The case turned out to be good if you just take care and open it the right way; the first time I opened it, all the sockets fell out because it was flipped upside down, which made me hesitant to order this set. The quality is nice; I recently did my car brake job with it; I can't complain about it at that price. However, I have another socket set that is pretty sticky and I don't like it for that exact reason, so just be careful to lay it flat and everything will be good and remain in place.

I was only looking for sockets because I already have screwdriver sets, wrench sets, and other tools. My most recent set, which I purchased from a store that starts and finishes with "S," disappointed me in terms of quality. It was convenient to have everything I needed in its proper location and to be able to see the socket size without having to turn my rig just so to read the "laser etching" when I changed the water pump in my vehicle this morning. Despite being heavier than most, the ratchets are quite ergonomic and easy to use for extended periods of time. I did receive a duplicate socket, but after speaking with customer service on Dewalt's "Live Chat" for less than five minutes, the issue was resolved, and the correct socket is now on its way to me. Please check for duplicates as I saw in another review that someone had the same problem and received two 18 mm 1/2 inch deep well sockets rather than a 19mm. Moreover, one of the sockets would occasionally fail to lock into the casing and fall out. I stuck a small piece of rubber into the gap, and now it snaps in firmly and remains there. If the case tips over, they are secured firmly in place and won't fall out (unlike my previous set). When you have work to do, there is nothing worse than finding sockets all over the place. There is no concern that the case may open while being transported because of the clasps on the front and sides.Overall, I'm thrilled with the purchase and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Let me state that I have examined every component. All of the spring-loaded balls are in place, the parts fit together properly, and the chrome finish is lovely. Therefore, even though I haven't really utilized them, this kit appears to be an assemblage of good-quality parts. These are not intended to be used with large impact wrenches. To prevent breaking, impact drive/sockets are composed of a thicker, actually softer steel. Since the torque of the impact wrench could cause the chrome to flake off, they are rarely chrome plated. Numerous reviews have been written on the packaging, so I knew it would be difficult. The separate PCs are loosely arranged in the plastic "tray" as seen in the accompanying photo. Getting the top piece of plastic off (which is hidden by the red cardboard cover) is difficult. With a good pair of shears and some careful cutting, you can remove the top layer to reveal a very attractive tray that you can use to store the pieces if you so desire. A large screwdriver, putty knife, or chisel will be needed to pry apart the heat-welded areas as you peel back the top layer. The hardest part is right here. Hope this was useful.

Unfortunately, when I first bought this item, I also experienced a misassembled ratchet (and was unable to enter the parts), like some other people here. However, I promptly exchanged it as defective and the next set was great thanks to Amazon's return policy.For Apex, this kit is produced in Taiwan. A lifetime warranty is provided. The guarantee will be void if the tool is misused against frozen bolts or screws since it is regarded to be utilized for precision work.So far, the ratchet appears to be sturdy. The smaller end (1/4" bit) has 60 teeth, while the bigger end (5/16" bit / 1/4" driver) has 72 teeth. These two have enough of teeth to ratchet in confined spaces. A press fit that is reasonably tight keeps the bits and adaptor in place.Again, tight places are made possible by the 6-point sockets' attachment via a 1/4" adapter, which enables the sockets to be flush with the ratchet. I decided to treat myself to a new set of tools, probably the last set I'll ever need to buy, after purchasing a new project car (a BMW E30).DeWalt is known for producing durable hand tools, and they stand by their reputation with a lifetime warranty. It's comforting to know I'm insured even though I can't see ever needing to replace these tools.The spanners' offset head shape works well with tight tolerances because it lessens the likelihood that bolts will round off and makes them small enough to go into tight spaces. The shafts have a slight ergonomic design that resists slipping along their length. It appears to be perfectly straight yet contains extremely little finger-friendly ridges. Although you wouldn't see it in the pictures, they actually feel comfortable in your hands when using them. When you hold them, you'll comprehend.The tools' etching and engraving are both simple to read and provide satisfying tactile feedback. Only one of my spanners (seen in picture) had a minor depression removed from the head, which definitely shouldn't have gotten past quality control. In order to inquire about replacing it, I'll call DeWalt. The chrome polish is superb other from that.Many of the sockets have already been used, and they worked properly. When in use, the ratchets make a beautiful, solid "click."
