The first Final Fantasy game and the follow-up that made Square's position in the RPG gaming market stronger are essential to any fan's collection. According to a well-known legend, the first Final Fantasy was so good and successful that it saved Square from bankruptcy. These games are all excellent, have slightly remixed soundtracks, that classic turn-based RPG feel, slightly improved graphics, and new to this version, a difficulty selection menu for Easy or Normal. Additionally, there are new secrets to unlock, some of which can only be unlocked after completing certain tasks, such as the completion of a second game on which they are dependent. The fact that both games in this Origins collection were around $15 when I bought them shocked me, but they aren't the exact same games that were initially released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Nevertheless, it's a great game that will keep you occupied for a long. Enjoy!

Some people might think that the businesses are just attempting to make more money off of dated games, but I enjoy playing these games on modern hardware, and getting to use new features.This is a really good collection in terms of them. Some people believe Final Fantasy 6, which was first released as Final Fantasy 3, to be the best FF game ever made. I can't claim it's the finest, but it's unquestionably a standout game that was even more outstanding when it was originally made available. In many ways, it does already appear dated. In addition, this is the last game in the series where you may play the traditional, 2D FF that many series fans grew up with.This game does contain one of the better plots in the series, as well as a fantastic cast of characters. There are about 30 espers, the first actual summon monsters, which is more than any other game, which I adore. They are extremely cool. A lot of variation is provided by the distinctive skills and weaponry that each character possesses. A pretty enjoyable old-school RPG.Although incredible at the time, the graphics are now rather obsolete. also the sound. Although some of Uematso's best music was composed for the game, the SNES's sound system is simply out of date. If there was one thing I would have liked to have better, it would be the sound quality. The CG sequences they added also left me disappointed. They weren't executed poorly, but I had expected them to be scattered around the game in strategic locations, which they weren't. It's frustrating that they were just there at the beginning and the conclusion. They probably wanted the game's gameplay to be exactly like what it was on the SNES. Personally, I wouldn't have minded some minor adjustments. They did an excellent job all around.The fact that FF 5 was a brand-new, classic FF game that had never before been distributed in the US was a pleasant surprise. Many of the Amazon reviews claim that the game is actually below average. I must admit that I strongly disagree. I think this FF game is fantastic. I believe you will appreciate 5 if you liked FF 4 and 6. The audio and visuals are comparable to FF 4. But the game's greatest strength is its gameplay. Like in FF Tactics or FF X-2, you can swap between different job classes for your characters, gain a wide range of different skills, and then combine them. Even if the job class system is in a pretty rudimentary state, given the game's old age, it's still really cool. The game's narrative was excellent as well; it was comparable to FF 4. It has a scene where you're traveling through a graveyard of pirate ships filled with zombies and ghosts, and it's just perfect. FF 5 is absolutely worth a try, in my opinion. Although it is ancient and obsolete, it is unquestionably of the same caliber as the FF series.An immediate comment on the music disc would be that it is pitiful. What a waste of time. I'd say you have significant problems if somebody could truly listen to the album and enjoy the songs on it. Tinny SNES audio that has been taken straight from the games. It wouldn't have been too difficult to add any authentic orchestrated versions of the songs (they are available in Japan); that would have been fantastic. Additionally, they excluded many of the better tracks in favor of a few of the disc's weakest tunes. Terrible.However, you won't be purchasing this set for the music CD. What important are the games, and they are excellent, accurate adaptations of the originals. For anyone looking to take a trip down memory lane with some fantastic vintage games, we heartily recommend.

I think my status as a Final Fantasy fan makes me somewhat special. Even though the series has some very significant flaws, I still like it despite them. As with Final Fantasy 7 and 8, I won't try to convince you that this game is perfect because it most certainly isn't, but I will say that it's the greatest the series has produced to far.Let's start with the positive, and there is a lot of it. Once more, Final Fantasy 9 is a technological marvel. The graphics are incredible—honestly, I've never seen better on the original Playstation platform, and this is probably superior to the majority of current-generation computer games. In contrast to Final Fantasy 7's difficult navigation, the ordinary game displays are vibrant, well-illustrated, and aesthetically beautiful. The FMV sequences, on the other hand, are best described with a string of primal grunts of satisfaction.Like usual, the sound is excellent, however certain series aficionados might be a little let down by it. In fact, a significant portion of the music in this game was taken from earlier installments in the series and modified for this one. Personally, I have no issues with it, but I also don't give a lot of thought to a game's soundtrack.For the Final Fantasy series, the story has always been where the largest issues have arisen, thus 9 will come as a welcome surprise to players in this aspect. There are no Final Fantasy games that come to mind that did a greater job of telling or adhering to their plot, and the game's simplicity is the key to its success in this regard. This story is straightforward, understandable, and endearing because there aren't any attractive plot devices as there were in the previous two entries (the pointlessly convoluted storyline of entry 7 and the shoddy blending of the personal story and save-the-world theme in entry 8).Of course, there are issues with the game even now. Minor characters appear and disappear from the plot an unusual amount for a game with this level of storytelling focus. Just follow Sir Fratley's lead throughout the narrative and then refute me. The tale itself seems to spiral wildly out of control in the final hour or so of the game, and Square also falls into a well-worn pit trap in their writing. The story aspect (the crystal) that the game itself alludes to on the back cover doesn't even make an appearance until the very end; I had never even heard of the last boss before I faced him.Overall, though, this game has to be regarded as the greatest in the franchise so far. While the numerous (and numerous) allusions to earlier games will provide devoted fans of the franchise a fun Easter egg hunt, the well-rounded and distinctive characters and engaging narrative should appeal to even the most inexperienced player. You may easily spend sixty hours playing through this surprisingly deep game because the character growth system is likely the strongest in the series thus far, mixing unique skill customisation with equippability and excellent talent. For any PlayStation role player, and possibly for any gamer at all, this is an absolute must-have.

While I didn't like for some of the characters (Marle, Magus), those I did (Frog, Robo) warmed my heart when they were impacted by the plot.This game involves a lot of back and forth; it's not as much as the terrible Final Fantasy II, but occasionally I felt like there was filler that wasn't necessary. The story kept things interesting in spite of all the tiresome main and sidequests. The artwork were animated and bright despite being antiquated. Other than a couple songs, the music was uninspiring. Even while this might be a negative, it isn't because the music and graphics worked well together to create a thrilling experience.When a game is completed, the player can restart it with all the things and abilities they acquired previously. This increases the game's replay value and facilitates the search for other endings.This game still needs a guide to complete several chores, notably the sidequests, while being more helpful than recent RPGs I've played. Although I enjoy following walkthroughs, there are times when I just want a simple game without any complications.Final Fantasy IV: This was enjoyable, just like the first Final Fantasy game. The plot twists and turns kept coming, and the characters all had personality. The gameplay was engaging and didn't allow for any downtime, which raised the stakes and drama.Despite being a fun experience, this game loses its momentum and focus near the end when the big plot twist occurs. The pursuit of the crystals evolves into a different endeavor that is less intriguing than the original goal.And Kain is just as adept at turning heel as Lex Luger. Really?Similar to the first Final Fantasy and even the second, it's nearly impossible to play without a walkthrough when facing particular opponents. The only truly objectionable aspect of his game is this, and it is not a major one. My wife and I actually preferred it that way and enjoyed using the tutorial.Overall, two fantastic RPG classics!

This was one of my first attempts at a fighting game of this genre, and it's great. I wish today's fighting games were more similar to this.Not just in terms of aesthetics, but also in terms of the volume of substance it offers. Fighting games currently mostly focus on multiplayer online play and rarely offer any single-player content for players who enjoy fighting but don't want to spend hours honing their skills with a single character. In the story mode or another mode, I would much rather spend those hours getting to know the characters. There is a ton of content to unlock and numerous game types. Even though the arcade mode doesn't provide completely developed portraits of each character, I always enjoyed the distinctive concluding cut scenes. There is also a beat'em up-style side-scrolling mode, which I really enjoyed playing. Additionally, there is a "Tekken Ball" option, which is a fun but rather gimmicky variation on volleyball. Of course, you can play VS. with your pals if they come over and compete for supremacy. As opposed to playing against someone who is essentially just a really excellent AI opponent who may be in another country, I have always preferred playing games with friends who were present. Oh, how I long for those simpler times. If at all possible, playing games with friends and actually chatting with them as opposed to merely talking through a headset. Anway, Tekken 3 is a fantastic game with lots of replay value and a variety of game types to keep you busy. I wholeheartedly endorse it.

One of my all-time favorite JRPGs is this one. I had simply bought a new copy because my old one was getting a little sluggish from use. The word "eccentric" comes to me when I think of how to sum up the game. The characters are absurd in the greatest manner conceivable, the plot is crazy, and the battle system is sophisticated and new. This was my first serious attempt at a speedrun, yet I've completed the game at least a dozen times in casual play.You WILL be let down if you've never played this game and were hoping it would be Chrono Trigger 2 instead. Therefore, if you remember nothing else from this review, remember this:You will have a lot easier time enjoying this game if you approach it with the mindset that it is Chrono Trigger's spiritual heir and is also situated in the same universe.Another thing to keep in mind is that the battle system has a steep learning curve, yet even without understanding the combat system completely, it's simple to come up with a winning plan. Give this game a try if you enjoy JRPGs and are ok with graphics from the PS era.

Pros:I haven't played this game in such a long time. When I was 16 years old and borrowed this game from a friend, that was around five years ago. I'm currently 21 years old and enrolled in college (majoring in criminal justice, imagine that). I was considering buying a game because I was bored, but after browsing the selection online, I found parasite eve! When I was younger, I truly like it, so I choose to play it once more. I recently completed it, and now that I'm older and more mature, I've had time to reflect on how realistic the game actually is.My biologically knowledgeable life partner observed me as I played before enlightening me on the definitions of mitochondria and how Richard Dawkins identified the selfish gene. Reading about what he found is, by the way, truly astonishing and quite educational.This isn't just any game, mind you; it's the kind that makes you consider life as a human and why we're here, as well as whether or not we "humans" have any purpose at all. This game doesn't cause you to lose brain cells and teaches on topics at that level.Sorry if I sound sexist, but the game does have one significant distinction that sets it apart from other games. A female is the primary character! And not just any girl, but a girl that can kick butt is strong, independent, and doesn't need anybody else to do her task. Because she doesn't portray a conventional lady, I sometimes lose track of her gender when playing the game. When I was younger, I even looked up to her as a role model.Cons:The only drawback to this game is that it's sadly too short, and given how well-written the plot is, it makes me sad that it ends so abruptly. The game lasts roughly 15 hours or less.In general:My sincere recommendation to those considering purchasing this game is to DO SO! In my opinion, it is definitely worth every money (if you like horror, solving puzzles, and mystery that is). Considering that Parasite Eve II is more expensive than the original, I'm also considering saving up for it and letting everyone know how it goes. I sincerely hope you found my review to be useful.
