I wanted a replacement for the TDK DVD-R disks that I had been using for many years. I did not switch because I was dissatisfied with TDK disks because they performed flawlessly. But more crucially, TDK DVD-R disks were just not accessible from any vendor; I was unable to obtain TDK disks on Amazon that were offered at the same price I was used to paying. It appears that TDK has stopped producing these disks, and those that are still in stock are being offered at a higher price. No one wants to use defective optical disks to archive computer data or to keep priceless images and video files, so I searched for a trustworthy replacement to TDK with considerable anxiety. I bring up these details because several of the SONY DVD-R disks I used for these purposes have failed.I decided to use these after reading Amazon reviews and considering Verbatim's stellar reputation, and I've been content ever since. Why? No disk malfunctions!I advise using this brand to satisfy the majority of archival storage needs based on my experience.

These Verbs are my second choice for CDs and are comparable to my top choices in terms of performance and dependability (different brand). With very few coasters, the burns on this product are quite satisfactory (perhaps 1 or 2 every 100 discs). A white surface that is printable receives and absorbs ink incredibly effectively and dries quickly. For the quality of this item, the price is excellent. The fact that these discs aren't hub printable is the only tiny negative for me (and to some, it probably won't be a problem at all) (printed surface runs all the way to center hole). These discs' 8x burning speed may be a problem for some people, in which case you might want to find something else to do (if you have a life, there are better things to do with your time than waiting for an S-L-O-W burn) LOL!:>) I always burn my video data at 8x since I read on the New Dawn forum that doing so produces data with better reproduction quality and a longer lifespan overall without the risk of pixelating video and/or audio erosion. I'm not sure if that is absolute fact, but I can say that the DVDs I burned in 2004 still play flawlessly in my library. Still, it's a great value and highly recommended!

Okay, fine. The reality is that I grew weary of my new computer informing me continuously that I needed to make a backup of its key (Windows) software, despite the fact that I've been attacked by nasty viruses in the past and am aware of how crucial it is to do so. That's why I purchased these items. After receiving too many annoying waving-flag reminders, I decided to browse over to Amazon and look for the most affordable collection of DVDs to complete the process in an effort to make it as painless as possible. I merely needed enough disks for a desktop and a laptop backup. Additionally, I desired free shipping and a minimal purchase price.I decided to go with this Maxell 15-Pack. It was a big success. I do have a few extra DVDs that I didn't need for the two backups, but not a lot, and I'm sure I'll utilize them eventually. No more terrifying warnings about what will happen if I don't backup. That's it.My wallet didn't take a significant blow because these DVDs were fairly priced. Cheap yet not cheaply priced. They even avoided me waiting to go out and buy DVDs to backup everything by coming to my door for free. I would still be scowling at the warnings if I had to go to a physical store to purchase these items. Convenient.I heartily endorse them.Rebel KennedyPS: Have you yet made a backup of your computer? LOL

Who still uses DVDs? Who? Old men attempting to remove content from their vintage MiniDV cameras. For the multi-step transfer to our NASes, we require discs. First, a disc can be burned using an equally dated machine and a MiniDV camera connected through IEEE1394-Firewire-iLink cables. Then, using an external USB DVD drive, transfer the burned DVD to a NUC. The QNap server is then reached from the NUC. Wow. plenty of labor.I was able to find these writable DVDs for the lowest price. They performed flawlessly.

Far too adorable! I prefer to use physical disks for music because I live in the country where wifi is not free and data is metered. Additionally, I take my kids to and from school in my car, so I won't be fiddling with my phone or iPad during the 16-mile roundtrip to select a music. Playlists are good, but in the modern age, a disk that allows you to focus on driving rather than the audio is a must for the car. Everyone who sees them, including my 17-year-old adolescent boy, exclaims on how adorable they are. The quality is excellent. We color tagged the music genres to the case colors when I purchased the plastic storage cases for them. I also discovered that I prefer purchasing the smaller packages. Bulk purchases are less expensive, but if you have children or pets, the second half of the spindle frequently ends up spilled or scratched, losing a lot of disks. I create our own "mixed tapes" by burning digital tracks that we have purchased (yes, I'm a child of the 1970s who had a boombox in the 1980s with all those mixed tapes, haha).Very good purchase...I urge you to give these a try.

Hello, I bought these to create a few Windows 7 64-bit Repair Disks, not to make videos. When they are so much less expensive, why not just utilize the larger size?because these will fit into a WD My Passport hard drive Amazon Basics case.I have three of them; two are kept in the safe, and the third is kept at home. One of these repair disks, a small USB-3 cable, a microSD card in a MicroSD to SD adaptor, and a microSD card in a MicroSD to SD adaptor (used for backing up flash drives of financial information and other things that you don't keep on the computer) can all fit inside the Amazon Basics case with just a little bit of extra room.Although it is a snug fit, everything fits. The drive containing my C-drive backup and all of the data backup, the cord, the Repair disk, and the MicroSD card are all kept together in one little container in this fashion. Therefore, switching in and out of the safety deposit box, transporting the third one in a car in case of hurricanes, or doing anything else is simple.I chose the Sony because of its rave reviews and claims to be 100 times more scratch resistant.I only needed three, but I decided to get the ten-pack anyhow.
Yes, you can play a DVD-R on a DVD player. DVD-R is a format that is compatible with most DVD players.
There's no difference between DVD-R and DVD-R. They're just different ways of spelling the same thing. DVD-R is the more common spelling, so you're likely to see it more often.
A DVD-R does not need to be formatted. It is a recordable DVD that can be used to store data, video, or audio.
A DVD-R disc is a type of DVD that can be written to once and then read from like a regular DVD. To play a DVD-R disc, you will need a DVD player that is compatible with DVD-R discs. Most newer DVD players should be able to play DVD-R discs, but you can check your player’s manual to be sure. To play a DVD-R disc, just insert it into your DVD player like you would any other DVD.
DVD-R discs are designed for long-term storage and have a lifespan of 30 to 50 years.
You can rewrite a DVD-RW up to 1,000 times.
