The sketchbook was nice for the price but a little smaller than I had anticipated. I should have paid attention to the measurements, thus it's my fault. Has an exacto blade that I removed before hanging the kit because it is a Christmas present for my 12-year-old. The organization and neatness of the inside give it a very professional appearance. Approximately 80% of the material required for that course at your neighborhood library or community college will be covered by this.Exist any better tools available? Can you find a kit of higher caliber? Probably. However, you won't need those until you've had some experience, and this will just set you back $7. The wooden pencil box that comes with the other set has room for everything. You aren't purchasing a box; rather, you are purchasing art supplies! I'm not sure how a high-quality drawing pencil should feel, but I bought this lovely set for my pre-teen daughter who is VERY interested in drawing and wanted actual pencils. She's cherished them. This tiny package is excellent, and it's reasonably priced. After lamenting over the utter decline in my abilities after being away from the creative world for almost ten years, I realized I needed a fresh setup to get back into the groove. I didn't need a serious set with enough material to last me five years or with so much that it would be overwhelming while I'm reviewing my fundamentals again because I'm not plunging into full-scale works or anything just yet. It's ideal to have several different pencil types, an eraser, and a charcoal; this way, I can obtain a range of tones and finishes without having too many options or having my supplies strewn all over my tiny workplace. I've always been a touch heavy handed with pencils, and the white eraser can't always get rid of my hard lines, but the kneaded eraser knocks out everything. Plus, I've always thought they were simply very pleasant to squish, it's comfortable! The charcoals are bold, and the pencils are quite robust. Again, I use a lot of force, but these men aren't at all backing down. This collection is definitely of a professional caliber!That's another thing that makes this kit excellent for any aspiring artists! It's not only incredibly reasonable, but it's also of outstanding quality, which is exactly what a newbie should start off striving for. Nothing too sophisticated, just enough to provide variety and help you get started. Nothing irritates me more than seeing aspiring musicians pressured into purchasing massive loadouts when they most likely won't know what to use with half of it for a time. For a newcomer, it can be daunting, perplexing, and in all honesty, a waste of money. I received the art supplies in perfect shape, complete. Nothing was thrown around or out of position, and there were no blemishes on the box or broken drawers. Everything was whole and undamaged. Our almost 8-year-old grandson, who is 7 years old, loves it and we bought it for him. Based on prior reviews, I was dreading its arrival, but it is fantastic and suitable for kids who want to do more than just write. We can take it with us to restaurants and other locations without worrying about individual pieces getting misplaced or broken because it is portable and always remains complete. Although we seldom have problems with USPS shipping, some clients may have experienced damage because of the delivery method. The "3 mixing palettes" are the only "missing" goods that I can't seem to find; we searched everywhere and behind the items but have not discovered any; nonetheless, this is barely a problem and is simple to fix. Overall, it is a fantastic purchase that we heartily endorse.

The good news is that there are numerous art supplies in this box, including crayons, markers, and colored pencils. There are also a few pieces of colored paper.The bad news is that the latch, which I had assumed would be kid-friendly, wasn't even usable by humans. Day 2 saw it wear out or break. Seriously. Its ability to move with us or even just to close anything inside of it is so significantly impacted. Additionally, the separators work well for storing the precise art tools that came with it, but it is unable to accommodate even a basic 8.5x11 sheet of paper without shredding it in the divisions. You're pretty just forced to use the materials they supply and you can't really add any additional creative stuff in here.However, it was reasonably priced and came with a ton of stuff, so I'm thrilled about that. Until we create a bigger, better device that would keep all the art supplies here, I was only using it as a temporary art holder.

I enrolled in a basic sketching class and needed to buy a lot of inexpensive supplies. Although it only contains 4 pieces of vine charcoal, I chose this product because I wanted vine charcoal, it was the cheapest package, and I figured the tin would be useful.
