Although I have other laser levels, I like to utilize this Dewalt DW088K the most.This laser level is amazing. It comes with a blow-molded plastic carry case, an adjustable magnetic wall mount, and a clear instruction booklet. It is really simple to operate and will project a single horizontal or vertical beam (OR BOTH, therefore Cross Line) over 100 ft indoors.The laser itself contains LED lights that flash to show when it is level and is self-leveling.This laser is constructed with usual DeWalt ruggedness and durability. I've had mine for almost a year, and it still functions flawlessly despite being dropped, kicked, and falling off cabinets and ladders.I mostly use this laser to align ceiling-mounted speakers, light fixtures, and alarm sensors. I also use it to hang TVs, photos, wall tile, mouldings, and even picture frames recently.Cons: This laser level's only shortcoming is that you are unable to LOCK the laser beam in a certain location, such as on an angled slope for a stair railing, for example. Even if the laster beam isn't level, I can LOCK it in a specific place using a CST 360o Laser Level. This is helpful if you want some slope on a patio deck and need to match an existing molding or floor line that wasn't built level. The DeWalt DW088K can be used to measure below the level straight line, however other laser levels, like my CST, have the ability to LOCK into a specific position, which can be handy. The DeWalt DW008K works wonderfully in cases where you won't require this functionality (98% of the time), but it might not be the ideal laser level for you if you do. If I could, I would deduct half a point for the inability to lock the laser position.I indicated that I had three laser levels, but if I could only keep one, this would be it.I would definitely purchase this again.

On the left side, there is a switch. When you switch it on, the laser can level itself if there is a slight tilt (usually between 5 and 10 degrees) and display a green light on top. More tilting will cause a red light to appear and the laser to turn off. When the switch is turned off, you can slant the laser beam wherever you choose. Overall, mounting decorations on the dry wall is quite convenient for me.

I'm a woodworker. daily commercial construction I've owned this laser for a few years and I frequently use it. Use for wall and ceiling layout and do a lot of acoustical work. great for squaring partitions; always square; verify with tape. Utilize metal stud walls for plumbing. It is made to be placed over the bottom track's leg with a line coming out of the side of the laser to make it simple to install the top track while the bottom track is already in place. Great for grid ceilings, may be used to square lines for layout, and has a mounting bracket built for attaching to wall angles to level wall angles. There is no line-snapping and it is simpler to use than large rotary lasers. If you have a laser card, you can slide the laser down on the bracket to level the grid. Use a laser instead of a bubble on level while installing metal door frames. Use on a camera tripod for leveling grab bars and mirrors, installing cabinets and cleating for worktops, and providing wood backing for cabinets and accessories. It was just used on a tripod to install 600' of chair rail, which is quite time-efficient. Simply place the tripod in the middle of the space, alter the elevation as desired, and start working. best handheld laser I've ever used. It's far simpler to establish line to layout using the micro adjust knob than it is to shift the entire laser back and forth in hopes of hitting your target.This laser is the best little laser I've ever used in my 30-year career because to its three lines, square line feature, and micro adjustability. The only drawback is that it lacks a pendulum lock, so you must handle it carefully when moving it or carrying it in the case. The case is attractive, keeps the laser securely, and provides space for four more batteries. Good battery life. When a huge rotary is not needed, the best laser is used.

I've always wanted to get a line meter with a lithium battery because it's more difficult to change a dry battery frequently. and for me, this is perfect. Although I haven't tested it yet, the official claimed that it can be used constantly for 20 hours.1. The green light is on. incredibly clear even with the room's lights on. It was quite obvious when I went to inspect it from a distance of 100 feet.2. The automatic leveling feature is also fantastic; if I forget to level it, it will alarm and flash rapidly. until I flatten again.3. The magnetic iron frame with a 90-degree angle is a truly nice gift. Of course, the wall must have iron plates before it can be fixed to it. The supplier should provide a tripod, however the cost might not be as reasonable.

I had a different experience with this product than a lot of the other reviewers.1. The light is ideal for indoor use—perfectly bright. I didn't try it outside, but I did inside my apartment, which has 10 foot windows running the length of it. It was bright outside, but not in the sun, and all the lights were on. The lines were clearly visible from a distance of 30 feet, which was the farthest I could try given the length of the space. It would likely be visible from a greater distance. The horizontal line is longer than my apartment's approximate 15-foot width at this distance.2. The horizontal is absolutely straight. I compared it to the water level in a clear water pan.3. Both the alarm and the self-leveling function as intended. But it took me some time to understand how it functions. The item that appears to be an on/off button on the top is not, as has been stated by others. A slider on the front controls the on/off. The self-leveling alert can be turned on or off using the button at the top. The key is that, although I believe it uses a mechanical pendulum, the cross-beam self-leveling mechanism only functions if the unit is within a short angle of level.The following occurs if the self-leveling alarm is activated:The crossbeams will bounce around a little before finding their level and become continuous if the unit is within the needed angle of level for the pendulum to function.b) The crossbeams won't bounce if the unit is not inside the appropriate angle of level; instead, they will just sit there strangely and flash quickly.The following occurs if the self-leveling alarm is disabled: the beams will slowly flash whether or not the unit is within the necessary angle of level. Personally, I don't think the beam is useless at this slower flashing rate.4) I just got this yesterday, so I'm not sure how long it will keep working.5) The fact that it won't level if you point it upward while keeping the unit level horizontally is the reason I only gave it 4 stars. In order for it to function, it must be within the necessary horizontal and vertical angles. It's unfortunate because changing the angle from vertical should have no bearing on whether a line is vertical. Since I only have a 5-foot tripod and need it for an 11-foot high wall, it becomes rather less beneficial for me. It's okay though; all I need to do is set up the tripod on a table or take some measurements.

To use for my screen printing business, I acquired two of these. These assist me in positioning the garment correctly while printing my logo to maintain consistency, and I utilize them for alignment purposes. I am really happy with how well-made and durable these units are. Since I use face down, they kind of irritated me at first, but I finally got accustomed to it and was actually relieved that it wasn't continuously screaming down on me. They blink on and off if not level. The lasers are quite brilliant and function flawlessly for me. The fact that they automatically turned off after roughly 30 minutes was initially disappointing, but I soon realized it was a good feature for the occasions when I forgot to turn them off after I'm finished. Overall, I'm delighted I bought them—and I'm sure my customers agree—because they were definitely worth the money!

The image displays the initial trueness test results, and it was successful for at least 10 to 12 foot lengths right out of the box. Through a patio sliding glass door, ambient sunlight is shining (recently cleaned). The laser lines may clearly be seen. The suction cup test on painted drywall with a semi-gloss finish was unsuccessful, but the cups appear to be made for hard surfaces like glass or tile, in which case they would be effective. Overall, a useful product at a reasonable price.The plastic on this product is lower grade than the Dewalt and Bosche Lasers that are already on hand and meant for various work activities, which is to be expected given the price. However, functionality for the intended use is not compromised.In contrast to other items at this price point, which may skimp on even reasonable functionality and sometimes don't manage to reach 2-stars, I don't think bargain tools warrant 5-stars because they aren't intended to compete at those prices and some types of work will reflect the grade of the tool used. Instead, 4-stars is my top rating. To avoid warping the chassis or otherwise harming the tool, I won't leave it in the toolbox or expose it to a lot of heat. Running masking lines, cross-cutting sheet materials, verifying the squareness of the table saw, and other comparable jobs will all benefit from this.Anyway, I'll gladly get the same one again if I break this one.need three AA batteries, which are not included.
