These glasses appear elegant and well-made, not cheap. When I first bought them, I was a little concerned, but they feel sturdy, grip nicely, and have a sophisticated appearance. If you don't have soft water, I would suggest hand-drying them because they do have a tendency to show water stains extremely badly. I've had them for about a month now, and I've already had a few compliments on how they look. Although I haven't had a chip, shatter, or break, they are definitely made of glass, thus I would advise handling them carefully. Children under the age of eight might not be suitable. Would repurchase, satisfied with them. (I can't comment on that because I haven't put them in the dishwasher because of the remarks about the hard water above.)

They are GLASS goblets, not crystal (as some of the reviewers have implied). Yes, because I'm lazy, I put these on the top rack of the dishwasher. While most of them came out alright, one had a minor chip near the rim. These mass-produced goblets DO have seams, but they are not overtly obvious. Hey, they cost around $5 a glass, so what do you anticipate? Despite this, I'm not dissatisfied with my purchase because I plan to use them regularly to sip wine spritzers and Bloody Marys. Oh, and when I have company, maybe some water. Since the chip is so small and poses no serious harm to my upper lip, I'll be mindful to look for it. I haven't thrown it away. Although it seems chipping can be a problem, I'll keep a watch on them, and I'll still put them in the dishwasher. And I'll purchase more when they need to be replaced!

My expectations were surpassed by these spectacles. I was hunting for the Gibraltar juice glasses because I have some at home when I started arranging our holiday property. I chose to try these Gibraltar glasses since they were the only ones available on Amazon Prime in packs of 24. They are far nicer than Gibraltar, by a long shot. Although these glasses are pretty attractive, they don't appear to be very sturdy. The only one of these that was broken was the one that was dropped with other glassware and plummeted about 2 to 2 1/2 feet. In reality, it broke into numerous little shards. Amazingly, while appearing to be made of glass, they are not jagged.Seven bucks is a lot to pay for a fragile glass. They appear nearly magical, so it's a shame that there might be a flaw with this one.UPDATE To my surprise and happiness, Joy-Jolt restored the damaged glass following this evaluation. What I anticipated exactly. You simply cannot top it for the price. I maintain a fully set dining room table throughout the year according to the season. My husband thinks they are a little too "dainty," but I enjoy the size—5.5 inches tall with an 8 oz. capacity. They are dishwasher-safe, as the maker states, and so far that has held true.
