With the spool it was on, it weighed 15.1 ounces. I am aware that most manufacturers have a tolerance, however often the spool is excluded from the wire weight. It was the only copper I had ever discovered in large quantities that was uncoated, which is crucial if you plan to patina or oxidize your pieces.The oxidation and polishing on the wire are *beautiful*! Even though all wire, especially dead soft wire, varies in spool size, this product has always been uniform. This was ideal for me because I occasionally need a little more accuracy than the average person. The Small Parts wire is a knitter's dream in smaller gauges.Simply one of the spools and gauges I ordered had overlapped winding that required to be "untangled" (it was only a little issue with 30g).All of the copper wire sizes that Small Parts supplies are excellent, and I would buy them all again and again.

This wire performed exactly as I had anticipated. It easily bends and maintains its shape. Message for my fellow artists If you're doing wire art, be sure to use copper wire that won't tarnish. Working with this wire required gloves and tape, but that was my my fault for not reading the description well enough. The wire stayed bright as long as I wore my gloves. It's unfair to deduct a star for a mistake I made.

Making jewellery components out of this wire with a hammer is incredibly fun for me.
