My initial foray into felting was this snowman. I used the shears, the awl, the finger cots, and two of the three different sized needles.I believe that this is a fantastic offer (and they just dropped the price, dang it). The whole box is jam-packed with goodies, plus there includes a small pamphlet explaining what all the materials are (as well as more products that you can buy for yourself and use) and a brief introduction to felting. The needles and shears were oiled to prevent rust. It was carefully packaged. It has everything you need and is the ideal set. I never would have learned about finger protectors because I had only ever watched a few beginner's how-to videos on YouTube. They were undoubtedly helpful, and I completed my first assignment without ever harming myself. The range of colorful wool is wonderful. Literally anything you want can be made. I was pleasantly surprised by how simple needle felting turned out to be. I may now experiment without a fixed plan, but I'm grateful that the ebook came with it so I could put the fundamentals into practice. I've only completed one project so far, but I'm pleased with myself because I managed to finish it without breaking a needle. Since it came with so much wool, I really wouldn't mind purchasing a second kit to have a backup for all of my equipment.

I'm glad I bought it because it works well and doesn't have any annoying small black foam bits. Just keep in mind to rotate your work regularly when felting to prevent project pieces from adhering to the Woolbuddy and to wipe the wool pad in between changing wool colors. The pad is simple to clean with a sweater comb or, for best results, a sweater stone (from Dritz). When I switch colors, I usually flip the pad over and finish by cleaning the sides.The major issue I encountered was that the pad would move around while I was felting on it. I spent several days chasing the pad across my work surface before I realized that I could remedy the issue by placing a piece of no-skid shelf liner underneath the pad. Would like a larger size for bigger jobs, but this one is excellent in the interim. Because I would have regularly used 2 to 3 foam pads at a cost of roughly $6 each in the 2 months I have been using it, it has already paid for itself.

The bags' inability to be resealed is the only aspect I dislike. I've never felted anything before, but after seeing so many adorable animals on Pinterest, I made the decision to get a kit and give it a try. Although some reviewers claimed the instructions were challenging to follow, I didn't find them to be at all challenging. Without any prior knowledge, I was able to construct my hedgehog in approximately an hour. I used a fresh kitchen sponge with a cutting board below because the package didn't include anything to "feel" on, and it worked great. I easily could have made the apple, but I didn't since I didn't like the way it looked. I used less wool because I made mine smaller than the kit recommended; it's around 1" tall. Be careful not to bend them when punching the wool, rookie mistake. I broke one of the needles nearly right away, but as I got the hang of it, I finished him just fine with the second one. Be careful and don't move too quickly since it hurts like a cow when you stab your finger with the needle, and you can definitely poke through your fingernail. I considered this to be a fantastic beginner's kit, and I'm struggling to decide what to make with the excess wool!

It was less expensive to purchase this combination than to purchase a wooden single needle holder and finger cots separately. Even though a set's quality can vary, analyzing reviews, descriptions, and images revealed that the goods in the sets appeared to be identical to those that were offered separately. Additionally, whereas the individual goods were not Prime, this item was.A plastic organizer with movable compartments holds the set. There are six sets of eyes, a gluestick (presumably to attach the eyes), snippers, an awl, eight needles (one in a holder and seven in a plastic container), a wooden needle holder, and finger cots in it. The kit also includes 6 different hues of roving (not pictured). The roving is beautiful and soft and works up well; however, I did not take a photo of it because I had already used some and the remainder was in my basket with my storage. To demonstrate size, the picture is one of the hues.My thumb and index finger fit comfortably in the finger cots. Since I have somewhat large hands, I was unsure if they would fit. They fit and function, though getting used to them is a different challenge altogether.It's comfortable to grasp and use the wooden needle holder. I used to use needles without a holder in the past and I still occasionally do so for fine detail work, but I do like the comfort of using a grip. I also have a plastic pen-style holder, though I like the wood one because it can accommodate three needles.I would suggest this kit to people who are just beginning in order to obtain a sense of the needle felting skill as well as, of course, to those who want a few more tools on a budget.

I wanted a wide range of colors to work with because I'm new to this craft. I was initially shocked to see such tiny packages when I opened the packaging.
