We treated our daughter's lice using RID from the drugstore, as advised by our doctor. two procedures. No lice perished. I picked out LIVE lice for two weeks, even right after chemical treatment. It's effective stuff. One of our adoptive girls had lice all over her head when we first brought her home. With each stroke of the NitFree Terminator lice comb, I'm referring to hundreds. I first tried the Walmart brand simply because I didn't want to wait two days to treat my boys who had lice. There was no change at all with the Walmart brand. Fortunately, I had purchased this as a backup plan. Compared to the plastic ones that come with most sets, the comb in this set is significantly nicer. The superior comb makes a significant difference in the removal of the eggs from their hair. The spray included in this kit for mattresses and couches was another feature I loved. It saved me money because I would have otherwise needed to purchase that separately. It didn't smell awfully chemical, which is fantastic! As of now, so nice! Although I've only used it once on two of my children, it seems to have worked. Compared to past lice treatments, it was distinct (foamy), but it wasn't terrible. I couldn't tell what was removed because the comb is covered with foam as you comb it out after letting it sit. Each time you use the comb to run through your hair, you must clean it (not a big deal). The kids don't mind the repel shampoo and conditioner, which I also bought. It somewhat has the scent of a citronella candle, lol. We haven't noticed any more lice or nits a few days after the treatment.
