After using Charlie's Soap Laundry Powder, I bought Nellie's All Natural Laundry Soda. If this one did any better than Charlie's, I was interested to know. They are both entirely organic. The product is unquestionably the finest for removing stains from textiles. It cannot be compared to the cloth whitener Oxyclean. A combination of enzymes called "biz" eats the proteins and other substances that go into making stains. I wash children's clothes, which become soiled from all types of food, plants, dirt, and bodily fluids. I keep a two-gallon bucket with water and half a scoop of Biz in it, into which I dump all the soiled white socks in addition to adding Biz to every wash. I throw the socks and soaking liquid into the washer with other whites to make a full load, add detergent, and run the wash after they've soaked for a few days. The socks I once left soaking for a month turned out great. Biz works best in hot or warm water, as with all washing solutions, but I also use it in cold washes. The best product still available, it dissolves well.Although I have a front-loading HE washer, I have long since stopped using HE washing products. I became tired of having to wash at least half of each load again. And there were still some stains that showed through. Since I've been using powdered detergent and Biz for years, my washer hasn't suffered. (Before adding the clothing, I add the detergent and Biz to the washer along with 1 T of citric acid to help with the hard water. In the initial rinse, I also include 1 T of citric acid.) And in the majority of washing, nothing retains any stains.I've never been given free goods in exchange for reviews. I wrote about Biz to let people know about a fantastic product.

I had forgotten how many uses there are for borax. When you have good borax powder on hand, you have an affordable, trustworthy, odor-free, chemically simple, and stable all-purpose helper. I used it religiously years ago in the laundry, garbage disposal, trash bins, on carpets, in closets, and in vehicles. It is effective anywhere dank odors can accumulate. It keeps spiders and pests out of storage and garage boxes, helps keep cat boxes fresh, works well in barns and stables, and works well on concrete. Have you ever noticed that after a few weeks folded on the shelf, no matter how crisp, bleached, and Febreezed the bed linens were when you kept them, when you go to change the sheets, eww, there's that faint smelly wiff of morning breath and scalp? (Yes, everyone experiences that, lol) It tempts you to return them to the washer and dryer, or perhaps to give them to a charity or rag-bag, but resist the urge! Simply begin adding borax to your washer, and the stench will disappear. I even manufacture sachets (from cut pieces of old panty hose) that are packed with clay litter and borax in equal amounts. After a long day, just slip into a pair of winter boots and sneakers; they attract moisture and stink like a magnet! There is no replacement for it around the house once you have investigated its possibilities. Quality, however, DOES MATTER. Sadly, the product on retail shelves appears to have degraded over time, becoming more chalk-powdery, dusty, and less crystalline, and (to be honest) not really worth the mess it now creates. So, even though I was hesitant, I was hopeful when I discovered Millard's Borax here on Amazon. and was not let down:) I have a go-to solution around the house once more. It's clean and brilliant, it dissolves well in the washer, and no carpet powder compares to it. Oh, and did I mention that it also controls fleas? Additionally, there won't be ultrafine particles to clog the vacuum, crusty residue to leave on countertops, or blobs of substance left in the washing or on wet garments. And it's environmentally friendly and septic-safe. Why not adore it? I hate to say it because, in general, I want to support local businesses, but this design is superior to Tidy Cup at a much lower price. The cause? This collects drips that may happen from both the spout and the spout's rim. At Costco, I purchased a detergent with a leaking bottom cap (where the spout is attached). Since I now have two detergents in the house—one that is hypoallergenic for me and another that has a strong aroma for my active husband—this caught all of those drips while Tidy Cup (which I had previously purchased) did not. I've been buying Molly's Suds on a regular basis for the past year or so since I truly like it.Synthetic soaps and scents greatly irritate the skin of numerous members of our family who have sensitivity. Zum and Molly's are two laundry soaps that we may use without any issues.Buying this plus Indigo Wild or "Zum" frankincense and patchouli is a difficult decision for me.The price is the primary deterrent for me from using Zum. Zum is expensive for a family of six, and it is actually just useful for mopping or washing sheets and blankets that will be stored.But I seem to have lost my way! I appreciate that Molly's only has natural ingredients. I enjoy that when I wash my clothing, they just smell clean—not like some artificial perfume or flower from a tropical rainforest.My garments feel clean after they are finished. If I used Zum for an extended period of time, I observed that it would coat my clothes and make them feel strange. Synthetic textiles would also start to smell like a wet dog. (Possibly from the soap with a coconut basis.) Molly's removes the film from the clothes and gives them a fresh look.Additionally, my washing machine had developed a musty mildew smell, and despite my best efforts to scrub it, nothing changed. The scent vanished after using Molly's exclusively for a month. So, in the end, I think a powder-based soap is best for your machine. However, this is only my observation and viewpoint.I love using this laundry soap since my clothing come out clean and have maintained their colors. I'm not convinced if the loads per bag measurements are accurate. Considering that I kept track of it for one month and completed less loads than anticipated, I believe it to be more approximative. *** Updated on 5/24/2019 ***I recently learned about the "heavy" setting on my front-loading washer, which is hard to believe. Because the instruction handbook stated to use it on color-fast/sturdy fabrics, I've always been hesitant to use it. I started using it on my husband's work clothing and noticed that it used a lot less water and cleaned his clothes incredibly well. Now that I wash all of our clothes on that cycle, I also use the permanent press setting, which uses a lot more water than the "regular" setting, for my work attire. Since making this adjustment, I have been using Charlie's soap as directed, and the results have been amazing. I don't believe our clothing have ever been this clean. Our clothing are so soft now that I don't use dryer sheets (sorry, I suppose they contributed to the residue feel). I will always use Charlie's Soap!Sadly, I had to stop using Charlie's Soap because it ceased working for me at that point, and it had been lying on a shelf in my laundry room for quite some time. Ever since I purchased my front-load washer, I have had a love-hate connection with it. When I had my regular washer, if the load was particularly dirty, I would use a scoop to a scoop and a half. I used around a scoop of detergent when I first received my front load high efficiency (FL HE) washer, and my clothes still had residue on them. The Charlie's Soap website even instructs you to use a quantity of detergent for the weight or size of the load, not based on whether it is a high efficiency or a conventional washer, so that is what I did. However, this confused me, so I didn't follow their advice. As a result, the apparel became dirty, scratchy, and less than fresh. Although I got really decent results, I hated how messy it was so I stopped using the liquid Charlie's and used only approximately a tablespoon, which is half the recommended amount. After trying Nellie's, which rinsed more thoroughly but lacked stain-fighting strength, I attempted Molly's, which was much worse. Then I was talking (or whining) to a friend of mine who uses Norwex's UPP and who also has a FL HE washer. She claimed she uses between a half and a full teaspoon of the UPP per load. That was difficult for me to understand, but she was making the point that you can't expect a HE washer to work properly with too much detergent when it consumes so little water. Stains and grime cannot be effectively cleaned and rinsed away because the detergent cannot rinse clean. The reasoning was sound because I am aware of how little water my FL'er uses during a typical wash cycle—I can't even see the water level. I finally made the decision to follow my friend's suggestion, even though it was initially quite difficult for me. I needed to wash a modest to big load. I used only a half-teaspoon of Charlie's and it worked wonders because the load included some smelly campfire gear and a grass-stained blouse. The clothes were completely fresh and odorless when they were finished! They behaved similarly when I tried Charlie's with my regular washer. To avoid becoming overly excited, I persisted on this course and now, regardless of the size of a load of towels, I use 1/2 teaspoon for small/medium loads, 1 teaspoon for medium/large loads, and 1 and 1/2 teaspoons for extra-large loads. Because the bedding cycle uses more water and produces such a large load, I use 2 teaspoons, or 2/3 of a tablespoon, for this purpose. Now that I no longer have a love/hate connection with my front loader and my clothing is just how I like it, fresh, clean, and smells like nothing, I am so glad I didn't give up on Charlie's. I'm also certain that the majority of folks that submit negative reviews simply use too much detergent. Although I am aware that everything fluctuates depending on the high efficiency washer you have and the hardness or softness of your water, this is what works for me because my washer consumes extremely little water and my water is generally soft. So I would suggest trying new things and never giving up. You might not think there is enough detergent to get the job done, but because it is so highly concentrated and such a high-quality product, it can operate as intended when you add the right amount. It is without a doubt, without a doubt, my all-time favorite "green" detergent. I never expected to be so enthusiastic about a "laundry detergent," but I take pride in giving my family clean clothes that I am confident are healthy for them. And I appreciate that it's also environmentally friendly. When I remember, I still pretreat stains, but this detergent really does a great job. I apologize for the lengthy review; I was so eager to share what had worked for me.

What on earth are they putting in this? Okay, so I accidently slipped a pink undershirt in with my stinky hot yoga clothes, and as promised, the water turned a disgusting muck color. I exclaimed, "YUCK!" However, this is where the pink underwear comes into play. It became completely black after becoming ruined. Therefore, I want to know if this is actually dirt or if my yoga clothes are bleeding because of the color. Anyway, the clothing passed the hot yoga test and had a fantastic scent. I have only soaked them once so far, and I have washed them about five times with my standard detergent. My clothing don't smell throughout or after five sweaty yoga classes. WOW!!!!

It has been really challenging to find a laundry soap that is TRULY non-irritating, even if it is scent free, as someone who shows has EXTREMELY sensitive skin. I alternated between several "green" dishwasher manufacturers, such as Seventh Generation, and even created my own Castille recipe. Nothing else was as effective as this. This actually outperforms all the well-known non-green brands who promote themselves to death. Glad I came this this.The tea and coffee mugs are now truly CLEAN, and the dishes are all cleaner than they were with prior brands. I had never thought about this before. I just assumed the stains were there to stay, but much to my amazement, after using this detergent for the first time, I pulled out the cups and saw that the insides were PERFECTLY WHITE. This detergent is excellent. I'm delighted I found it because I now use it as my preferred detergent. It has fantastic ingredients that don't worry or irritate me, makes my clothing soft even after I hang dry them, dissolves easily and leaves no residue on darks, and has no offensive aroma. Additionally, it cleans effectively while while being soft.I'll contrast this detergent with some others I've used in the past or looked into before discovering this one.Ecover Zero Powder - Doesn't dissolve effectively, left streaks in the dark colors, and over time bleached my clothes (due to sodium percarbonate)Preservatives and brighteners are present in Tide Free
