Okay, I needed a temporary lock for my cheap fixie since I commute to school every week for almost ten hours. The tires on my bike are the most expensive component, thus I'm more worried about them being stolen than anything else. Be warned that thicker racks won't work with this lock unless you lock the bike with the rope around the wheels or the frame rather than the U-Lock; nevertheless, doing so will probably make you more vulnerable to theft. Would advise installing a second, larger U-Lock to aid in enhancing security.The only thing I didn't like was that one of my keys got stuck and bent when I initially went to set up the bracket to lock/unlock it. While one of the keys is straight, the other is deformed but still functional.When I insert and remove the lock from the bracket, the silicone/rubber portion moves around a lot and nearly blocks the keyhole. Maybe I put it on too tightly, but it can be difficult to take off and put on; as a result, I might remove the mount or loosen it.If I wanted to secure my rear wheel and saddle, I would get this as a secondary lock to go with a stronger U-lock. I just purchased this "bike" lock to put on my front gate. I needed a lock that could wrap around the gate's bars and that was wide but not particularly lengthy, like most bike locks. This one is a nice size because it provides a full 4.5" of space in width and is about an inch shorter than a typical size. I particularly like that the "combo" entry is hidden behind a small cover on the front of the lock. To open the cover, you must pull a trigger at the bottom, and pressing the button at the top unlocks the lock when the combination is entered. Although it isn't particularly light, it is sturdy and has served me well. You may set any combination you desire for the lock's numbers by simply removing a screw, which makes it rather simple to do so. Before you could reset it, you would need to know the code. The metal has a covering that not only shields the lock from harm but also whatever it is attached to—in my instance, a gate—from harm. Really, the only thing I have to complain about is how long it took for the item to arrive. Other things I ordered following this one arrived considerably quicker. My Siguna 16mm hardened steel U-Lock with 1200mm double loop cable, which I ordered, was delivered yesterday. I primarily bought the lock for the U-Lock. Really, I don't need the cable. I don't intend to use it because cables are always the weakest link in locking systems. I have a thicker, similarly constructed cable lock that is slightly more secure if necessary, and I would use that instead if the situation called for it.I DO like the bicycle mounting function, and I want to set up the bracket as soon as possible. Despite the fact that I don't typically keep my bike up in high-risk areas, I bought this lock since it has a 16mm diameter, which is too thick for the majority of bolt cutters, according to what I've learned. I would only suggest that the "U" portion of the lock be a little bit longer to provide for greater flexibility while locking the bicycle up in various combinations and in bike racks with various designs. As things are, using the cable to lock the bike up in some circumstances actually weakens the whole locking mechanism and somewhat defeats the lock's intended purpose.However, the "U-Lock" element of the system is wonderful and will undoubtedly function as intended for the most of the time at the spot where I lock my bicycle. Although the lock is a little stiff and catches on something inside, I would have given this product five stars. I'm a little hesitant to use it to lock my bike up and trust that it won't come off. I have used dry lock lubricant all around to lubricate the dust cover because it is really difficult to turn ( after finding it was stiff and grinding). nonetheless, seems to be a pretty strong lock. If the lock mechanism catches, time will tell if it will fail. Since the seller claims to have a multiyear guarantee on this item, I will get in touch with them if it does break. I'll continue to use it till then. I like how sturdy it is, and the cable's length is ideal for securing my 24" motorbike to the front wheel. I bought it because I'd read a lot of positive reviews about it and a friend of mine already had the same lock. However, while using the key, his lock doesn't grind as much as mine does. I have some knowledge of locks, therefore I'm speculating that the cylinder holding pin is either misplaced or excessively lengthy. That, in my opinion, is what is making it catch. I even lubed it with dry lubricated, like I mentioned, and it still catches. I'll return and increase my rating to 5 stars if she lasts the entire year, or to 4 stars if it breaks and they replace it for free as promised. Incredible is the Bike U Lock with Cable (BULwC). It is affordable but highly durable and dependable. 3 keys are included, which is a pretty amazing extra feature. Via Velo continued, "Especially for the price, they didn't need to."A robber broke in with a pair of Heavy Duty Bolt Cutters (HDBC), with my carbon gravel bike in his line of sight, one wet evening when I was locking up my bike with one of these BULwCs in our parking garage. The BULwC apparently wasn't having it.The robber then makes the decision to depart the parking garage in a fit of rage while carrying HDBC on his Jansport. This lock has a really modern design, in my opinion. The dial being concealed makes it look less like a dial padlock, which is cool. I like that you only need to click to unlock the dial. Additionally, you can click the lock off the stem as it is slid off. extremely quick and practical.I had a key lock type, and over time, the key lock began to malfunction. Because it was affordable and included a cord to fasten the wheel, I decided to buy this lock.Having said that, I did notice a review of a theft when the bike was stolen after the lock was broken. Yes, that is a significant drawback, but if you have a fancy bike, you should also always use a chain lock. And don't leave your bike unattended in a quiet area for several hours. Just to let folks know, a thief looks for excellent bicycles.The fact that my bike isn't a pearl makes this lock ideal for me. So, I'm pretty content. Although it only occurs occasionally and finally goes away, it is still bothersome. My previous Kryptonite locks had a plastic clip that was challenging to install on the bike and difficult to attach and remove from the lock without breaking. The plastic parts of the new mounting kit are slightly larger but significantly more durable. The installation of the kit involves the use of a webbed strap and metal buckle that are firmly attached to the bike frame (the bike is covered by a rubber insert), and the release mechanism feels less likely to snap. Be aware that it may be challenging to mount to bike frames with non-round frame members.

Such a great bike lock! I've used a number of locks over the years, including key locks, alpha locks, and now this numeric lock, and I'm really happy with it. My key locks were prone to jamming, and one day the alpha lock completely broke down, leaving me stranded and unable to access it. I reluctantly returned to the key lock but later made the decision to attempt this. I adore that the bottom portion totally separates, making it simpler to lock, and how much better a numeric combination is than having to worry about a Key. I also appreciate how the number combination is hidden so that people won't immediately recognize it as such and attempt to open it. To see that, someone would need to click open the flap, therefore I view that as an additional safety measure. The metal also has a substantial weight to it. I'm hoping that the numeric combination won't cause me any problems, but so far, so good! My only gripe is that I wish it had been a little bit longer. Due to the peculiar form of my cargo trike, I frequently need to use both my cable lock and this lock to secure my bike to a rack. That's my one quibble, but it's not a big deal.
