Can you put a 5 inch disc on a 4.5 inch angle grinder?

A 5 inch disc can be put on a 4.5 inch angle grinder but it will not fit snugly. The 5 inch disc will have to be held in place with one hand while the other hand is used to operate the angle grinder. It is not recommended to use a 5 inch disc on a 4.5 inch angle grinder because it is not a safe practice.

Does RPM matter for angle grinder?

An angle grinder is a handheld power tool that can be used for a variety of different applications. One question that often comes up is whether or not the RPM (revolutions per minute) of the angle grinder matters. The answer to this question is yes and no. RPM does matter when it comes to the speed at which the angle grinder can perform its task. However, the power of the angle grinder is not solely determined by its RPM. Other factors such as the size of the grinding disc and the amount of pressure being applied also play a role

How do I choose a grinding wheel?

There are many factors to consider when choosing a grinding wheel. Some of the most important factors include the material you will be grinding, the size and shape of the workpiece, the type of grinding operation, and the desired finish. You will also need to consider the type of wheel, the abrasive material, the grit size, the wheel hardness, and the bond type.

3M Cubitron II Depressed Center Grinding Wheel, 64320, T27 Quick Change, 4-1/2 in x 1/4 in x 5/8-11 Review:

Amazingly, these grinding wheels. They cut hard and last incredibly well. How long the corner remains clearly delineated astounds me. These aren't for you if you prefer to complete your work by using the angle that develops on the rim of a grinding wheel. Look no further if you prefer wheels that complete the task more quickly and cost less per hour of grinding.

NC 4-Inch Concrete Turbo Diamond Grinding Cup Wheel for Angle Grinder 6 Segs Heavy Duty ,Yellow Review:

When I used to shop at home improvement stores, they asked between $70 and $100 for this kind of attachment! In locations where forms had holes, concrete cement that I had poured on my driveway for the installation of a gate opener had seeped through. I wished to smooth out these flaws and make the surface as smooth as possible. It was easy to attach the NC 4-Inch Concrete Turbo Diamond Grinding Cup to my grinder, and it worked quickly after a few passes. I was quite happy with the outcomes. To homeowners who perform routine maintenance and require a tool like this without going over budget, I wholeheartedly suggest this device.

Makita A-95956-25 36 Grit INOX Grinding Wheel (Pack of 25), 4-1/2" x 1/4" x 7/8" Review:

Grinding discs measuring 4-1/2" x 1/4" from Benchmark Abrasives have been my go-to choice. The Benchmark discs cost me around $1 each, and they were superior to HF.I recently purchased a number of Makita grinders, and after using the Benchmark discs extensively one day, I thought I would give one of the Makita discs a try. Wow! It was like utilizing something that was effective!I couldn't be happier after spending $47 for a 25-pack of Makita discs. They may cost twice as much as Benchmark, but because they cut three times as quickly and last at least three times as long, they are actually less than half as expensive.

3M Cubitron II Depressed Center Grinding Wheel T27 Quick Change, Ceramic Grain, 7" Diameter x 0.25" Thick, 36 Grit, 5/8"-11 Arbor (Pack of 1) Review:

I finally tested out these wheels; they are expensive, but 3M has never failed me down, and sometimes it pays to get the best.Performance: These wheels function unlike anything I've ever used; they grind material off at a high rate while not seeming to put as much strain on the grinder as they should.Durability and longevity: I've tried everything from high-end Metabo to junk from Harbor Freight, and these wheels compare well to the best of them in both categories. I've done a lot of grinding with just the first wheel, and it hardly shows signs of use. Without conducting a side-by-side comparison, I'd rank these wheels above those from Metabo and other elite producers.Value: This is where you need to do the math because they could not be the best deal available. Despite their excellent performance, they are twice as expensive as quality wheels from the neighborhood home shop (when purchased singly) and six to eight times as expensive when purchased in bulk online. No, they don't perform or last twice as well as wheels that cost half as much. They work better and last longer (in my experience, maybe 25–35% longer), but not by two times as long. I can purchase almost 8 times as many wheels compared to the best deal you can find buying in bulk online. These wheels don't perform nearly as well (50-60% as well) or last as long (40-50% as long), but even with the worst performance and durability losses, these still cost more than twice as much to complete the same task. If you're a shop working on bid jobs, you must take that into consideration. These make a lot of sense. Since the additional cost of these wheels is negligible in comparison to the increased labor expenses caused by utilizing lesser performance wheels, finishing the job more quickly will ultimately result in higher profits. Finding a bulk purchase on some good non-name brand wheels online is preferable if you don't need the performance increases since money is typically the major consideration for home/hobby users. For my purposes, I'll probably continue using good bulk wheels.

Holey Galahad See Through Disc Round Coarse Review:

unlike anything you've ever used, shapes wood! It moves material quite quickly, and the holes let you to see your progress as you work (if you've never used a tool like this). Without the holes, I've used an identical product before, and it performed well. But I was overjoyed when I got this one and could see what I was doing as I was doing it. Although using these kinds of instruments might be fairly risky, being able to watch your work further lowers the likelihood of an accident. This is the tool you need if you want to quickly and accurately move wood. Although some finishing work will be required, the time saved will more than make up for it. Holey Galahad! Conclusion: excellent tool for the money. Exactly as promised, everything worked. There hasn't been any tooth wear, so I think it will endure for a while. If this one ever wears out—which, unfortunately for the inventor, I don't think it will—I'd absolutely buy another one! Excellent product, reasonable pricing, and expected shipping (7-10 days.)

Makita A-95984-5 36 Grit INOX Grinding Wheel (Pack of 5), 4-1/2" x 1/4" x 5/8"-11 Review:

I run a steel manufacturing business, and I recently went shopping for my preferred grinding wheel. Considering material removal, wheel durability, and cost. Over the years, I've purchased a variety of wheels, but these far surpass the others in performance. These 5 inch wheels are used on powerful 4 inch grinders. Try them; you won't be sorry. I'm relieved that my hunt is over.

Bosch DC530H 5-Inch Diameter Turbo Row Diamond Cup Wheel with 5/8-11 Hub Review:

What can be said? Bosch tools are the most durable thing around. I used to get these at the Home Depot close to my house, but they no longer carry Bosch. And here at Amazon, I got a better offer! You can achieve a rather smooth finish with a little attention and a variable speed grinder. I removed 1/16" of concrete from roughly 80 square feet of floor space and cleaned about 200 square feet of brick surface.

Finally, you can consult with an expert to help you identify the wheel.

Is it OK to use a cut-off wheel as a grinder wheel?

A cut-off wheel is not the same as a grinding wheel and should not be used as one. A cut-off wheel is thinner and is not made to withstand the same amount of heat that a grinding wheel is. If you use a cut-off wheel as a grinder wheel, it will overheat and break.
