I adore this scrub so much! It smells so good that occasionally I mistake it for sweets. I adore how my lip is being scraped by all the "sugar crystals." It gives the impression that your lips are actually being cleaned and the dead cells are being removed. I wasn't sure why you were supposed to wipe your lips after washing (as instructed), but I assume it was to get rid of the dead skin cells and crystals. Surprisingly, though, my lips continued to be soft.My go-to lip product has always been aquaphor, which is excellent stuff but doesn't last me the whole day and when my lips dry they get chapped really badly. I have a hard time finding any form of lip treatment because they constantly dry my lips leaving it flaky and "peely." In order for the aquaphor to actually make my lips feel better and softer when I reapply it, I first have to peel the chapped bits. not with this lip scrub, though!Even though I thought my lips could be dry after a few days, I was astonished to find that they were still soft to the touch and remarkably free of chapped lips when I checked on them. That was fantastic. About two or three times a day, I use this cream, and my lips feel wonderful. My lips are even beginning to appear more naturally pink as a result, I can tell (I have dark pigmentation outlining my lips- and it appears to be lightening now).But if you buy this scrub, I'd advise you to also buy the Hanalei Lip Treatment. They complement one another well and are each other's highly recommended products. After the cleanse, you apply the lip treatment, and it merely raises the bar. You'll feel as though something is working on your lips after the procedure. Even if the scrub is fantastic on their own, they work best when combined.

After giving this product a quick trial, I quickly changed from thinking it wasn't essential to actually appreciating it. It softened my lips and removed all the dead skin from them, leaving only the parched skin that isn't yet ready to peel off without hurting and doing additional harm. The packaging is nice. The lip scrub container inside the little, thin brown package was also safety sealed. It is presented in a manner befitting a high-end natural product and exudes quality both before and after opening. I'm quite set in my ways, so before using the product, I dismissed it as being useless. That is why I believe it would make a wonderful present, in addition to the attractive package.

Are you one of those women who purchases a thousand various brands of lip products but never develops a favorite? I guess I was. I have never used another lip balm after using this one. Ever. When I hit the pan, I was fairly ecstatic, and since then, I've been scraping the heck out of the tub to use every last bit of it. I use Blistex Conditioning Lip Serum or Mamonde Lip Sleeping Mask instead of this as a nighttime lip mask. This is primarily my daytime balm. Even though I don't wear lipstick at all, I enjoy that this has a somewhat glossy appearance and is thick enough to last for a while. This was something I bought at the end of September 2018 and just completed using today (the end of May 2019). Good price and balm.

When I brought these out to use them, my girls wanted one too, so I ended up giving three of them away as gifts. Here in NE Ohio throughout the winter, I struggle to prevent severe lip chapping. I've never written a review on Amazon before, but I felt compelled to do so for this particular item. Due to excessive lip-biting and the severe weather, my lips have been extremely chapped over the past three months. I would continually use lip balms, vaseline, and everything else I had to hydrate my lips, but NOTHING worked, so I decided it was time to start researching lip scrubs. By the time I had finished my research, I was debating between this Handmade Heroes lip scrub and a Lush lip scrub. Since there isn't a Lush store near my home or college, I eventually decided to go with this one because it was on Amazon, which was more convenient for me. It was also somewhat less expensive than the Lush. My lip hasn't felt this soft in a very long time, and I literally just tested it out for the first time a few minutes ago for this review. You just need to use around the size of a pea, as instructed on the container. Really, a little goes a big way. Even though I really liked this lip scrub, I have no idea how it stacks up to other products on the market since this was the first lip scrub I've ever tried. Coming as a current college student who definitely doesn't have the time or resources to make their own, if you don't want to or don't have the resources to make a handmade scrub, get this and it will be worth it!P.S. To give you an idea of how small the product is in the picture with the product next to the water bottle, the water bottle is a standard 16.9 fl oz Poland Spring bottle and the lip scrub is 1.23 oz.:)

It actually functions!I've always suffered from dry lips from biting and tearing the skin to make it "smooth." I forgot about all of my other balms and chapsticks after purchasing this lip mask!My lips stay moist for a lot longer now than they ever have before I bought it. Additionally, I appreciate that it is transparent and doesn't smell strongly like many other masks do. It's a little too runny, so when you first open it, hold it straight up, not backwards. If not, the mask will go all over your hands. But to be completely honest, I have no issues with it. That indicates that it will endure longer, which is wonderful. We applied this mask in one night to my husband's worn lips, and the next morning they were shining and smooth! I'm in awe that it performed so efficiently and effectively. I would absolutely purchase it again, but it seems to last indefinitely!

My lips often get flaky and dry. It's awful. My lips will feel better after using chapstick and balms, but the relief is always fleeting.Although the pricing was fair, I decided to take a chance despite my reservations about an overnight treatment. Overnight, the product is totally absorbed by my lips, leaving no gummy residue on my tongue.CONS: 1. The jar is a little on the small side, but I believe that's okay given how little product you need for each application. It does continue for a while.2. The mask is heavy and challenging to remove from the applicator. Even after running it under hot water, I felt like I could never fully get it all off, which was frustrating and time-consuming. Because it took so much time to clean, I eventually stopped using the applicator. I now apply it with my finger. The mask is also challenging to remove from my finger (I doubt I completely do so when I wash my hands). But I don't mind because I believe it demonstrates the mask's durability. Additionally, there is no sign of the lotion on my finger or lips when I wake up in the morning, indicating that it has been absorbed over time by my skin and lips and left no sticky residue.3. Several attempts are necessary to see results. My lips initially didn't feel any different, but after using this product every night for a week, I started to notice a difference. The change certainly caught my attention.It feels wonderful not to have uncomfortable cracks in my lips. Bonus: I can now wear lipstick all day without it looking flaky and unappealing. It's fantastic! I wholeheartedly endorse it. It became a part of my evening routine. Additionally, I think it works much better if you exfoliate your lips beforehand before applying this lotion. Although I appreciate this product, it doesn't perform exactly as I had hoped. When you first rub it on, it feels great and gritty but then it kind of fades away and doesn't actually exfoliate as much as it should. It removes roughly 70% of the dry, flaky skin from my lips, which isn't what I want or need it to do. The perfume is alright; I was expecting a more overtly peppermint flavor or smell, which it simply wasn't. However, I believe it moisturizes fairly well. Also, keep in mind that for roughly $6, it is an EXTREMELY SMALL container. The little jar contains around 3/4 of a teaspoon of the substance. Other brands, in my opinion, function significantly better and provide significantly more product than this one does. I really wanted to love this because I adore this brand's sugar body scrubs, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations.
