These cups are cute little elephants. as portrayed. Beautiful color and gold design. You shouldn't use this cup if you need it to be microwave or dishwasher safe. I don't mind because it can be stationed at one's desk to keep other important objects or utilized for drinking. I would have preferred the item to be smooth, but the only thing I don't like is that there are little bubbles in the ceramic, which is normal to have with fire. You won't be dissatisfied with your purchase because the design is on both sides. It appears to carry 12 ounces of liquid, and the truck or cup handle is quite sturdily made. I fill this to about two or three inches below the top with water because I prefer my water ice cold, then place it in the freezer overnight as suggested by several other reviewers. I put the cover on in the morning, fill it to the brim with tap water, and spend the rest of the day drinking ice cold water. I like that the mug keeps things cool and doesn't actually "sweat" because I detest having water pools on my table top.The lid is a little difficult to put on and take off, but one reviewer's tip (see it on the page for the 72-ounce version) made it easier. With one hand pulling the handle clockwise while supporting your weight on the lid with the other, the lid will open.As a right-handed person, I too prefer the mouth opening to be on the left side of the handle. To make it finish up where you want it to when you twist it shut, I've learned a trick: start it on the opposite side.
