You can play DVDs for your children on it because it is made such that they can't reach the buttons. (The bottom can turn). Making destop presentations was deemed beneficial by another reviewer. To play an.avi file you made with your camera or PC, you can actually add a flash drive, which is not included but is VERY inexpensive.Its inclusion of a cotton "case" to carry it in or fasten to the rear of a car seat was something I loved.That doesn't apply to me because I don't have any kids.For a piece of this size, the pricing is reasonable.I do want to admonish you about two things, though:1) The item is reasonably heavy. It has a 3 pound weight (twice what my previous one weighed)2) The player is a DVD/CD player. Blu-ray discs CANNOT be played by it. Therefore, you won't be able to play Blurays on this device if you have a library of Disney Blurays for your children or watch Blurays at home (on a Bluray player). (I believe a company must pay a licence fee in order to produce Blu-ray players. The only feature I would have liked to see was a battery life indicator. Playing DVDs back-to-back until the device stopped playing was the only way I could test the battery life. The replay took a bit over 5 hours in total. I was pleasantly surprised with the video. I just assumed it wouldn't be all that good on such a small screen and that it would be difficult to watch.In his truck, he mostly uses it to play CDs. He has a sizable CD library, but his new pickup lacks an integrated CD player. Even though I could have given him a portable CD player instead, the fact that it can also play DVDs was a selling point. When he's not driving, he occasionally watches DVDs while waiting for appointments, visiting the doctor, or simply relaxing outside on his deck or in a park. He struggles to leave the house every day due to his sickness and this unit gives him something to do to pass the time.Nearly a year after the purchase, it has seen a lot of use and is still functional.

I'd like to start by saying that this seller was the kindest I've ever dealt with. They were excellent individuals!So, when I purchased this DVD player, the video played darkly and the picture was quite dark. I fiddled with the parameters without success. Since there was no way to contact the seller, I had submitted a review but said nothing to them and simply accepted my loss. I felt angry. However, this vendor was not having it. She tried to assist me in changing the settings in a letter she sent to me. When it didn't function, she immediately sent me a DVD player that did. People rarely show genuine concern, but she did. The DVD player she sent me also functions! God grant kindness to those like her. We don't get to see them enough. Therefore, my assessment of this product is that the DVD player is excellent and that you are purchasing from a vendor who values her customers. Thanks a lot!

However, I travel frequently and find that many hotels have slow internet, which makes streaming difficult or at the very least irksome.In addition, neither my home nor business laptops have DVD drives, and I frequently need to be using my computers while viewing a movie. So I made the decision to purchase a portable DVD/Multimedia player.This Funcher model distinguished out mostly due to the larger 15.6 "screen. The 1280 x 800 screen is great definition and ideal for watching movies, but it does not compete with high-end tablets. Having support for so many file formats, including CD, DVD, DVD R(-R), DVD RW(-RW), VCD, SVCD-R(RW), and CD-R, was another plus (RW). And multi-media files via the SD card slot or the USB input, including VOB, AVI, MPEG, MP3, WMA, and JPEG.The size of this DVD/Multimedia player surprised me a little even though I anticipated it to be large. It resembles a 15 in most ways "minus a keyboard, a laptop. The case and lid were made of plastic by Funcher to reduce weight. Both of which feel sufficiently substantial while having a little flex to them. I like that they gave the top lid a brushed surface; aside from looking like brushed aluminum, the roughness will assist minimize fingerprints.I charged the DVD/Multimedia player and put two AA batteries in the remote, then spent a few minutes in the setup menus making sure the viewing and sound options were all set up properly before starting the first movie. I must admit that the picture and sound quality is excellent. The screen rotates effortlessly up and down and back and forth using a single center hinge, and it is bright, crisp, and clear with wide viewing angles.I was also taken aback by how little LED light was seen leaking from the screen's corners. On gloomy scenes, I can barely make out a tiny bit of the bottom left corner of the screen, but not enough to be distracting.The DVD player's stereo sound quality is likewise excellent. With the volume set to the middle position, I can still watch and hear a movie even across a busy kitchen.With just the DVD player's buttons or the remote, the DVD player is simple to operate. The menus and options are clearly organized and simple to navigate and choose from. However, the little remote's buttons are a touch disorganized and lack backlighting. You might wish to have a light nearby to view the buttons if you intend to use this DVD player in pitch darkness, or you might choose a backlit universal remote.The DVD will resume playing where you left off after you turn the DVD/Multimedia player on and off. This is one of the features I find impressive.I've also listened to CDs on this DVD player. Although a full-fledged stereo system's sound quality is undoubtedly superior to that of a DVD player, it still sounds decent. To increase battery life, I can also switch off the LCD when playing music.I've just recently started using this DVD/multimedia player, but I'm already quite happy with it. I can't wait to travel with it. (A 12-volt power supply is provided.) I'm also eager to explore some of the multimedia features. When I do, I'll revise this evaluation.

For more than ten years, our old portable DVD player did us well. A few weeks ago, it finally failed, and we opted for the DBPOWER 10.5 "unit as our preferred replacement. Our 8-year-old son will be the one that uses this the most. We took a long weekend road trip out of state to use this new DVD player for the first time, and I must say we were really impressed! It's easy to use, and my youngster had no issue figuring it out on his own. The screen is enormous, the picture and sound quality are excellent (although we typically use headphones), and the built-in remote control is a really useful feature. I will ultimately get the headrest mount to increase comfort on lengthy travels, and I adore how the screen can be turned 180 degrees and folded flat (hence the necessity for the remote control since it does not have a touch screen). It didn't arrive with any headphones, which disappointed me. I did value the fact that it had both a DC power plug and a 12 V automobile adaptor. Battery life is nearly as long as promised. Definitely, I'd advise using this 10.5 "the DBPOWER DVD player!

I had previously purchased the Insignia dual portable DVD player at Best Buy before I bought this Dr. J model. The product can only be used with an AC adaptor and a vehicle adapter and is not region-free. I am glad I found this one on Amazon because I sent the Insignia back to Best Buy. This one is non-regional. I am able to view my favorite Asian DVD. I can enjoy viewing movies while doing the dishes with the water running because the sound is loud enough. This will be used on our journey with the kid. Because it has a battery, my kid can watch movies in the restaurant even if it's not possible to connect in an AC adapter or a car adaptor. It's not too hefty and is simple to move around with. I am extremely pleased with it and the pricing is very fair.
