I got a lot more use out of this camera setup than I anticipated considering the price!I'll admit that the well-packaged box intimidated me a little when I first opened it because of all the wires and components within. But as soon as I realized how straightforward the installation was, I felt better (and yes, I did my own installation). By fastening elastic bands to the rear of your current mirror, the camera is held firmly in position over the mirror. I decided to run the system off of the included vehicle lighter adaptor. The mirror's top is where the cord is plugged in. I wrapped the rope around and tucked it into the head liner before running it up the side and into the panel close to the windshield. I made sure the cable was hidden, not sagging, and out of the way by zip-tying it down the bottom in two pieces. After that, I was able to plug it into the car lighter and put it out of my mind.A different TF card must be purchased. I paid less than $10 for a Sandisk 32GB Class 10 card, which is the recommended model. I then put the card in its port on top of the mirror after I got it. I immediately located the setting to format the card after starting my car, and I was ready to use the system. I set the loop control to 3 minutes before usage (meaning the camera will record a new video every three minutes). You may learn about a few other features that I modified in the instruction manual. Everything is incredibly simple to comprehend and use!It's simple to use the camera! Nothing needs to be done on your part. The rearview mirror's reflection is visible. The mirror has a blue tinge, but I haven't noticed any issues because of it. The system will immediately boot up and begin recording as soon as you turn on your car. First of all, I've had this Mirror Dash Cam for a few weeks now, and it's been a nice addition to my car for recording so that I have a witness with me in case I get into an accident. I appreciate that it can be placed on a variety of vehicles and has a universal fit. It came with a user manual and all the necessary installation equipment. Running all the cables on my truck and connecting the back camera to the reverse light on the truck took approximately an hour. The responsiveness of the 7-inch touchscreen is excellent, and navigating the settings to shoot video with the front and rear cameras is simple. If you need a good working dash cam for your car, I definitely recommend buying.

The quality and night sensitivity of the Dymco device are much better than those of other dash cams, which I had previously purchased from Amazon utilizing the older SONY IMX323 video processor.HOWEVER, BE AWARE OF THE IMPLICATIONS OF SETTING THE DMYCO UNIT'S "G-SENSOR" TO THE "HIGH" SENSITIVITY OPTION/POSITION:All owners of this unit should be aware of what I found out while testing the controls on the Dmyco device: If the "G-sensor" sensitivity is set to "HIGH," a "yellow bar" will continuously move from left to right across the screen. This yellow bar actually represents a "locking" of the video image, which the dash cam mistook for a "collision." Additionally, you won't be able to touch the touch screen at all when the bar is sliding along the bottom of the dash cam screen! This truth was made clear to me while I was leaving the car with the unit on and the yellow bar began to move across the screen as soon as I shut the door. That's when I discovered the "secret" of what that yellow bar actually meant and what consequences a lack of control created! Additionally, when the G-sensor is set to "high," simply touching the screen with anything other than an EXTREMELY LIGHT TOUCH will cause the dash cam to interpret a collision as an artificial one, which will result in the generation of that yellow bar. This time, however, there will be no control over the touch screen during the yellow bar's movement. The bumps and rough road potholes will also produce this artificial "collision-condition" that ENDLESSLY REPEATS over and over, preventing other touch screen selections and a denial of the continuous video recording record of your travels that you are expecting to achieve in this same "high" sensitivity-condition. Solution: To fix the issue, simply set the "G-Sensor" to "Medium" or lower. I'm hoping that this advice would prevent anyone who thought the dash cam's inability to manage the touch screen was a problem from returning this AMAZING dash cam to Amazon! The dash cam is not at fault!

I was looking for a discrete replacement for my car's built-in backup camera because it ceased operating last year. As a restaurant owner, my schedule may be a little...crazy, so it took me more than a month to install the 7inch ToGuard Mirror DashCam. After some debugging, they replaced the unit for me, and I'm happy to tell that it has been infallible ever since!Now that my wife and I have both purchased full-size trucks, I immediately thought of getting another ToGuard Mirror DashCam because we use the truck to tow our camper, and I wanted a smaller display so I could use the mirror/back up camera simultaneously. While I have driven a 40-foot tour bus and trailer through downtown Chicago, my wife has never driven a truck. We are over the moon that we bought this 5" Model!When we initially opened the unit's packaging for installation, we were struck by how well-made and slim it felt. It is roughly the same thickness as my phone (a Pixel 3 XL), and it feels substantial and expertly engineered in your hands.I was surprised by the quantity of customization possibilities when it was installed, and the image quality is fantastic day and night, especially with the WDR setting selected. For improved streaming quality, I downscaled a sample video to 480p before posting it.There are a few spots where the translation isn't the strongest, but it's fairly simple to comprehend the intended meaning. Otherwise, navigating through the menus and functions is highly user-friendly. Setting the time was the only problem I had; it isn't clear, but you just tap above or below the number you want to modify.Overall, because ToGuard stands behind their products, I would highly suggest both this particular unit and the company as a whole.

To give you a better idea of the video quality in case you watched it before reading the review, I uploaded a higher-resolution version to a well-known online video site since Amazon does not offer high-resolution videos.This is my third Toguard dash cam with a built-in video touch screen because I adore them. Last year, I primarily purchased my first one to install on a rental car for a trip to Italy. When I got home, I then added it to my own vehicle. We bought this new model, which has high definition resolution (1080p/720p) on both the front and rear cameras, because my wife wanted one for her car, and because our son now has his own car and we thought it would be a good idea to put one on his car as well. Instead of giving him the one from my car with the lower resolution rear camera, I made the decision to install the new one on my own vehicle.It appears to be a standard component of the car by incorporating the mirror's camera and DV recording capabilities. Using elastic bands, the device is quickly attached over the car's original rearview mirror. It is powered by a standard 12 volt power plug that plugs directly into a cigarette lighter power port. When routing the power and rear-view camera wires, it is simple to lift up the molding and rubber stripping on the car using the plastic tool that is included. I always install the rear-view camera inside on the back window of my leased car using the supplied double-sided foam tape because I don't want to drill a hole in the sheet metal. Although the rear camera is weather resistant and can certainly be installed outside if preferred, I believe it to be safer as well because it seems less likely to be damaged if being hit from behind. We already have backup cameras in every one of our vehicles. The rear camera can be set to turn on automatically when the car is put in reverse and display on the mirrors' built-in screens for those who don't. To support light wiring, only the red wire needs to be connected. However, this unit (unlike our others) will automatically display the rear camera view by default, displaying the rear view on the screen whenever the car is started in addition to turning on the device. In the majority of cases, this can offer automatic backup assistance without the need to connect the backup wires. Additionally, turning on the video display is a simple process that only requires touching the mirror glass. Timed options for how long the camera view is visible on the screen before turning off automatically to serve as a mirror while the device is still recording are available in the settings menu.A micro SD card that you supply is used to record the video and, if desired, the audio. Despite the fact that I see they support 32 gig SD, I have been using 64 Gig cards and have no trouble getting several hours of recording time. After a predetermined amount of time that the user specifies in the settings menu, the touch screen display will automatically turn off and convert to a regular mirror. Or you can quickly depress the power button to turn off the display. There are several buttons along the bottom when the display is turned on. The recording feature can be turned on and off using the red button in the center. To access the menu and DVR, it must be set to "off." Resolution, time, date, and other fundamental settings are set in the menu. The files are kept on the DVR and can be viewed directly on the built-in video display of the mirror. The SD card can, of course, be removed and used with a computer. The button on the far right can be used to lock the files to prevent overwriting. There is also a button to switch between the front and back cameras.Both cameras produce excellent video and capture low light situations better than other cameras I've used. Additionally, dragging on the display can be used to change the image "angle" of the rear view camera to suit the user's preferences. According to the manual, the device can accept an optional GPS unit that can record and display speed and direction data. In the settings, there is a "Parking Monitoring" feature that also needs something extra to function. It will allow the device to automatically turn on and start recording in the event that its sensor detects shaking movement when the vehicle is turned off, according to the manual. I'm assuming TOGUARD can offer those choices.Dash cams are crucial for recording video in the event of an accident, but we have occasionally recorded wildlife crossing the road (coyotes, turkeys, etc.), as well as once an accident that involved a vehicle in front of us. I therefore made the decision to attempt this.The packaging for this dash cam was fantastic, and it arrived on time. It is quite well made. The user handbook is fairly simple to read and provides adequate instructions for installation and setting up the device.Front camera installation was pretty simple. You are not required to remove or uninstall your original rearview mirror. All you need to do is fix on top of it. Since the camera lens view is not obscured, this dash cam mirror has a touch screen and is larger than the installed rearview mirror. You can choose to either leave the display on or turn it off. Since it is not included, you will need to buy a memory card separately. The memory card you carry with you will be safe for your driving records. I use a 32GB memory card and have not had any problems.There are numerous helpful warning features on this dash cam. It contains a forward collision warning that sounds an alarm when a car in front of you is less than 10 meters away. A lane departure warning is also included. These features operate well and are quite helpful for my wife, who is a novice driver. It has an external GPS and can find its location even in underground parking. I've seen that the GPS finds a position in three to five seconds. Both during the day and at night, there is good, clear image clarity. This Mirror Dash Cam is my best purchase, and I am quite delighted with it.

Rear camera not connected to reverse put inside car at rear window. (I have a stock backup camera setup.My first impression is that it’s pretty wonderful. I have a mirror that is close to the ceiling so, I followed the reviews and attached he rubber bands onto the top and pulled down to connect to the bottom. Took 2 minutes. Larger than my OEM mirror by a couple of inches. Wire wasn’t much of a big deal to hide because the interior is all black and I installed car radios “back in the dayâ€.The rear camera took a bit longer. I had PLENTY of cable. To get the best view, the camera would have to be mounted up high but I don’t want it to be noticeable. It’s a fixed camera and it would’ve been SUPER if it had a pivot joint. I could have mounted up high for a better view and angled to the middle of the car. I have it hiding between the decal on my rear window and I can see the car behind me. Good enough for now. If you’re putting it on for backup camera usage, you’ll need to get inventive: like most, I would absolutely not drill holes in my car for this and that will take some thinking to get around.Both cameras have a great picture. Use the little blue tool in your box to pop your SD card in and out. I used a 64 GB card rated best and it’s working great.Can’t think of anything else to include. I’ll update the review if anything happens.Manufacturer: please put the rear camera on a swivel mount to make it adjustable! I actually liked how small the adhesive clips are to window mount too. I just don’t want to see the wires hanging. (No way to avoid that in my model car.)

Normally, I don't comment on the majority of the stuff I receive, but I'm going to on this one. If we compare this to suction cups, it is true that I personally have found it to be a little difficult to get this item on the mirror that you are supposed to, but once you do, you won't have to worry about it falling off in the summer heat or the winter cold, as I have occasionally experienced with suction cups. With suction cups, you do have the speed and versatility of a suction cup, but as I've already mentioned, you run into issues once it gets hot enough on your windshield. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who's experienced this, or if the suction cup was simply broken, or if the suction cup and/or the windshield were dirty, but I also ran into issues with suction cups in the chilly winter months. This mirror mount resolves the issue. Additionally, it moves the object you want to mount to your mirror mount further out of the way so you can see more of what's outside the window. Additionally, I bought 2 of these because I liked them so much (despite the fact that they are a little difficult to put on and take off). Additionally, the mirror mount doesn't leave a ring mark on your glass like suction cups do.

I'm really happy with this. Although I was afraid of installing the backup camera, it was actually rather simple. The camera is of very high quality. Given how inexpensive it was, I was quite hesitant, but the item arrived fast, the vendor was responsive to my questions, and the device itself was in excellent condition. My dash-mounted GoPro has been serving as my dash cam, but I was growing weary of constantly charging it and turning it on and off. It handles everything, has built-in parking, and it came with a backup camera, which made me pampered right away. I have a Jeep Wrangler, so backing up and parking in places was never a problem.Another reason I appreciate it is how easy it is to disconnect and lock up in the console with my GPS if I go topless in the jeep. To remove it from the console and put it back in, it takes roughly 10-15 seconds. Being in Hawaii, I occasionally just want to have a beach day and take the top off while I'm at it. I don't typically go topless unless I'm out on a trail or camping. But even the most casual vehicle person can see the size of the camera in a topless Jeep, which makes me a bit uneasy.
