Bolt cutters and cable cutters are two different tools. Bolt cutters are designed to cut through bolts, nails, and other metal fasteners, while cable cutters are designed to cut through wires and cables. Both tools are useful for different purposes, and it’s important to choose the right tool for the job at hand.
Bolt cutters and wire cutters may look similar, but they are actually designed for different purposes. Bolt cutters are typically much larger and have thicker jaws, making them ideal for cutting through tougher materials like metal bolts and chains. Wire cutters, on the other hand, are designed for cutting through softer materials like electrical wire and wire mesh.
Bolt cutters are a very versatile tool that can be used to cut many different materials, including wire rope. While bolt cutters are not the ideal tool for cutting wire rope, they can be used in a pinch. The main thing to keep in mind when using bolt cutters to cut wire rope is to make sure that the jaws of the bolt cutters are lined up correctly. If the jaws are not lined up correctly, the wire rope can slip and cause the bolt cutters to close on your fingers.
Yes, you can cut old cable lines. However, you will need to use a special cutting tool to do so. You can find these tools at most hardware stores.

I've used it to cut rope, web straps, and washcloth labels. In the past, I had to cut with a knife or pair of scissors, melt the end with a torch, and then mold it at some risk to myself. The Thermal Blade made cutting simple, secure, and effective. Additionally, contouring has been simple.I received it when I bought it for a web strap and rope. I chose to test it on the washcloths after realizing that it was also for fabric. It was incredible. I bought it out of curiosity and had no idea how handy it would be for general cutting, cauterizing material ends, and reducing fraying of whatever it cuts.

In my first photo, you can see a Shimano cable housing with two cuts. These Knipex made the clean one, while Park Tools made the other.Park's cutters are a fantastic pair of pliers, but these are of an entirely different caliber. According to what I've heard, Felco makes excellent ones. These easily and exceedingly cleanly cut...After the wound healed, I didn't need to use an awl to clear it out because it was completely round. The crimpers are excellent, the lock functions well, and they cut through bare steel cable without fraying.I saw in one of their reviews that cutting wire required a lot of effort; however, I doubt it was 1.2 or 1.8 mm bike cables as that would require minimal manual labor. When it comes to bicycle cables, I have to presume that anyone who has an issue with them doesn't know what they're doing or is just lying. Or are they just a wimp? I don't know, but if you want the best or intend to use these professionally, this is the way to go because Park is subpar and costs an additional $10–$15. Simply put, German steel is superior.

As a pastime, I make custom vehicles, and this is primarily used to cut the wire loom. I installed a foot switch after using this tool for one work session. The unit's possible longer lifespan is worth the brief warming time, plus I don't have to worry about forgetting it turned on. The item is well-made, and using the screw holes in the base, I mounted it to my work bench where I perform my wiring.I've had this cutter for over two months, and I use it frequently. I frequently transport the cutter from my business to friends' shops and never experience any dependability concerns.I can only guess that the people who left unfavorable reviews are either particularly harsh on things or the mounting screws managed to come apart from the blade. Before using the cutter for the first time, I double-checked the screws because it functions similarly to a soldering iron and requires a strong connection. If this item vanished from my toolbox, I would get a replacement right away.

I decided to give in and buy these after growing weary of attempting to cut through some of the heavier cables I use for my Ham Radio station. After using them for a while, I realize how much I should have bought them years ago. These cutters work well, are sturdy, sharp, and it is clear that they will last a lifetime. They simplify what used to be a difficult task. They accomplish this by simply and rapidly severing my cords, which saves them time. They enable me to attach the various adapters, which are also expensive, from a wonderful beginning point and without having to bother about reworking the ends beforehand, saving me money. As a result, my cables now begin with very clean, straight cuts.Five stars, excellent equipment, affordable price, and well worth the investment if you need to cut any significant cables.
If you don't have a wire cutter, you can use a sharp knife to cut the wire. Place the wire on a cutting board, and use a sawing motion to cut through the wire.
If you need to strip wire without a wire cutter, you can use a sharp knife or a pair of scissors. First, find the spot where you need to make your cut. Then, use your knife or scissors to carefully cut through the insulation. Be careful not to cut into the wire itself. Once you've cut through the insulation, you can peel it away from the wire.
Wire cutters are a cutting tool used to cut wires. They are also called wire snips or wire cutters. Wire cutters are available in different sizes, and the size of the cutter determines the thickness of the wire it can cut. The smaller the cutter, the thinner the wire it can cut.
There are many types of wire cutters available on the market, but the most common are flush cutters and side cutters. Flush cutters have blades that are flush with the handles, while side cutters have blades that protrude from the handles. Both types of wire cutters are used for cutting wire, but side cutters are better suited for cutting thicker wire.
Wire cutters are also called wire snips. They are a type of scissors used to cut wire. They usually have two blades, one serrated and one not, and can cut through both soft and hard wire.
If you need to cut wire, the best tool to use is a wire cutter. Wire cutters are specifically designed to cut through wire quickly and easily. They have sharp blades that can handle a variety of different wire thicknesses. Plus, wire cutters are small and compact, so they’re easy to carry around with you.
