This is incredible stuff. Fun fact: Tyvek's chemical composition is the same as this one, however it is spun into rope rather than fabric. The 1050 pound breaking weight is real; I've tested it, and boy, does it hold. Since it's both powerful and thin, I have to admit that I'm careful while handling it because it could easily dislocate a limb without breaking if it were wrapped around it and tugged.It's not very easy to tie knots with this rope. odd. Although the exterior of the cord is slippery and compressible, it is rigid, which is helpful. This means that many knots, such as the clove hitch, will simply not work with this rope since it is too thin and slippery. The ones that do function (such as a buntline hitch) soon tighten themselves under pressure to the point that it is difficult to reverse them. This works perfectly for my needs, however if you need climbing rope that you can tie and untie repeatedly and with ease, you might want to seek elsewhere. You could also consider a coated version of this rope for improved friction.It is peculiar how the ends are chopped and sealed. It takes a lot more cutting than it should for something this thin for this rope to cut. Additionally, they don't ball up like nylon does when you cut it and attempt to close the ends like you would with nylon rope. Kind of like a flower, they begin to bloom. The sealing is effective, but oddly enough, you have to seal it in a ring around the edges rather than a ball on top.

two seasons of using the Sufix ice braid 10 lb. It is an extremely strong line that almost never stretches, giving you a great "feel" for jigging and a powerful hook set. Fish for lake trout frequently, occasionally in 140-foot-deep water. The 75 yard spools are ideal; the standard 50 yard spools are definitely insufficient. There doesn't appear to have been any degradation as of yet; other reels are still using line from two seasons. I bought additional so that I could switch all of my ice fishing reels to Sufix. I was utilizing Fireline Ice, which is excellent but only available on 50 yard spools.Does it get icy? Yes, all lines do as well, although, like the Fireline ice, less so than any typical line. Any ice that does develop is immediately removed when reeling in. Awesome line!

The only issue is that when it's below 10 degrees outdoors, my line would freeze and get stiff. Nevertheless, this product is great and will probably go on every spool I possess. I'll even use it when dock panfishing as usual. It was really bothersome and because it was absorbent, it leaked tiny drops of water that quickly froze the eyelets. Although I can picture this working just well in a shack, it was a little difficult to use in winds under 10 mph. I have to throw light jigs (1/32-1/16oz) a long way in some of my crappie sites. This necessitates using thin line and light tackle. However, huge fish (bass/catfish) are frequently around, so I don't want to lose my lure or fish too quickly. I've been using Suffix Siege 6lb monofilament line after experimenting with several others. I recently purchased KastKing Stealth and Kodiak reels and was very surprised by both. I therefore decided to test the KastKing 6lb mono line. The outcome is once more pleasantly surprise!KastKing premium mono offers several advantages over Suffix Siege 6lb mono, including being thinner (diameter of 0.009 vs. 0.010), stronger (KastKing has an actual capacity of roughly 78lb), casting more smoothly (10–20% farther), and feeling bite and setting hooks more effectively (Suffix Siege is a little softer which absorbs the force). If not handled properly (for instance, overspooling, loose retrieving), the slight increase in stiffness could be difficult for beginners, but it never troubled me. And it offers more advantages than drawbacks.I began to adore this line after about an hour of fishing and after catching over 30 crappies.

Good line, sensitivity, visibility in and out of the shanties, and keeps straight off my in-line black Betty. The identical line I used last season will be used this season as well. With that, I pulled in a few sizable bass through the ice. Last season, I only lost one jig, but I believe my knot was the culprit.
