block). Find that value on the ruler by doubling that (the values on the ruler are finished sizes of circles in diameter, so your seam allowance is built in). Use the following larger size to provide space for squaring. To cut, align the bottom border of your cloth with the heavier, black line that is marked "fabric fold." It was simplest for me to cut squares that were just little larger than my quarter circle, align them with my mat grid, and then line up the ruler with the fabric and mat. However, this really only functions if your grid is still square. You can either cut half circles into quarter circles like I did, or you can cut quarter circles from those half circles. Keep your rotary cutter tightly pressed against the interior of the groove when cutting in it. You will use the groove just inside the one you used to cut the quarter circle out of the block to cut the exterior portion of it. For instance, if the inside quarter circle was cut using the 8" groove, the corner of the block's exterior piece would be cut using the 7" groove. Continue cutting in the same manner as previously, being careful to keep your cutter tightly seated inside the groove.
