Yes, parallel cables are still used in some applications, although they are becoming increasingly rare. Parallel cables are used to connect devices that use a parallel interface, such as some printers and scanners.
A parallel connection is a method of connecting two or more electrical devices so that the same voltage is applied to each device. The devices are connected in parallel with each other and with the power source. This type of connection is often used with electrical outlets in homes and businesses.
In a parallel circuit, each individual component is connected to its own set of wires that lead back to the power source. This allows each component to receive the same voltage as the other components in the circuit.
A parallel cable can be up to 50 feet long.

I was seeking for a connection to connect my MacBook to my 3440x1440p@120Hz monitor. I chose to purchase this connection since it supports the DisplayPort 1.2 protocol because I didn't want to be concerned about the limitations of HDMI. I also love websites with fast refresh rates. My monitor and this cable are in perfect harmony (Z35P). Both the 3440x1440p resolution and the 120Hz refresh rate are supported. You can plainly see that it is operating at 120Hz without skipping any frames in the photographs I've uploaded to demonstrate the frame skipping tests.I can't say enough excellent things about the construction of this wire. Braided cables feel great and look great, so I really enjoy them. The USB C and DisplayPort heads on the cable feel quite strong and fit tightly in my Macbook and my monitor.Anyone wishing to connect their USB C device to a monitor that supports greater resolutions and refresh rates should without a doubt consider this cable.

It functions as intended. The industry standard interface cable for laser projectors is an old printer cord. The Pangolin kit includes a new com box that connects to your computer's USB port through a serial connection that runs from the laser to the com box. Therefore, avoid purchasing a cable marketed as a laser communications cable because they are 100% more expensive simply because of that term. Simply look for used printer cords; they are inexpensive because they are an outdated technology that few people still use. I believe it is also utilized for the Mach3 CnC interface! The same rule thus holds true!

I installed two old printers using this wire with success. I set up an HP Deskjet 693C color inkjet printer on a Windows 8.1 desktop computer and an Epson 1010 dot matrix printer on a Windows 7 desktop computer. It appears that some of the criticisms made by others may be due to an incorrect knowledge of printer installation. The installation was quick and easy in both situations. The computers themselves identified and installed the wire right away (resulting in a "driver successfully installed" message). I then activated Windows' "Add A Printer" option (in the Control Panel). Both computers displayed a list of available printers for me to choose from, but neither time were the printers I was attempting to install there. Then I chose "Windows Update." The Microsoft database was then searched for the printer driver as a result. This process took a while. An extended list of printers appeared as a result. I was able to locate the proper drivers as a consequence. The test printing was successful after installation. Given the age of both printers and the fact that their makers no longer maintain them, I was astounded that it performed so effectively. The fact that it functioned with Windows 8.1 astonished and delighted me much more.

The Ethernet connection also connects my HP 4100TN printer to our local area network. My HP 4100TN is immediately connected to my Dell Inspiron 660 running Windows 10 via USB 2.0 using this UGREEN USB to Parallel Printer Adapter Cable. I have to connect to either the front USB 2.0 port or the back USB 2.0 port. It doesn't seem to function with USB 3.0. Because I initially connected to the USB 3.0 on the rear, setup took around 25 minutes. The USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 tip was offered by the Windows 10 printer troubleshooter. Moreover, I possess an HP 4050N. I use these ancient printers since the toner is inexpensive, the prints are excellent, and my CCH tax program utilizes fonts that I must download in PCL 5 or PCL 6 to the printer.I bought the TRENDnet USB to Parallel 1284 Converter cable for the HP4050N from Amazon a few years back. The TRENDnet cable costs less money. I bought the UGREEN cable because I needed an extra cable and the TRENDnet cable will not connect to the HP 4100TN. Now that I'm aware of the USB 2.0/USB 3.0 issue, I might be able to get the TRENDnet cable to work with the HP 4100.Both of the parallel to USB cords are great and I'm delighted with my buy. Keep in mind that a beginner may find installation frustrating.

Several HP inkjet printers are incompatible with Windows 7 64-bit. How to fix it is as follows:Install your printer by following the C-T-G steps without tethering it. You might be prompted to get a driver from Microsoft. Select the appropriate series of printer drivers (ie: choose HP720series driver for HC722C).Next, download and apply the following 3 patches from this HP website:[...]For attaching the adapter cable, keep following the C-T-G directions. Now that everything should be in working order, you can enable spooling and other functions. To attract attention, I just gave this one star. Please select "yes, useful" so that this will rise to the top and be seen by more people. It would have remained at one star and returned to Amazon if I hadn't discovered this treatment. Its performance is now rated 5 stars. By the way, I'm hoping C-T-S tech support finally picks this up so they can be of assistance.

This is the proper cable for LazerJet HP6P customers that require a 1284 cable with IEE/USB port ends. After a free software download, my Gateway Windows 7 Pro computer tower connects and transmits data to the HP6P printer's IEE 1284 pin connection through this cable. You may find the device driver at hp.com. Download the Win 7 - Add New Device file to make the Win 7 operating system compatible with the HP6P. Locate the HP website where this driver is listed —> (universal driver for printing only). Locate and choose the universal device by clicking Add New Device. The cord seems to be quite sturdy. The cord's ends appear to be very sturdy. It appears that the cord is adequately insulated to guard against data loss. I was unsure if this cord would function, but the cost is incredibly inexpensive for such a silly cord. My 20-year-old HP6P is such a terrific printer, and it would be a shame to throw it away, therefore I'm glad I bought it.

Therefore, I used to utilize a printer server to power my HP Laserjet 5P, an incredibly ancient and dependable parallel printer. I was unable to utilize that any longer due to network changes. I wanted to use an old iMac running Ubuntu to power this printer. There is no parallel port on this system. This basic cable did the trick. I connected it, turned it on, signed into CUPS, and the printer appeared. both the Ubuntu test page and web pages were printed. It seems to be well made, but I can't yet comment on durability. I could avoid spending a lot of money on a new printer or printer server.

Remember that this cable is specifically for a printer. The operating system sees the USB controller as a printing device rather than a standard serial device. Because of this, using a DB25 cable to connect to any random device will not work with this cable. As an alternative, you'd need to purchase a DB9/DB25 converter like this one from StarTech.com: DB9 to DB25 Serial Cable Adapter - F/M, USB 2.0 to Serial (9-Pin) DB-9 RS-232 Converter Cable (CB-DB9P) (AT925FM).This cable works great with printers. However, it won't apply to anything else. You'll be alright as long as you remember that.

Parallel ports are used to connect devices such as printers, scanners and external hard drives to computers. They are faster than USB ports and can transfer data at a rate of up to 1.5Mbps.
There are many examples of parallel connections at home. Some common examples are: -The outlets in your home are most likely connected in parallel -The batteries in your smoke detectors are connected in parallel -The bulbs in your Christmas lights are connected in parallel Parallel connections are used in many different applications in the home. They are often used when there is a need to supply power to multiple devices or when there is a need to create redundancy in case one device fails.
Serial and parallel cables are used to connect devices to a computer. Serial cables are used to connect devices that use a serial port, such as a mouse or keyboard. Parallel cables are used to connect devices that use a parallel port, such as a printer.
There are three basic rules for parallel circuits: 1. The voltage across each branch must be the same. 2. The current in each branch must be the same. 3. The total resistance of the circuit must be equal to the sum of the resistances of the individual branches.
In mathematics, the word "parallel" is used to describe a line that is always the same distance away from another line.
A parallel cable is used for connecting two devices together so that they can communicate with each other. This could be two computers, two printers, or a printer and a computer. The cable has two sets of wires, each with eight wires. The devices are connected by plugging the cable into each device and then into a power source.
