However, I wish it had a black background and a white or yellow number.Cons: It's jinky because of the holder. I was forced to give up and purchase a hydraulic holder. The needle would move all over, even when pointing to a good vice. Consider upgrading your holde if you buy this indicator.

Exceptionally good dial indicator set. The old Starrett set I used in the shop before I retired was not quite as good, but it was more than adequate for my home shop. The indicator motion is smooth and accurate, with a range of one full inch in half-thou. increments. Strong magnetic basis with an effective on/off "switch." Dial is not metric; it is in US measures.The ONLY thing, in my opinion, that I might criticize is how delicate the attachment screws and support arm clamps are for the indication. Either they are loose or tight. I'm unable to locate a spot where I can simply snug things up while positioning them before tightening to lock it up. I'm going to check if applying a small amount of Lanolin on the clamp screws and joints will assist.Anyway, I'm happy with this indicator set and wish I had bought one sooner. I didn't believe I could get something this decent for the price.

Why I didn't get this dial indicator sooner is beyond me. Since I just have one one, I can't compare it to others, but it seems precise enough for my purposes in woodworking and is quite constant. I repeated my measurements several times on my table saw fence and blade and got exactly the same results each time. The ring is simple to spin, and hand movement is highly responsive and smooth. Based on some of the reviews, I was worried that the ring could be difficult to spin, however that is not at all the case. Even though it's extremely evident, perhaps some people weren't aware that the ring has a locking screw, or whatever you want to call it, that needs to be loosened. Anyhow, using this device is enjoyable and it functions flawlessly. I can't believe I put off purchasing one for so long. highly advisable

I purchased it in 2014, but it wasn't until 2016 that I had my saw repaired (an old, 1984 PM 66). By the way, the DVD was missing. However, it is extremely easy and intuitive. I started working on it and eventually got my saw set up to be less than 2,000ths off. You look good. The arbor flange was also good, according to the inspection. went to a saw-training session (total noob here). Making some window screens was my choice. I began by practicing on some thin cedar at first. (I discovered a lot, hehe) Dado stack should be inserted to create a 3/4" groove. I heard a faint clunking as the power was turned off. My driver pulley ended up being the culprit. After extensive study, I located a replacement. It required taking apart the table, the motor, the arbor, etc. Reassembled everything and adjusted the table. Exactly right this time. TIP: When setting up, see if you can use a full-kerf blade or a dado stack. They frequently have very smooth surfaces for your adjustments. I have no problems at all. My millwright brother, who was visiting from British Columbia, was also rather taken by the gauge. Buy one for him most likely next. I don't use it for using on a planer or other tools like that. Better alternatives exist (IMHO).

So even though it's not a Starret, it can still be used occasionally. The revolving dial face is the only drawback I'll mention. It's too close. Even after completely loosening the screw, it is still challenging to turn the dial to zero. I applied it to adjust a rear differential's backlash. The magnet appears to be working well. Since it's a 30% signal, I didn't have big hopes to begin with.

After retiring, I took up woodworking as a pastime. Cost and quality are therefore my main worries. The KHCRAFT dial indicator seems to be a strong, well-made product. The jury is still out on whether or not it is accurate. But it does appear that it will deliver the performance levels promised. The magnet is incredibly powerful, and it comes in a very sturdy, long-lasting carrying box. 22 more points are included for the indicator. Because it didn't come with operating instructions, I only awarded it four stars. The maker ought to have anticipated that a first-time user would buy this gadget at a price under $50 USD. As a result, YouTube fixed the issue. Would I suggest it to someone who has never used dial indicators? Yes. It is a useful tool for new users.

It's a tiny stand, really. The base's footprint measures roughly 1-3/4" by 1-1/8". Its length is around 5". The clamp is too tiny for a typical 3/8" dial gauge shaft and is intended for around a 1/4" shaft (6mm?).To link it to the dial gauges I have, I constructed a straightforward adaptor, and it fits perfectly.
