I've been looking at coins using this official Hastings Triplet loupe. It's a touch more expensive than the alternatives, but it's also not some cheap Chinese junk; according to a small brochure included with the item, it was created in Belarus.It's a good tool that's nicely made, simple to use, and stays closed. The excellent optics are just what my 44-year-old eyes need now that they can't concentrate as closely as they once could. Every defect, nick, bagmark, stain, and especially the minute lines that reveal that an older coin has been "whizzed"—buffed to a brilliant luster—are clearly visible to me. I like the Hastings Triplet design because it has a large, broad field of view and no chromatic aberration. You don't even need to hold it close to your eye to see an object clearly; all you need to do is hold it about half an inch above the coin or other object you're looking at.After holding the loupe in my hands, I no longer have any doubts regarding the pricing. This visor is excellent. superior than my expectations. However, it does have a few drawbacks. Cons: It can be a bit challenging to insert the batteries at first. Up until you figure it out, the bottom one is a little difficult. If the lamp is not precisely positioned, it will automatically switch on and stay on. When the batteries were in place, it was quite difficult to remove the lid, but after I did, the led appears to be working regularly again. Unbalanced weight is the other problem. The LED pack causes it to be front heavy. There should be less of that. According to my spouse, I am a lady with a short neck. When I glance down to a certain degree, the front heavy visor (lead pack) makes it harder to keep my head from completely falling forward. If you wear it for more than a few minutes, I can see how it might strain your neck. Advantages: The method for adjusting the head size ensures a precise fit. Its forehead pad is plush and substantial. It's incredibly cozy and simple to get the right fit. Precision can be used to raise or lower the visor. One or two lenses can be used at once, and they can be angled either forward or back. It's a wonderful touch to have the retractable jeweler's loop. Additionally, the lamp can be oriented left, straight, or right, and the light can be adjusted on two brightness levels. Overall, I adore this device's versatility. The led pack could definitely be lighter. I will revise my evaluation if the lamp problem reappears.

It has made it easier for me to see details, such as letters indicating battery types on the smallest of metal cells, thanks to its two lenses of different strengths and separate LEDs to illuminate the thing being seen. I keep a great gadget in my desk drawer.Second, though, I did not discover the tiny metal tool that was supposed to be included with this Amazon box and was crucial for unlocking the battery compartment. Purchased this to help with tiny tasks like inspecting coins and maintaining watches, among other things. The LEDs shine really brightly. This is great since they make what you're looking at incredibly bright. Additionally, they appear to be precisely pointed at the middle of the lens you are using! This is excellent since the light is concentrated rather than dispersed. ideal for examining a particular detail. According to some evaluations I've read, the 60x is pointless. I vehemently disagree. To begin with, you hold the object close to your eye and use it somewhat like a monocle. There is a "sweet spot" on every magnifying lens when the magnification is at its best. You must be a specified distance away from the object you wish to inspect in order to do this. The focus is on this. For 99% of things, it works perfectly on the 30x. You don't need to grasp the object too closely because the focal point is big enough. The 60x works well if you want additional force, but you must have a steady hand and the item close to you. You'll notice that even if the focal point is little, it's worth the effort. This could be problematic if you use glasses. Additionally, if you have trouble seeing far away, this may be a concern. You shouldn't experience any issues if you have normal eyesight or even corrected vision from wearing contact lenses. Just so you know, any little, handheld magnifier will have this problem. Therefore, I wouldn't personally hold it against this unit. For me, the 60x worked perfectly. You won't regret this buy if used properly because you can see excellent details! The unit is also compact. This has not delighted all reviews. On the other hand, you don't want to be attempting to scrutinize something small while holding a big device, do you? NOT your grandmother's enormous magnifying glass, this one! The magnifier also seems to be quite solidly constructed, with mostly metal construction and a few plastic components. I'm astonished by how affordable this is. Get this one as a favor to yourself. Worth every single cent. So happy I purchased it.

I've owned a lot of one-eye "loop-type" devices in the past, which were made with weak plastic lenses and broke the moment you dropped them. Cheap and equally poorly built. I have utilized high-quality LED-assisted magnifying glasses and am a private collector of fine mechanical pocket clocks. They are functional but occasionally too heavy and clunky for the delicate job I undertake while looking inside a watch mechanism that costs several thousand dollars. I also have a fantastic computer microscope, but it needs calibration and setup. I required a better solution. I discovered this Fancii LED Slide-out pocket magnifier after searching the internet. The advertisement spoke a fine game, as do most of these, and I was dubious. I purchased one because the pricing wasn't outrageous. It was beautifully wrapped, came with a carrying pouch, and arrived sooner than I anticipated. It is well made and rather lightweight. Three different levels of magnification are illuminated when you fully extend the slide, turning on the LED. An ultraviolet light source or an LED with illumination for both LED 20x and LED 30x can be chosen using a sliding switch on the right. The clarity provided by all three lenses, and especially how simple it was to use, impressed me while using it to study the watch train of a 126-year-old Elgin mechanical-wind pocket watch. Given the entire range of features that I have never had accessible to me with any other similar gadget, I am so far incredibly satisfied with this magnifier. Please take note that I have no acquaintance with, relationship with, or communication with anyone selling this pocket magnifier. Excellent value, but there are several drawbacks you should be aware of. The 30x magnification is a reasonable size, but the 60x and 90x are too little, as one other user pointed out. Additionally, because the 60x and 90x lenses are on the same surface as the 30x, it is challenging to use them with curved pieces of jewelry because you need to get the object very, extremely near to the lenses in order for them to be useful. Since many carat stamps and maker's marks are found inside the inside curves of objects like earring hoops, it is impossible to maneuver the lenses up close to these areas.Again, it's a fantastic tool for the price. I appreciate that the lenses may be put into and taken out of a holder so that the magnifier can be carried in a pocket or handbag without fear of the lenses being scratched. I also like that I can switch between using the black light and the powerful LED light. Very helpful! The complete tool is compact and portable to a business or estate sale. To get a better look at the mineral specimens I am collecting, I bought this. It's 30 and is well-built. Since the lens is plastic, I need to be careful not to drop it or leave it anyplace where it can get scratched. I like that there are two Phillips screws on either side so that if the cover comes loose, all it takes is a quick turn of the screw to get it snug again and prevent sliding. The corners of the lens are hazy but the center is really clear. I don't think this was marketed as a triple, and for the price I paid, I didn't anticipate receiving a triple. I would advise paying additional money to buy a genuine triple lens if you require clear magnification in the center and edges of your lens. These less expensive lenses are effective for the job they do, but they lack the detail required, for instance, to see a clear inclusion in a diamond.
