Cumin is a spice that is used in many different cuisines around the world. In Greece, cumin is used in a variety of dishes, including stews, soups, and vegetable dishes. It is also used to flavor meat and fish. Cumin gives food a warm, earthy flavor and can be used in both sweet and savory dishes.
Creole seasoning and Greek seasoning are both spice blends that can be used to flavor food. They are similar in that they both contain herbs and spices, but they are not the same. Creole seasoning is typically made with paprika, garlic, onion, cayenne pepper, and black pepper, while Greek seasoning typically contains oregano, thyme, rosemary, and basil.
No, Greek is not a seasoning. Greek is a cuisine that includes various seasonings, such as salt, pepper, oregano, and garlic.
There are similarities between Greek and Italian seasoning, but there are also some distinct differences. Both typically contain oregano, basil and thyme, but Greek seasoning will also often have marjoram, rosemary and sage. Italian seasoning, on the other hand, typically has garlic and onion powder. So while there are some herbs that are common to both seasonings, the overall flavor profiles are quite different.

A hard to find product by Cavenders... Need we say more? Now in a pack of 2!
$234
I was given a can of this seasoning by my brother to try, but he didn't let me know where he got it. I looked it up online and discovered that Amazon sold the 2-pack, which is fantastic for me. I doubt I would apply the huge flakes or rubs frequently enough. However, the 3.25 oz is ideal and I adore it for meats, eggs, salad, and veggies because it adds fantastic taste and is fine rather than giant flakes, which makes it simple to digest. I heartily endorse it.

Before a bogus anti-MSG craze erupted in America decades ago, many foods used to taste better. Chinese food may have suffered the most obviously. This serves as the remedy. Use freely for an additional savory flavor in your home cooking, or add it to your Chinese takeout for a delicious, authentic old-school flavor. Sodium restriction because of high blood pressure? MSG is an essential component of your toolkit. All that's needed is a little salt and non-water-retaining MSG. Although the quantity of this particular item is good, it lacks a sprinkle cover, thus you'll need to use a teaspoon or transfer it to a shaking bottle.

This spice blend is fantastic! Once you give it a try, you'll get addicted! It was something my grandma used back in the old country in the 1960s, as I recall. Nothing has changed. By cutting less on the salt and adding a sprinkle of vegetable, you can use it in practically any cuisine that calls for salt and pepper. It can be used with sour cream to create a fast vegetable dip. It is very affordable, uses little, and is very effective.

Back in the 1980s, when I was purchasing my outrageous Betsy Johnson wedding dress, I came across Cavenders Greek Seasoning in a dress shop (yes, a dress shop!). I found it a little unusual that the store owner kept several cans of Cavenders close to the cash register, but it whetted my curiosity, so I bought one. I adored it! For more than 33 years, I have been purchasing it. I use it in soups and on popcorn; it's a fantastic salt alternative that gives meals of all kinds a beautiful flavor. PS: When I realized there were more than two of us in the relationship, I kicked the guy to the curb and sold the Betsy Johnson wedding dress. All's well that ends well because I still have the Cavenders Greek Seasoning! Give it a shot, please! 🙋ðŸ¼â€â™€ï¸

With Cavender's seasoning, I was raised. Because the chef on the front of the Cavender's label resembled Jackie Gleason wearing a chef hat, I used to ask for the Jackie Gleason spice when I was little. My parents were aware of my request for the Cavenders. Even if I'm not Greek, this seasoning is beyond words. Award-winning gravies, stews, soups, steaks, roasts, ribs, omelettes, scrambled eggs, quiche, pizza, calzones, tomato, cucumber slices, mozzarella, etc. all contain it as a vital component. It is incredible. Two further observations are mine.1. I've been paying between $2.50 and $4.00 for the 4 oz. size and $4 to $6 for the 8 oz. size for decades, so I wish I had known this was available in 5 lb quantities...2. I wish it didn't contain MSG. That's probably why it tastes so nice, but I can't stop eating it. Once more, MSG is probably to blame. lol

4 Pack (4 x 8 oz shakers)

For years, my favorite seasoning has been Cavenders All-Purpose Greek Seasoning. I put it on fish, cottage cheese, meats, vegetables, and scrambled eggs, among other things. Just this past week, I used it on salmon and lamb. In this house, we use Cavenders a lot. It definitely boosts the flavors. Last week, I cooked onion soup, and after I told my friends my "secret ingredient" was canvenders, they immediately pleaded for the recipe. I was happy to find this 4-pack because it is difficult to get in local stores unless you want something really little. And the cost is excellent! When you get exactly what you're looking for at an excellent price, it's a double pleasure! If you haven't tasted Cavendars Greek Seasoning, you're losing out on a delicious flavor. Online purchasing is so convenient, especially when I can save money. This item arrived swiftly, and I want to place another purchase soon.

Although I am a loyal Penzey's client, I also always keep this brand of seasoning in my home. Everything tastes better as a result. To use this seasoning, I have prepared or altered a number of recipes, and it truly kicks everything up a notch! I looked for a technique to create a knockoff but was unable. But given the taste it adds to my meals and the reasonable price, I think it's a good purchase. Here is an altered recipe that I frequently prepare for lunches at work: Bowtie or rigatoni pasta, 12 oz. 1/2 cup mayonnaise and 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil. Half a cooked boneless, skinless chicken breast, chopped or shredded into bite-sized pieces. Sliced into bite-sized chunks, 1 red pepper. Red onion, around 1/3 cup, finely chopped. a sizable handful of half-sliced, pitted kalamata olives. Cavenders seasoning, 2–3 teaspoons. Red wine vinegar, about 1T. To taste, add 1-2 tablespoons of red pepper flakes. 1/3 to 1/2 cup of feta cheese crumbles. Upon reaching al dente, drain the pasta. Mix the oil, mayonnaise, Cavenders spice, red wine vinegar, crushed red peppers, and lemon juice in a large bowl. Stir in the cooked pasta, chicken, peppers, onions, and olives. Add the feta and stir. To allow the flavors to meld, cover and chill the dish for a few hours.

I use just a few sprinkles of this salt-free Greek seasoning, and everyone I cook for compliments the lovely spices I use. It's the best spice mixture I've ever used altogether, and I wouldn't cook without it anymore. I add it to scrambled eggs, various meats, and different sorts of green veggies. Last night, after steaming some Brussels sprouts, I drizzled some hot butter over them and then topped them with this mixture of spices. Perfect! I always make fresh lamb roast by rubbing it with olive oil, stuffing it with garlic cloves, and then topping it with this spice mixture. Perfect! Potassium is listed as an ingredient on the canister's ingredient list along with pepper, garlic, oregano, sugar, onion powder, parsley, and "five additional spices" in place of salt. Although expensive, it is definitely worth it. Try it. After nine months, the edit review... I paid just under $6 for this item at one of the large box stores. Therefore, if you are unable to find it locally, only send an order.
