Due to the lack of a stove or oven in my fantastic Los Angeles apartment, I got the little angel food pan set. Which is what some would refer to as a significant setback for a cook like myself, but I enjoyed the location so much overall that I believed I could make do. I thus invested in a fantastic countertop convection oven, made a few little adjustments to my cake pans, etc., and produced some incredible creations. These tiny pans—I purchased two sets so that I would have a total of four—work great and fit perfectly in my upscale toaster oven. First time making angel food cake from scratch, I was a little perplexed about how to modify the temperature and cooking time for my little micro oven and mini angel food cake pans, but everything turned out just fine. I just set my oven to a temperature that is 25 degrees lower than usual, watched the tops of the cakes, and removed them when they were just beginning to faintly brown but were still springy.a wonderful flavor. cleanly cleaned. I haven't yet noticed any rust, although reading about it in a few reviews of other items. To release the cake and for simple cleanup, the bottom lifts out.fantastic stuff a great value. Who doesn't adore tiny cupcakes? I intend to use it shortly for a certain style of bundt cake!

I chose to replace my old pan with a new one because it was roughly 20 years old. This one appealed to me because it had the dimensions and features I needed. I never use the dishwasher and always wash it by hand.

This angel food cake pan is one I'm happy I picked. The cake removed from the pan with such ease after cooling that I found it hard to believe. The quality is excellent. It has greatly satisfied me. After reading the reviews, I decided on Calphalon, and I'm confident that I made the proper purchase. I would suggest it to my friend or anybody else searching for an angel food pan that is beautifully crafted.

"This pan is amazing, I tell you! WOW!!" ... As I opened the box and took the pan out, that was the very first thing that sprang to mind, and I even stated it out loud to myself (then very quickly looked around to make sure no one had seen me excitedly talking to myself about a PAN — ha ha ha) It seems considerably larger** than expected, is hefty and very solid, just as shiny as the pictures show it, and overall, looks and feels like it will survive for centuries!**This pan's interior diameter is just over 10 "and the central funnel measures a full 4 3/4" in diameter, with the outer edges being 4 1/8" deep. The pan's exterior diameter is 10 1/2 ", which gives it a bigger appearance than I anticipated... However, I am GLAD about it, not upset... In September 2013: Exactly 18 cups of whatever you put in this pan will fit. That fills it up to the TOP rim, which is clearly higher than you will ever fill it, but it still shows how enormous it is.I can't wait to put it to use... This particular brand of metal pan is THE BEST for baking "traditional angel food cakes" with. The majority of contemporary pans are either composed of thick, molded oven-safe plastic or have that "non-stick" coating. NONE of which produce more than a "half-way acceptable" angel food cake due to the improper heating characteristics of those sorts of pans. In order to achieve the moistness that commercial bakeries can't seem to replicate, angel food cakes require very little stirring or folding of the batter. They also require the pan to heat up and cook the outside of the cake to a "golden brown" color without burning it or overcooking the inside, which also ruins them. In my humble opinion, ONLY this particular style of metal pan can achieve that.Sept 2013 EDIT: I've used it several times, and each time, it is AMAZING and produces a flawless angel food cake. When I was a child, my mother used a pan remarkably identical to this one to make the most amazing angel food cakes! Over the years, she used it several times to create cakes that were extremely delicious and incredibly moist, with the most exquisite exterior browning. I ate it plain since it was so juicy that it virtually melted in your mouth, no frosting necessary! Her pan outlasted her, which is uncommon for modern cookware, and I anticipate that mine (this new one) will do the same! In fact, mine will probably do better as it is much more durable than hers, which has sustained some dings over the years. It is made up of ONE PIECE... This is significant because it eliminates the absurdity of "spring pans" in which the bottom pops out (and they leak all over the oven when well used)... There are no seams inside the pan or on the base, thus this will never leak because it is obviously molded into its construction.I bought two of them, one for myself and one for one of my daughters who had requested one as a gift; now that I've got one, I want to buy a third one for my other daughter. While attending medical school, my second daughter works as a professional baker and caterer, and I can tell from the way it feels that she will surely consider this a pan suitable for use in her line of business.EDIT September 2013: My daughters both use and adore theirs as well!YMMV, but I couldn't be happier with mine! In the event that, I will EDIT my review to reflect the change. But given that this is exactly the "correct feel" of an ideal angel food cake pan, I utterly doubt that it will change.EDIT May 2013: The pan is exactly what I anticipated it to be, but there is also a warning: NEVER PUT THIS IN THE DISHWASHER. It damages the design and finish (but not its use)... Otherwise, this is a fantastic pan and well worth the price!

Both using and cleaning this pan was simple. Although it comes in two pieces, it is fine. A chocolate banana bundt cake that my husband and I prepared (actually, two bundt cakes because we didn't fill the pan as much as we might have) was delicious. After buttering the pan, the cakes easily slid off when we turned it upside down to remove them. Since it's in two sections, I was afraid the cake batter might leak through and spill out across my counter, but that didn't happen. Even though it did leak a little bit, it was contained and stayed at the bottom (but easily came off). Great pan for the money, and it looks just like the picture.

When I ordered this pan, I was concerned about its light weight, weak feet, and leakage. However, I've had success with the Fox Run brand and have generally ignored them. They were all transient. The reviewers who raised the issues must have been writing about something else. This pan is of good quality. It weighs the same as other things I possess. To avoid having to find a bottle to support the cake when it was turned upside down, I wanted a pan with feet. The feet were useless despite being made of 1/16-inch aluminum that is heavy duty and would be impossible to bend. My cake was too tall, and the feet were too short. When the time came for the cake to come out of the oven, I found myself fumbling for a glass bottle or anything else that wasn't plastic to support the cake. The pan is leak-free. To clean it, I filled it with water. For this reason, a non-stick could be preferable, although I'm not sure if it would give me the same significant rise.
Yes, you can make angel food cake in a regular baking pan. The cake will be taller and the top will be flatter, but it will still be delicious.
Yes, you can make angel food cake without a bundt pan. You will need a tube pan with a removable bottom.
Some people like to flip angel food cake upside down when they serve it. This allows the cake to cool evenly and prevents it from sticking to the pan.
No, angel food cake does not have to be in a tube pan. It can be baked in any pan that is appropriate for the size of the cake.
To clean an angel food cake pan, start by removing the cake from the pan. Then, use a pastry brush to remove any loose crumbs from the pan. Next, fill the pan with warm water and a mild dish soap. Let the pan soak for 10 minutes, then use a non-abrasive sponge to scrub the pan clean. Finally, rinse the pan with warm water and dry it with a clean towel.
If your angel food cake pan is leaking, there are a few things you can do to stop it. First, make sure that the pan is properly greased. If the pan is not greased, the cake will stick to it and the batter will leak out. Second, make sure that the cake pan is level. If the pan is not level, the cake will not bake evenly and the batter will leak out. Finally, make sure that the cake pan is not overfilled. If the pan is overfilled, the cake will not cook properly and the batter will leak out.
