Simple to read, showing temperature and humidity together without extraneous information Elegant tiny easel stand and sleek little unit. I'm realizing I want these in locations I never considered before. I had one in my car and had left it on the dashboard. Although it was 70 degrees and partially sunny, my dash reached 127 degrees. I bought this product to stop mold from growing and to make my swamp cooler filters last longer. I have a larger floor model swamp cooler and a smaller desk-top Artic Air cooler. Since I bought the coolers brand-new, I have faithfully used this product. It does, in my opinion, regulate mold, therefore that makes me happy. However, I can't really detect much of a perfume. If you are allergic to scents, I believe that's a good thing. It doesn't really matter to me because I only purchased it to fragrance the space. You might be let down if your expectation was for it to smell. Additionally, I don't think it makes a much difference in preventing calcium buildup on the filter. I see that my filter does have deposits on it even after only three months of use. It wasn't much, but it was enough for me to want to soak it in vinegar water before the start of the following warm season. What kind of water you use undoubtedly matters as well. I was using municipal water, however I believe the majority of humidifiers will advise using distilled water if feasible. For me to achieve that, swamp coolers run through too much water. Regarding the deposits, I was a little let down. However, I would still purchase it again because I do think that it does as stated in extending the lifespan of water filters and preventing mold. I have no issues.

Although it's not the most expensive hygrometer on the market, this one appears to be accurate. After 20 hours, it is reading temperatures precisely and passed the "salt test" with flying colors; the final 4 hours saw total stability at 75%. It leveled off in the guitar case after three hours and hasn't changed since it was 70 degrees and 49% relative humidity. I got exactly what I wanted, and there's no need to spend extra money on a better guitar bag, in my opinion.

Due to the product's simplicity and the fact that I just received it yesterday, I only gave it 5 stars. I would admit that I am astonished at how hard some people work to cut costs by coming up with unique ways to extend the lifespan of this. My wife and I spent a lot of money on my Taylor 314 CE gig guitar, but $17 a year for this product is far less expensive than regular oil changes for my truck. No harm is intended against anyone; good picking to all.UPDATE: I'm sorry; I think I was a little too fast to judgment. I now have sound hole packets that are like jelly and a headstock packet that is nearly solid after 7 days. The Taylor packs are beginning to firm, while the Seagull packets are still runny like new despite the fact that I purchased 2 sets for 2 guitars. This would eventually result in a challenging cleaning procedure and further reduce the machine's effectiveness by causing scale to build up on the plates and inside surface of the tank.The need for Venta's cleaning solution, which is similarly pricey, is less clear to me. In order to prevent scale buildup, I pre-treat the water I use in the Venta to a dissolved solids level of 0 ppm (see my evaluation of the ZeroWater ZP-010 10 Cup Pitcher). In addition, others have claimed that ordinary vinegar, a mild acid that dissolves scale, can be used to clean Airwashers. It can simply be slower than the exclusive cleaning agent.

My humidifier is the main reason I bought this hygrometer. In order to prevent the air from being too dry and uncomfortable as the temperatures drop in the fall and winter, I run a humidifier almost constantly. It can, however, rapidly turn into a conundrum. The presence of too much water in the air might foster the growth of bacteria. I assure you that is not what you want.With the help of this hygrometer, I can monitor the humidity level in the space closely to make sure it isn't too high. Two hygrometers are preferable to one. They are extremely stealthy and quite little. They also give me the option to view the temperature, which is a good plus. I can see all the details I require at a look. I always have hygrometers in two different places in the room. I am unable to comment on the calibration and accuracy that have been noted by others. However, I can state that with a small discrepancy in temperature and humidity measurements, the values I get from both of these hygrometers are typically the same. This is natural, though, as a room's temperature and humidity levels vary during the day. As a result, a reading in one location may be completely different from another. The humidity feature was the main reason I wanted this device. I wanted to be able to keep an eye on the operation of the whole-house humidifier I had recently put on our furnace. The unfavorable evaluations concerned accuracy and, particularly, reports of 99% humidity, which worried me. The indoor and outdoor readings matched after about an hour of setting the base unit and sensor side by side on a shelf after installing the batteries after receiving the device. I built a little "awning" just above the sensor to shield it from rain and positioned the sensor on the side of the house where the sun never shines. On my first morning, I noticed a 99% humidity level.
