Actually, I had intended to add another unit to my office first, but after receiving and appreciating the Core 300, I purchased two more—one for the child's room and one for the bedroom.Permit me to skip over the aesthetics and other minor flaws (yes, it is silent in the night mode, I can sleep next to it and it is robust and simply nice at the same time). I'll touch the essence, please.Because it has a large air intake area for its size, the Core 300 is an incredible air purifier. 2.) It features a powerful fan that can move the air in the space (and silent in night mode) 3.) It features an excellent hepa filter. I've had this purifier for two and a half years and still adore it. Both the price and frequency of replacement for the filters are reasonable. Despite not being in the kitchen, it is incredibly sensitive and turns on when I cook. In fact, it may be activated to filter the air by a dog fart because it is so sensitive. So I'm giving this five stars despite though we have had to replace the filters after 6 weeks, not six months. The point is that the AQI around here has been as terrible as 438 because to forest fires, and these small devices have offered us shelter in a couple of rooms where we don't have to wear masks all the time. Attaching images of new filters next to old. Buy this one... it does the job. And then some. When the air cleared I turned it off for a time because it was starting to smell smoky because the filter was full... and instantly started having awful troubles with asthma.If you're on the west coast and have one of these, it's time to change your filter.

I have no idea how to quantify how well this works, but I haven't required my inhaler since we got it. Our neighbors (older apartment building) are heavy smokers and my wife and I were both bothered by it. It feels better now. We've been leaving this running while we're home. The touch sensor works effectively to turn it on and off. It does create some noise, but it's just kind of a low ambient fan sound that's easy to ignore. As an unexpected benefit it's really really effective at filtering pet smells- I have two nasty male rats in the thick of rat puberty, their bedding gets changed every other day, and when they were due for a cleaning you used to be able to smell it across the room. You can't anymore unless you're right next to the cage. I honestly didn't have big hopes for this but it's worth buying for that alone.

To reduce the amount of time I had to vacuum, I decided to acquire an air purifier for my room to assist filter out the dust and pet hair from three pomeranians (haha slightly lazy). We're happy we bought this air purifier, which was our first. This device has been mine for about a year. The fans are still running hard, but it's still quite silent. It is operating for at least 12 hours each day. Odors were only eliminated by the black pre-filter for approximately a week. Any new pre-filters are only effective against odors for a week or so. I simply vacuum and clean mine. If you replace the primary hepa filters as recommended every three months, they are rather expensive. I just spent eighteen dollars at Lowe's on the largest 3M filters (2 pack). Out of one filter, you can create five that fit perfectly. You must tape down the small trip latch on the bottom of the compartment where you put the filter so that it seems to be holding a "genuine" filter.
