When I purchased this, I had high hopes for it, but it might use some assistance. First of all, it's too simple to screw the cap on incorrectly after filling it, causing it to leak, and when you squeeze it, air instead of water simply escapes the cap. Even if you screw it on straight, the soft cap tends to pop up after it's tight and still leak, even when I'm being extremely cautious not to overtighten it. This is because the threads don't engage as well as they would with a hard cap. The small valve in the bowl does function when it is straight and "tight enough," but it is challenging to gauge how far to turn it by feel. The stop isn't particularly positive and, one again, all the parts are soft rubber, but I could get used to it. A little better bottle strap would be the only additional enhancement I could think of. The one there is simple but powerful.Overall, if I'm careful, everything went as planned, albeit it could be improved. All I want is for my dog to drink from it. He once heard the rubber bowl snap down, and ever since, he has refused to allow it come close to him.

I enjoy having the water in a practical leak-proof dispenser that locks so that water cannot be dispensed into my bag. It is also filtered. My service dog is called My Dolly Doll Tuxedo. The gadget is leak-proof and fits snugly in my Toyota Prius' cup holders. My worries are that since it lacks a handle, carrying it will be difficult (for example at the dog park). Additionally, my dog won't drink from the offered collapsible cups for some reason. My best hypothesis is that the cups smell unpleasant to dogs. We've always enjoyed traveling in the car (as well as on walks and hikes) with our dog. We used to just keep water in the car in a metal bowl before getting this water bottle. The issue with it was that we would either have to empty the water out or have it leak during the trip if our dog didn't drink it completely. When not in use, the silicone leaf is flush with the bottle, making it easy to store in a bag or a cup holder in a car. It is equipped with a wrist strap and a cap (which creates a tight seal). Flip the leaf up to create a wonderful little bowl to catch the water when you wish to use the bottle to give your dog a drink. The bottle holds 20 ounces of water, which is sufficient for one hike. It's also the ideal size—large enough for a thirsty dog but not so enormous as to be difficult to carry. Simply detach the cap or leaf and re-fill it if necessary. These bottles are beloved by my bunnies. Despite being smaller than others, they neatly attach to the cage housing our rabbits, hold there, and don't drip. They're simple to remove and refill, however I will say that this square-base model is far better than the round-necked model (comes in light green). Due to its square design, there is less chance of a thirsty rabbit pulling it off when it is placed back into the holder and snaps into place. The spherical base one, however, will easily be knocked off at first sip if not given a tiny twist each time until it clicks twice. We have one of each, and I'm the only one who seems to know how to hold the green bottle with the circular neck correctly.Over the past six months, I've tried a few different water bottles for our buns, but this is by far my favorite. Each morning and night, my 4-year-old, who is legally the bunnies' adoptive, has no trouble replenishing the bottles. All the others were recycled or thrown away.

So that we don't have to replace it as frequently, we were fortunate to find a bottle with the same thread pattern. It took our dog a little bit to get used to the longer feed tube, but after a day or two, it wasn't quite the same as the last type we had. The mounting unit for the bottle attaches directly to the crate, which is another feature I enjoy. It all aligns perfectly, so all I have to do is unclip the bottle and snap it back into the mounting unit. The previous setup required me to link up the bottle after entering the feeding line through the crate door. It was simple to complete on paper, but I occasionally had trouble aligning things, which caused the metal marble to shake a little and seep into the crate. It wasn't revolutionary, but it was unpleasant.
