What a great meter this is! Since I'm a cheap guy, I've owned a number of inexpensive PH meters over the years, but this one is by far the best. When the meter first arrived, I checked the calibration with 6.86 calibration solution, and to my astonishment, it displayed 6.85 right out of the box without needing to be calibrated. It consistently provides you with a quick, precise, and stable reading. I was going to purchase two more because I'm so pleased with this product, but it appears that they have already been purchased. Bummer!

Accuracy is difficult to find at a reasonable price, as would be expected with this kind of delicate equipment. Get a pricey meter if you require extremely precise readings in a variety of materials, from those that are strongly acidic to those that are highly alkaline. This works well if you simply need to test a specific consistent substance. I use it to help me monitor the concentration of dissolved CO2 in my planted freshwater CO2 aquarium (an acid). I had no trouble calibrating this instrument to the low and high solutions, but I discovered that it was never able to reliably measure or calibrate to both at the same time. It only appears to accurately read one spectrum at a time. Either it accurately measures low pH but is inaccurate on high alkaline readings, or the opposite is true. I calibrated the meter to match a pH titration kit at those numbers since I generally read results between 6-7.5 pH, and it works well. However, I wouldn't trust the results of this without recalibration if I were to randomly test the pH of a strong acid.

I'm by no means qualified to work in a lab or an atmosphere requiring industrial hygiene, but I did spend my time dealing with various instruments. It took me four or five tries to calibrate it because the instructions can be a little perplexing (especially before morning coffee), but once I did, it appeared set.It should be noted that I've only had it for about 48 hours, so this is just a preliminary evaluation.Disclosure: The business offers you free calibration solution as compensation (or perhaps as a bribe) for leaving an Amazon review. Now, I believe that this is more than fair because they make no mention of the type of review you post and because it can be challenging for businesses to get people to submit reviews on products that aren't broken or garbage. The unfavorable aspect of so many of these tests on Amazon is that when you read the evaluations, you'll discover that the manufacturer has altered the product and that the positive ratings are actually for a different item. traditional bait and switch lure you in with a glowing review before trying to offer you trash. Vanatkool treated me in that manner and ignored my communications.Poit is not like that; when I had a straightforward issue, the company's owner replied to my email within a few hours. I understand that you can't always expect service that quickly, but it still astounded me and made it clear to me that this lady genuinely cared about her clients' opinions. Not to mention that her ph tester received positive evaluations rather than a car part or anything else.One thing about me is that I, perhaps in an old-fashioned way, show devotion to a business that treats me well, and Poit did that. My issue was resolved within a day or so, which I thought was wonderful. Now I have a product that works and good customer service to go with it. I already know where to go if I ever need another item similar to this ph tester.If you've ever used these, calibration is as easy as mixing 250ml of deionized water with the ph solution powder and heating it to precisely 25 celsius, which is, I believe, 77 degrees Fahrenheit. The calibration process only requires a brief period of button holding. There are two different ph powders you may use to increase the accuracy of your pen through calibration, but I don't need mine to be extremely accurate, so I only calibrate to 6.86. I like instruments that are simple to calibrate and use because I don't want to have to become a chemist to maintain our pool. The instructions were really clear and this was simple to use. Based on a comparison with a known water sample, it appears to be accurate. on the basis of my comparison with an established water sample.In addition to convenience of use, I also desire accurate information, thus I greatly prefer getting a specific reading over the range that the strips only offer.The only minor issue I have is that it takes a bit longer than I would want to get used to its reading.

After having a bad experience attempting to buy one of those 4 in 1 stick PH meters, this product exceeds my expectations. The stick PH meter was the first item I ordered, and after clicking "Purchase," I discovered that it was a drop shipment and that delivery would take three weeks. The Amazon listing mentioned arrival within two days but said nothing about three weeks. It wasn't even cushioned or packed in bubble wrap; the shipment was transported from China in a plastic garbage bag. Mind you, the package contains a long, thin probe, and it was smashed. I ordered both meters three days ago, and today they both arrived.One was shipped by Amazon in a box meant for shipping, whereas the other was shipped from China crushed in a plastic rubbish bag. Here's a review of the product. Along with a delivery box, this meter also came with a reliable storage case. I call attention to the strong housing since the meter is fastened in brackets inside of it, preventing rattling (rattling not good for sensitive lab equipment). The right batteries were supplied. You are aware of the kind of batteries that a typical household would not keep in the kitchen drawer (meaning take a trip to wally world). It comes with an additional package of four button-style batteries, and it takes four of those. In other words, I could utilize it immediately away. Unlike the meter hidden inside a rubbish bag on a slow boat from China. I put the batteries in, calibrated it, and completed a task that was due two weeks ago.The only critique is that you should expect to read the instructions numerous times if you are unfamiliar with this kind of lab equipment and must use them. The product is created in China, and the English-language instructions are included. Although reading American Chinese is yet another language we are required to master, the Chinese do not think like Americans. I can't wait to be able to purchase American goods once more, especially ones with instructions written in American English and created by Americans. With that said, this meter is a good investment. The stick meters should remain in the trash bag where they belong.Please excuse my outburst. To make up for it, here is how to use this meter to test your soil for those who require one who are equally annoyed with stick meters. Simply fill a glass jar with your soil and an equivalent amount of distilled water that is above and above what is absorbed, then give the container a good shake. After around 30 minutes, shake the extract one more. Place the liquid (extract) in a different glass jar and use this meter to test it. Yes, it takes more time, but this is the EPA approach if you want a precise PH reading ( I read that somewhere).One final nugget. Be careful now that drop shippers are permitted by every large box retailer. They won't provide you the prepaid return sticker if you need to return your product. Additionally, returning items to China frequently results in higher shipping costs. I made a pricey mistake and now I won't purchase anything that isn't transported straight by big box.

If you want to be sure that your nutrients are at the proper PH, get this. More accurate than liquid or soil testing, it is as accurate as they come. These are precise to the hundredths of a place. If necessary, a calibration kit is included as well. As my error is only.01 out of the box, I don't bother fixing it. For the purpose of my application, it's near enough.
