Yes, flea drops are safe for cats. There are a number of products on the market that are designed specifically for use on cats, and these products are typically very safe. Of course, as with any type of medication, there is always the potential for side effects, so it is important to read the label carefully and follow the instructions.
Fleas are not able to live in human hair due to a lack of food and moisture. While fleas can jump onto humans and bite them, they will not be able to survive for long periods of time in human hair.
Yes, it is possible to overdose a cat on flea treatment. If a cat ingests too much of the treatment, it can cause vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, and even death. It is important to follow the directions on the package and only use the recommended amount of treatment for your cat's weight.
After treatment, fleas will eventually fall off of your cat. The length of time it takes for this to happen depends on the product used and the severity of the infestation. In most cases, you will see a significant reduction in the number of fleas within a week.

My indoor cat brought in these fleas when a family member accidentally allowed him out for the day, therefore I've been attempting to get rid of them. It's been a month and a half since I started trying. Frontline was completely ineffective. I've been putting Adams spray on my cat and all about the house as well as doing that twice. Additionally, bombed and used Wondercide, which I do not advise for cats because mine felt awful after using it on him. He was unwell for two days. I've also been sweeping my house every day for weeks. all in vain I'm on the verge of giving up. I then made the decision to test CapStar. OMG I gave one to my cat, and after a few hours of scratching and fleas falling off of him, he suddenly appeared to be at rest before falling asleep. He didn't appear ill at all; rather, he just appeared relieved. He slept all night after sleeping for hours. Since I don't believe he's had any rest in weeks, I was overjoyed for him. Then I bombed my home one more. For three days, I haven't seen a flea. not a live one, at least. I find this thing to be fantastic. I am aware that it is only supposed to last for 24 hours, but I still think you will be successful if you use this medication in conjunction with the proper flea-removal strategy. I was prepared to give him another medicine if I saw a flea, and I still am. Appreciative of this product. Because cats, like my cat, may be difficult to please, it was difficult to award "ease of use" a perfect five stars rating. My cat is not one of those simple cats. He enjoys the spray cheese I used to crush it up, but after he figured it out, I had to force give it to him. Since it has been 4 weeks since the previous treatment of frontline, I definitely suggest this product and will be purchasing Advantage to use on him the next week. Try this stuff without delay!!! My cat is now quite thrilled that it works.

We have used this product for 72 hours, and so far it is fantastic. Due to her flea sensitivity, my cat has sores all over her body. Two other items I tested didn't work, though. The fleas vanished a few hours after I used the product. She has stopped scratching, and her wounds are beginning to heal. Her fur wasn't made sticky or oily, and the smell wasn't unpleasant. If it continues to function during the entire month, I will revise this review.**Day 10 evaluationWe have now reached day 10 and it is still functional. All of the other products I've used stopped working between days 4 and 8. My cat is recovering and acting more like herself once more.

appears to be excellent. Since application three days ago, I've only noticed one adult flea on my cat, and I think it was already dead because it was so simple to remove. Definitely going to use this product on a monthly basis. The delay in prevention was brief. In less than a week, fleas returned. Reapplied after 30 days, but the problem persisted after treating the house as well. Probably spend money on a better product for the following month.

I've included my initial review below, which I've only rated 4 stars at this time. Advantage simply had a faulty batch when I wrote the assessment below, in contrast to the Hartz version which killed one of my cats and didn't detect it until it nearly killed my other cats. Currently, I'm still prepared to put my trust in them. As you can see, I bought a second set, applied it to all four of my cats, and have been closely monitoring them ever since, with the exception of when I needed to write this review. No negative side effects to date, and the best result since I started taking this product is that I haven't had any flea infestations. Even though I keep my house spotless, there are always places where they can breed. By applying this on your cats and having them enter these difficult-to-reach places, you can get this insecticide into those places and stop a re-infestation. I alternate between using Revolution and Advantage every four months. This is due to the fact that Revolution, which is currently only available by prescription from a veterinarian, may treat conditions that these other versions can't, such as tapeworm, which your cat can easily acquire by ingesting a flea while grooming itself. Remind the veterinarian that there is no such law and that there are prosecutors who are pursuing doctors who knowingly mislead their patients about the existence of such laws, which is true in California, if they try to convince you that you must have a heartworm blood test performed before they will prescribe this, especially if you live in California. Not that you should never obtain a heartworm test, but you should never allow a vet force one on you in exchange for a flea treatment. I utilize Advantage for four consecutive months before switching to Revolution in the fifth. Revolution shouldn't be used continuously because doing so could lead to fleas developing resistance to the insecticide. By the way, I strongly advise using a child-safe insect repellent for a few days if you do have flea problems and are using this or another product. This is because fleas that jump off infected pets will look for other hosts before they die, so using a child-safe product on yourself and your kids will help prevent getting bitten. I started doing this when I saw that, especially in the spring and summer, we were all getting bitten after the pets received medical attention. I'm not advocating any names because I initially consulted their doctor before making any decisions on my kids. You ought to follow suit.If you recently purchased this item and it has lot# KPDBNWK NPDBJ1C, please let us know. I would strongly advise against using it and returning it to the place where you purchased it. We've used this brand and type for a very long time, and a shipment with this lot that we just got had some major impacts on all three of our cats, who had been on it for more than two years. Due to serious problems with Hartz products, the cats started foaming and becoming lethargic 15 minutes after the medication was applied to the back of each cat's neck. Because the medication is oil-based, dipping a cat in a tub of water would just cause them to reapply it as they emerged. The solution was to quickly rinse each cat with warm water and soap from a shower, not cold water. The first step is to wash the flea treatment off with soapy water in the shower. The next is to check to see whether the cat has swallowed any and give them something to take in. By adding some tuna oil to a bowl of water, you can dilute and decrease the damage, whether it is from their favorite cat food or by encouraging them to drink a lot of water. Watch the cat, and I strongly advise getting in touch with your vet just to be safe.

I once dated a gruff guy who may have had fleas and transferred them to my cat. I dumped him and purchased Advantage II for my actual child (my cat). This didn't kill my cat's fleas like other brands almost did, but it did the fleas. So both Kitty and I are pleased with it. I don't know if it works on people because I didn't share any with the guy (my ex).

I've fostered kittens for years and currently have 7 cats. For my adult cats, I ultimately switch between Frontline Plus and Advantage. I prefer Advantage when there is a real flea infestation, as is frequently the case with kittens I foster, over Frontline Plus as a tick preventive. When there are fleas on the animal, I have not seen anything destroy them as thoroughly or rapidly as Advantage. I'll be speaking soon. When I get kittens with fleas, I bathe them in warm water with a small amount of soap or shampoo (this prevents the fleas from floating on the surface of the water where they can still jump off) and flea comb them to remove as many fleas as possible (also have a little bowl of warm water with soap to dip the comb in, and wash the fleas off into that - otherwise, they jump and escape like crazy). After they have dried, I apply the Advantage because there are almost always a few fleas left. Usually, the fleas are all gone by morning. With Frontline, I haven't noticed this quick flea killing impact. Since my older cats roam outside and we have ticks here in central Virginia, the Frontline does appear to be effective as a prophylactic for fleas and ticks. Ticks and fleas don't seem to bother the adult cats too much. I don't even worry about the floors or rugs anymore; if I know there are fleas present, I will occasionally vacuum and discard the bag. But the fleas are ultimately exterminated by using Frontline or Advantage on all the animals. Since I have a lot of experience with fleas and ticks, I have never liked the idea of the flea bomb because it sounds so poisonous to me and I haven't found it to be required. The most expensive products are Frontline and Advantage, but I've heard some negative things about the less expensive kinds you can buy at the grocery store, etc. I don't always adhere to a rigorous 30-day regimen, and to be really honest, I don't apply the treatments during the winter months out of concern for the toxicity they may be exposed to. However, three or four doses from spring to fall appear to keep everyone well. I'll also purchase the Advantage II for big dogs doses (not Advantix) and divide those up for my cats. Information about dosing other locations is available online and in reviews.
Yes, fleas from cats can go on humans. If your cat has fleas, it's likely that you'll also get fleas. Fleas are attracted to the warmth and carbon dioxide that humans emit, so they'll jump from your cat onto you. Once on you, fleas will bite and feed on your blood. This can cause irritation, itching, and even welts. If you have a flea allergy, you may experience more severe reactions, like hives or difficulty breathing. To prevent fleas from jumping from your cat to you, regularly groom your cat and
To get rid of fleas in your house, start by vacuuming all of the carpets and upholstered furniture. Then, wash all of your bedding in hot water and dry it on the hottest setting. Next, treat your pets with a flea collar or topical flea treatment. Finally, call an exterminator to have your home professionally treated.
After you've treated your cat for fleas, you may be wondering how to tell if the fleas are truly gone. Fortunately, there are a few telltale signs you can look for. First, take a look at your cat's fur. If you see any fleas or flea dirt, that's a good indication that the fleas are still around. Next, check for scratching or biting. If your cat is still scratching or biting excessively, that's a sign that the fleas are still bothering them. Finally, ask your veterinarian for advice
After you've treated your home and your pet for fleas, you may be wondering how to know if the fleas are gone. Fortunately, there are a few things you can look for to know that the fleas have been eradicated. One of the first things you'll notice is that your pet is no longer scratching and biting at their skin. If you see them still doing this, it's likely that there are still some fleas present. Another way to tell if the fleas are gone is by looking for flea dirt. This is the black,
If your indoor cat has fleas, it's likely they picked them up from going outside, or from another animal in your home. The best way to prevent fleas is to keep your cat indoors, and to regularly groom and check them for fleas. If you do find fleas, there are a number of treatments available to get rid of them.
To deflea a house, you will need to treat both the indoor and outdoor areas. Start by vacuuming all carpets, rugs, and upholstered furniture. Then, wash all bedding, blankets, and pet beds in hot water. Next, treat the outdoor area by mowing the lawn and removing any debris. Finally, use an insecticide to spray the perimeter of the house.
