I adore my first Android TV box. I use it for Kodi and m3u8 IPTV. It uses hardware acceleration in VLC to playback 10-bit HEVC. It lacks Bluetooth, which is incredible in 2017. I have no problems using a 2.5" mechanical USB HDD. When it goes to sleep, the HDD is also turned off. Plug and play worked with my USB keyboard. Over HDMI, DTS audio is sent. The poor quality of the remote is the only significant problem I have noticed with this device. The remote's mouse feature responds slowly and moves the cursor across the screen slowly. It takes a lot of pressure to activate the middle "OK" button on the remote control. Using the up and down arrows on my Vizio TV remote also causes the box to move erratically. The box's HDMI CEC control is deactivated, but despite this, it continues to recognize commands from my Vizio remote. The vizio remote's IR commands nearly make me question if the android box's remote control is decoding them because they are similar enough to those commands. The unknown.In my tests, I also played a 2-hour loop of a 140 mbps, 10-bit HEVC video clip without the device overheating or malfunctioning. With the money I paid on this, I'm quite satisfied. The 10/100 ethernet connector was functioning, however I did not test the WiFi-N capabilities.

My new D5 arrived the other day, and I quickly connected everything. The fun part now starts. Since I have experience with Android boxes, let me to mention that if you are unfamiliar with them, Google will have all the answers to your queries and tutorials on how to use an Android TV box!The apps that they included have a few excellent features. I had no problems with the remote, and it was actually the first remote I had ever been able to get work with my TV. The Time and Date feature is the only drawback I can think of for this device. The time and date are out of date when you switch the device off. This was very frustrating. As I don't use my unit every day, I never leave it on. It goes without saying that I had to find a speedy repair because no matter what I tried, the unit time would not keep up and would not re-sync. I got the ClockSync app from Google Play and set it up on my D5. This resolves the date and time problem until the company's programming department finds a solution. You shouldn't let this deter you from buying this product because everything else is functional. I would have given it five stars if it weren't for the date and time problem. For the record, all Android Box manuals are terrible. If you have questions, as I stated earlier, utilize Google.

I won't bother attaching photos because the pictures speak for themselves, however I got this to keep in my minivan for the kids. Kids put a DVD in our DVD player upside down, and now it doesn't function. If you wish to use the 3.5mm audio/video output, you will need to purchase a cable because it isn't included with the device.It works well once I loaded a microSD card with kid-friendly movies and connected it in the van (needs a regular power outlet).Since the 3.5mm audio/video cable isn't included, the rating is just 4 stars.

This box moves quite quickly. I've tried several others and want to slap myself for starting off on the inexpensive side. I wasted time and money on boxes that weren't as capable. Upgrade those slow, unstable s905 chips to the 915 for a few extra dollars; the difference is immense.

The ideal combination of a S912 processor and 2 GB of RAM plays every file format and codec, including the latest H265, without stuttering or buffering, and even plays YouTube videos. To get the full experience, look for a "small wireless keyboard" on Amazon (not a bluetooth type), which goes wonderfully with the included infrared remote.

After three months, the external power supply failed. The output voltage of the power supply was nil when it should have been roughly 5.23 volts. It worked great when I used the power supply from another box. When powered, the box performs fine, but the power sources are subpar. I now need to locate and purchase a new power adaptor.

This media player was purchased for a struggling household. It had to be straightforward and simple for them to use. Having said that, I had to initially put it up. It does require some technical expertise to download apps. For instance, I wanted to update to the most recent Kodi version because it had an earlier version. The most recent Kodi version is considerably simpler to use and control.Kodi update was really simple. I downloaded the newest version using the browser. The earlier version had to be manually deleted, which I did without a problem but my family wouldn't know how to do.Everything I downloaded and am currently utilizing is excellent. MySword, a Bible app we use, operates without any issues; depending on the scriptural translation you pick, it may even utilize a unique typeface at times.The video is effective and very clear. In order to extend the sound from the TV they will be utilizing beyond the TV, I have attached a Bluetooth speaker. The player has not experienced any Bluetooth connectivity issues, and the speakers are linked when in use.I've combined the remote control with a mouse. The mouse makes things much simpler to navigate. When watching videos, the remote will be helpful and does operate effectively. I like that having an attached real keyboard takes up room and that the on-screen keyboard is convenient.I put up this media player and left it running the entire time we were at the park. It has been on all day when I get back, but it is not hot. I'll update this review without a doubt if anything ever changes with this media player. We are in continual communication with the recipients.
