OLFA RTY-2/C 45mm Splash Rotary Cutter Review:

I just started sewing. I was dying to get a rotary cutter after watching every instruction I could find. I made a hasty decision to buy my first one, primarily based on the color and the fact that it was easily accessible at a nearby store. It was awful. It was difficult to cut straight, and it hardly ever managed to cut through two thin layers of 100% cotton. I was advised to purchase an Olfa by a woman who worked at the fabric business. She claimed that throughout her many years there, only two customers had ever returned an Olfa. I felt I might as well try a different brand since this was just $10, and I really like it! I attempted to cut through four layers of 100% cotton, and it did it without any issues. The blade is razor-sharp and produces clean cuts. The safety feature appeals to me as well. I don't have to worry about cutting myself because it's so simple to store the blade when not in use (my first rotary cutter accidentally ran over my finger, but that's okay, I'm clumsy).

OLFA Splash Rotary Cutter Purple 45mm, Purple Review:

I'm new to the rotary cutter, and I couldn't be happier with my brand-new Olfa Rotary Cutters! I got the deluxe handle and this one from Amazon. When cutting circles or angles, they are incredibly accurate, smooth, sharp, and simple—much better than scissors on medium-lightweight fabrics. I appreciate Amazon making my purchasing simple.

Olfa 45mm Deluxe Handle Rotary Cutter Review:

Why I like it: Before choosing which rotary cutter to purchase, I considered a number of important factors. Because of how sharp these blades are, safety had to be given top attention. I wanted one whose blade completely retracted and offered complete edge protection when retracted. I also needed one that would protect my pressing index finger in case I unintentionally slid and with anti-slip grips. I don't want to press my finger against the blade's top when pressing in. That would hurt so much!In order to avoid using the lock, I also wanted the blade to expand and retract when the handle was squeezed and released. The manufacturers advise that I release the lock before setting it down, therefore doing this would be the safest option. However, I also wanted to keep a lock on hand in case I made any oddly shaped turns or cuts. Without a lock, it would be more harder for me to maneuver around corners while keeping the blade extended. Any lock would put my finger or thumb in danger, thus it had to also provide protection against the blade slipping into my finger or thumb. It was also crucial to have a soft grip handle to reduce strain. In addition, some of us begin to have hand arthritis as we age. I'm not there yet, but if I think about it now and make plans for it, I won't need to replace my cutter with one that is better for my arthritis if I get there.I enjoy having hooks for stuff. It keeps things organized, makes items much easier to find than if they were stored in a drawer, and, like this, gives an additional layer of safety over reaching into a drawer without anyone seeing you. This particular model includes a beautiful hook for hanging.Last but not least, I wanted a reliable brand name for longevity, blade replacement, and warranty. I didn't want to make an investment in a brand I didn't know and then later regret it. Spending a little bit more now will prevent me from having to replace it later and wasting money.I didn't really want much, did I? I finally chose this option after doing much research, and I'm glad I did. Just why it took me so long to purchase one of these is beyond me.Size: maximum 2 12" with blade retracted and 6 12" lengthDoes excellent straight and clean cuts. Very simple to use, even enjoyable. makes fabric cutting quick, precise, and simple. Don't use scissors. If you combine this with a cutting mat and a long straight ruler, you are prepared to move quickly. There are none. There are no suggestions for improvement.Would I purchase again?Yes.Questions

Olfa Deluxe Rotary Cutter (60mm) Review:

This was a gift for my mum, who enjoys quilting a lot. She was looking for ergonomic scissors that were more relaxing and didn't give her hands any hand cramps. I discovered these and believed she would enjoy them as well. This rotary cutter is her favorite. She currently solely uses this one. It cuts through more layers of fabric than any of her prior rotary cutters and is incredibly pleasant for her to use. I don't do much quilting, so I can't really comment on her work, but she creates hundreds of quilts every year for family, friends, and coworkers, as well as for charitable organizations. She even schedules her vacations around sewing workshops. She also gushes about this tiny item, so I can only assume that it is truly a treasure for any quilter. I suggest this if you're searching for a gift for a quilter or if you're a quilter seeking for something cozy and well-made.

Fiskars Crafts Review:

Since I bought this rotary cutter in September, I have been using it. This cutter is excellent! Over 750 clothing have already been cut through by it. A minimum of four parts are cut out of each garment. The clothing is divided into 4 to 6 pieces in addition to any components that are cut through and removed, such as elastic waistbands, zipper pulls, and button plackets. That much trimming is a lot. On this day, December 8th, after three months, more than 750 garments, and probably more than 3000 slices, I am STILL using the same original blade that the rotary cutter came with! All I can say is that, barring an actual flaw in the construction or assembly of a specific Fiskars Rotary Cutter or its blade [these mishaps, i.e., "duds," do occur in industry], the problem lies with the user and their technique rather than the rotary cutter itself. Try holding the blade down at waist level, handle at navel level, and the handle at an angle. It shouldn't be run parallel to the object being sliced.I assure you that it is not a dull blade, except a "dud."Without a doubt, I'd suggest this item. In fact, I'm placing a new order since I need a second Fiskars Rotary Cutter. I work with a partner who cuts for me. This rotary cutter has won her over as well. Everybody wants their own. We now possess two rotary cutters. This facilitates an easy and quick completion of the task.

WA Portman Rotary Fabric Cutter I 45mm Premium Steel Contour Cutter with Safety Lock I For Crafting Sewing Quilting Fabric Vinyl Paper Leather Cardboard I Includes 5 Easy to Install Replacement Blades Review:

This cutter is brand-new to me, but I immediately adore it. This is my third set of cutters, but it's now my favorite. During the first set, I developed the undesirable habit of pressing down on the blade with my pointer finger while cutting. Due to the lack of a protection over the top of the blade on the second set, I had to actively remind myself not to stretch my finger over the top even after receiving many cuts. This blade has a fantastic guard over the top that prevents it from being a problem, and when I release it, it also retracts the blade on its own. I adore it.

45mm Rotary Cutter Set, AGPtEK Pink Rotary Cutter with 7 Replacement Rotary Blades, Rotary Blades & Safety Lock for Precise Cutting, Ideal for Sewing Fabric Leather Quilting & More Review:

I've been knitting sweaters for the several dogs owned by some of the homeless people in my neighborhood. Some are made from fleece blankets, and I make them from donated sweatshirts and sweaters. I cut a lot, and the first pair of cordless scissors I tried were too noisy and unable to cut through the fleece or sweaters. I've saved a ton of time with this tool. It's really sharp and nice to wield. The extra blades are nice, too.

I adore my new rotary cutter so much! Because it's not a "known" brand, I was a little hesitant, but I am SO glad I took a chance on this!Plus, I got 5 extra blades. OLFA 9911 CMP-1 Compass Circle Cutter Review:

Whatever you may think, it was a terrific tool for cutting precise circles out of nylon material, paper, and pictures. Work just like a circle compass; only be careful not to press down too firmly on the blade when cutting.Use it on a wooden surface and revolve the compass slowly while holding the material in your left hand. The first time around, avoid attempting to gouge your way through. Once you've established a rhythm, go around a few times, pressing a little harder each time. Whether I was doing the second, third, or tenth lap around the circle, I had no issues with the blade wandering. Simply have a steady hand. I've made hundreds of cuts, however when it comes to heavy inkjet cardstock, I'm still using the second blade. This works well if you take your time. I can understand how it might be challenging to cut fabric with this, but you should be able to do it if you pin the fabric around the region you're cutting to prevent it from slipping. Stretchable materials perhaps not so much.

How do I choose a rotary cutter?

There are a few things to consider when choosing a rotary cutter. The size of the cutter will be determined by the project you are working on. The blade should be sharp and made of a durable material. You will also want to consider the handle of the cutter. Some have a ergonomic design for comfort and others have a safety guard to protect your fingers.

How many layers of fabric can you cut with a rotary cutter?

A rotary cutter can cut through multiple layers of fabric at once, making it a quick and easy way to cut large pieces of fabric. The number of layers that a rotary cutter can handle will depend on the blade size and the type of fabric. Generally, a rotary cutter can cut through six to eight layers of quilting cotton.

How often should you change your rotary cutter blade?

You should change your rotary cutter blade when it starts to wear down or get dull. You can tell it's time to change the blade when it starts to skip or tear the fabric instead of cutting it cleanly.

Is it worth buying a rotary cutter?

If you are someone who sews a lot or likes to do crafts, then a rotary cutter can be a very useful tool. It can make cutting fabric much easier and faster than using scissors. It is also great for cutting other materials like paper, vinyl, and even foam. So, if you do a lot of projects that require cutting, then a rotary cutter is definitely worth the investment.

Is Olfa a good rotary cutter?

What are the two types of rotary cutters?
