These grips would be ideal for a young child who has some knowledge of proper pencil holding. This evaluation is for the model of Butterfly Pencil Grip.My five-year-old daughter has struggled with her pencil hold for the past two years and has picked up some poor habits as a result. Many conventional tools, including triangular grips, as well as more modern ones, like finger "claw" grips or molded putty grips, have been tried by our team. Update: Initially, I gave them three stars because I didn't like them, but it's obvious that other people love them and you could too, so... Because I wasn't receiving their emails, customer support kept getting in touch with me. They informed me that they would offer me a 100% refund at no cost to me because I wasn't satisfied and that their goods comes with a 12-month warranty. That's what I mean by service, now! So they will make it right if you try them and don't like them. And they'll try again if they can't reach you. Excellent!The other 2 fingers can't truly rest flush on the middle finger because of the back hook. I've seen pencil grips that support this way of holding the pencil but do not clearly distinguish the middle finger from the ring and pinky fingers.

All of my tutoring clients request to use these grips because they're just so cute, even though their handwriting ranges from painful to watch to fairly nice. (I only wish I could purchase the tie-dye set that everyone is clamoring for!)They don't *help* my kids who already have good grips, and because they're a little bulky, they might even make their handwriting less than perfect while they're using them. On the other side, these pencil grips are *amazing* for kids who hold their pencils like baseball bats or Coke cans. Since the owls are so adorable, they don't seem to mind that their fingers are being forced into the proper postures (alternative grips may be more pleasant, but they still permit harmful habits). Although it does take some time and effort to retrain their behaviors so that the proper grip is retained when writing even without the use of the tiny owls, it's a really useful tool.And many of my pupils have texted me to ask me where they can find owls to use at home.

They are a huge assistance! When he writes, my preschooler uses very little pressure and has awful hand placement. These are what I bought for my daughter. He would grip his pencil with his entire hand and is three and a half years old. He was able to hold his pencil correctly thanks to these pencil grips. I'll keep working with him and am confident that eventually he will be writing independently without the use of grips. This product has my heart. I was looking for a journal that my kindergartener could use to draw a picture and then write a sentence about it, like the ones they use in school, and this one fits the bill. It is ideal; my son has been using it for a few weeks and he adores it. Each day we make a new entry, and on the extra lines, he fills out his name and practice words, among other things. It's a terrific approach to make home education more professional and make it simple to track his growth as a writer and artist over the course of the year.
