If you're looking for a cheap band saw, you'll probably find that they're not worth it. Cheap band saws are often made with lower quality materials, which means they're more likely to break and won't last as long as a more expensive band saw. They also tend to have fewer features and aren't as powerful as more expensive models. So, if you're looking for a band saw that will last and has all the features you need, you'll probably want to spend a little more money.
Most people can cut straight with a bandsaw if they take their time and use a little patience. It is important to make sure the blade is installed correctly and that the table is level before beginning to cut. It is also important to use a steady hand and follow the line that is being cut. If the line is not followed, the cut will be crooked.
Most band saws will last for many years if they are properly maintained. It is important to keep the blades sharp and clean, and to oil the moving parts regularly. Band saws that are used heavily will need to have the blades replaced more often than those that are used only occasionally.
Bandsaw blades are one of the most important parts of a bandsaw, and they come in a variety of sizes and shapes. There are many factors that determine how long a bandsaw blade will last. The most important factor is the type of metal the blade is made from. The second most important factor is the thickness of the blade. The third factor is the width of the blade. The fourth factor is the set of the blade. The fifth factor is the speed of the blade. The sixth factor is the environment in which the blade is used. The seventh factor is the operator

As opposed to laborious hack and reciprocating saws, this saw makes cutting metal pipe, brackets, etc. I have nothing to complain about other than the fact that Dewalt neglected to include the model numbers for replacement blades in the handbook and that, as of 10/23/2018, the following goods were mislisted under "Frequently bought together" on Amazon:Blades for a portable band saw, DEWALT DW3984C 24 TPI, 3-Pack, $14.99Bandsaw Blades, DEWALT DW3983C 18 TPI, 3-Pack, $14.99After spending more than an hour reading in the handbook and searching online, I finally decided to copy and paste the information from an Amazon order I had just made, along with the information from the manual and the exact blade model numbers.the instruction bookBladesBlades that are 1/2" (12.5 mm) wide,.020" (0.5 mm) thick, and 44-7/8" (1140 mm) long can be used with this portable band saw. We required a band-saw that could handle the quantity of cutting we need as part of an installation team running EMT conduit, electrical infrastructure, and security systems. Due to our gradual adoption of Milwaukee tools over the past five years, they now account for around 85% of the tools on our job sites. We cut EMT conduit from 1/2" to 2" thus this band saw works for us. It's a great tool that has greatly streamlined the working process. Comparing it to the tiny version, it isn't exactly a lightweight bandsaw, but it does the job.

Especially for a deep cut portable band saw with the characteristics it does offer, the pricing is reasonable for a DeWalt product. It's a terrific combo to have a small, well-made vertical band saw, so I placed it in a SWAG V 3.0 Portaband table. When used as a vertical saw, the built-in LED light with its own switch performs very well. For my needs, variable speed works well, and the saw maintains blade speed with ease. The adjustable handle features three grip positions for a comfortable hold if I were to use it as a hand-held portable. It appears to be a well-made product with a strong warranty. I wish there was a trigger lock for the SWAG table, but I make do without one by using a computer wire organizer made of velcro to keep the trigger turned on and a 20 amp foot switch from SWAG. Just to let you know, some of the pictures are "cutaway" views. The bottom drive wheel is solid, just like the top idler, protecting the drive chain. I do advise using BOELUBE Machining Lubricant - MFR: 70200-00 or an equivalent product that you can get on Amazon, as well as Olson Saw AC70010 Saw Blade Lubricant. I frequently cut metal, and this prevents the chips from adhering to the blade's gullets. Lenox makes the greatest blades, in my opinion, and I also suggest their bimetal blades for all metals. Although the saw is manufactured in China, this does not imply that it was produced at a low cost. Also mentioned is the fact that a table does indeed come with the saw, but it just includes a foot plate.

I dropped this off a boom lift on the second day I had it on a construction site. To concrete it dropped 12 to 15 feet. I was furious because I didn't believe it could have survived. I completed my task and headed downstairs to at least retrieve the batteries for my other equipment. When I picked it up, I found no damage. pressed the trigger after popping the battery back in (it had fallen out on impact). worked perfectly. Only the black housing around the blade had a scuff when it was examined closely.cuts through conduit effortlessly. Additionally, I've found the easiest straight cut among the port-a-bands I've used. 20 feet in the air with a mini in my mouth, an EMT stick in one hand (at an angle because I'm in a lift), and the saw in the other? Straight cut, as I made it while using a tripod.Strongly advise using the metal blade guard. It's not available on Amazon. I had to place an order with a local DeWalt dealer. If your finger doesn't understand that there are many motors and sharp metal objects you can't see when it is in the operating position, it becomes almost foolproof.

I bought this saw to add to the M12 toolkit I'm gradually compiling. It turned out to be a fantastic addition. It is sufficiently powerful to cut steel bolts, threaded rod, Unistrut, and other worksite metal. It is compact and lightweight for convenient transportation. I've used it to remove components from flat-screen TV wall mounts that were obstructing the jack pack at the back. The best aspect is that you can use it indoors, over a garbage can, without creating a mess or creating a fire hazard like you would with a chop saw. If you hate using the hacksaw, homeowners, you need this tool. Steel may now be sliced with the same ease as wood. It can be used to cut plant hangers, support brackets, wire shelving, and a variety of other tiny metal parts. Once you have it, you'll wonder how you ever survived without it. It's one of those tools.

As a cabinetmaker in San Francisco, I also perform specialized finishing work. This is used for everything else, though I do have an antique Rockwell plane with spiral carbide that I use for doors. Although I own a number of XR tools, not every Dewalt product is as great as this planer. Just smooth and quiet, with a glassy sheen. This took the place of a corded Bosch that I used for 20 years and had a significantly superior fence and chip-shooting capabilities on both sides. Because you are stuck with the chips coming out on the right, I almost didn't buy this, but since I was already involved in the 20v system, I gave it a shot. It is so pleasant to use that I'm doing shallow and even long scribes with it that I used to do with a belt sander or block plane or even with a jigsaw. I'm a little picky about how a tool feels (Dewalt, please create a drill that feels as good as this plane!) and I am truly eager to use this one. The fence is a pointless afterthought, but if you're not building doors with it, this is one of the nicer XR tools Dewalt makes. Every once in a while, I have a circumstance where the chips have to shoot up and shower back down on me (yes, there is a bag which I tossed away). Additionally, I have to admit that flying without a cord is really fantastic.

On the scheduled day, the saw was delivered to us today. The device traveled safely because it was packed carefully. The table just needed to be attached once, which took around five minutes, and the "0 degree" pointer merely needed to be tightened down. Initial visual assessment revealed that everything was in order; both the alignment and band tension appeared to be satisfactory. We checked the tracking after turning on the device, and everything appeared to be in order. However, we did very slightly modify one of the four (side) guiding pins (the back of the blade is supported by 2 roller bearings). My kid used the saw to make a few test cuts, and it worked perfectly (my son was impressed). We're happy with the purchase thus far and offer the unit 5 stars. We'll update this review if anything causes us to change our mind about this product. We've owned this saw for almost 9 months, and we're still happy with it. The only drawback I can think of is that it struggles in (extreme?) cold. Your shop needs to be heated in the winter because otherwise the motor bearings would be too cold to turn smoothly. It continues to function well for us come spring. reducing the score to 4 stars.

I bought a Skil 9 "I bought a band saw over five months ago, and I use it virtually every day for little woodworking projects. It's been great, but there are a few things you should know:I had seen a critical review that claimed this was underpowered before I made my purchase. It's most definitely NOT underpowered, however after 2 months of consistent use, I did notice a noticeable loss in power. My investigation revealed that the drive belt was loose. It had more power after I tightened the drive belt than it had before I opened the box. A 2x4 was as easy for me to rip as hot butter for a knife. It already has a 4 TPI blade that is of poor quality attached. You might want to put that one aside and install a better quality blade while you are assembling this, depending on what you plan to use it for and how frequently. I make my cuts with a larger tooth count. After approximately 4 months, the table's plastic blade guide snapped. During the process of cutting several curves and pieces of plastic, it had occasionally burst out.The last time it sprang out, it moved sideways after being struck by the blade, shattering into so many fragments that I was unable to count them all. Therefore, when you get yours, you could want to replace it right away or temporarily glue that down. Because you need to remove that portion to replace the blade, do not permanently glue it down.Keep it tidy. If you use it frequently, vacuum it periodically and make sure the drive wheel's rubber is clean. I observed that despite the wheel brush that rolls against it, it can still become caked with particles. I gently wiped off the caked-on debris using 400 grit sand paper. This is after using it virtually every day for three months to cut plastic and wood, mind you. You might want to clean it more frequently if you use this THAT frequently. For me and my daily use, this has been wonderful, but keep in mind that it is a 9 "so it's for smaller woodworking jobs than a band saw. For its intended application, it possesses MORE THAN ENOUGH power. You can cut something up to nine inches wide "I would not attempt to rip wood that was thicker than 4 inches. Check the drive belt if yours seems to lose power over time. Loss of power may result from a loose drive belt. You won't experience any issues if you keep it tidy and keep your saw sharp.
A band saw can cut through a variety of materials, including wood. The thickness of the wood will determine how easy or difficult it is to cut. If the band saw is not powerful enough, it will struggle to cut through thicker pieces of wood. It is important to know the capabilities of your band saw before cutting through any material.
Many woodworkers will say that a bandsaw is better than a table saw because it can do more intricate cuts. Others will say that a table saw is better because it can make cleaner cuts on big pieces of wood. Ultimately, it comes down to what the woodworker needs to do with the tools.
Bandsaw blades can last for a long time if they are properly cared for and sharpened on a regular basis. While it may seem like a lot of work, it is worth it in the end to have a blade that cuts through material quickly and easily.
The disadvantages of a band saw are that they are not as accurate as a table saw, and they can be more dangerous because the blade can break and fly off the saw.
There are countless ways to use a band saw, but here are five of the most popular: 1. Resawing lumber: A band saw can be used to cut lumber into thinner pieces, which is ideal for projects that require thinner boards or for boards that need to be cut to a specific size. 2. Cutting curves: A band saw is the perfect tool for cutting curves and other complex shapes. 3. Making joints: A band saw can be used to make all sorts of joints, including dovetails, box joints, and finger joints.
