I appreciate you providing this on Amazon.com. Every auto parts business I visited in the neighborhood advised me to go to the dealership to purchase the item and have it installed. I was going to be charged $500 to accomplish it by the nearby Hummer dealership. I was able to purchase this tube and affix it myself. I had to watch a few videos to learn how to accomplish it, but I was still able to do it on my own. I am a 45-year-old lady who has no experience working on automobiles, but I am aware that I only replaced this part because it was available here on Amazon for such a low price. A PCV valve may be quickly tested by blowing through it, as I was always instructed. The internal check-ball prevents it from moving in the opposite direction from where it is freely moving in one direction.So I purchased a new one when mine appeared to leak a little in the allegedly blocked direction.For $4, it was the replacement brown plastic model from Adv Auto. The biggest issue is that it behaved identically right out of the box to the device I was replacing.So I spent $12 on Amazon to purchase the Toyota OEM valve. What's this? It has a metal base. And while it readily flows in the opposite direction, it COMPLETELY seals in the first. case closedMy truck may not run like a night and day difference, but it functions just as it should. Additionally, the metal base is considerably more sturdy than the cheap plastic ones you can buy from aftermarket vendors for less. Although I have nothing against purchasing aftermarket alternatives for some parts, it is a good idea to check the quality first if you are thinking about it. Nothing shiny is actually gold.And if your valve needs to be replaced because it is old, I suggest spending a little extra money on a new rubber grommet. It snapped off when I went to remove mine because it was old and brittle. I had to gently (and patiently) pull out the fragments that fell into the valve cover port.The new rubber one proved that even this simple job is worthwhile to do well because it fits well and seals superbly.

When I replaced a cylinder head and cleaned out the engine area, I ripped off the original elbows and grommets. The original grommets, which were 19 years old, had stiffened and prevented the removal of the elbows without breaking.I required this to completely replace the valve cover grommets and elbows on a 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ:For both the front and back of the valve cover, order two of the Dorman HELP! 42344 PCV Valve Grommet (found on this product page).Help! Replace this elbow to stop that Jeep from blowing oil. You can see that the valve cover is covered in oil.A Jeep Wrangler has trouble with this small device and its companion grommet (Dorman HELP! 42344 PCV Valve Grommet). a 2003 4L Wrangler will do. Quite challenging to remove from the valve cover, but all you need to do is get a razor knife and carefully cut cuts in the old grommet to avoid cutting off most of a finger. The elbow can then be carefully wiggled out using your superhuman strength; however, if the elbow fractures and enters the valve cover, there may be a problem. Although I employed several channel locks judiciously, the task appears to be more straightforward than it actually is. Because it is intended to be grommeted to that valve cover like glue, when it malfunctions, it spews forth oil. A thick layer of vaseline spread all around the new one makes it easier to insert.Look up "Jeep Wrangler for PCV" on YouTube. and you'll receive some tips on how to approach this very simple task,It's not technically a PCV "valve" as on some other engines, but it functions similarly and all of them are prone to failing despite looking okay on the outside (but surrounded by oily valve cover). You'll be able to identify which of these two—or perhaps both—seem to be leaking because there are two of them. One is on the front of the valve cover and is simple to access, while the other is, of course, on the other end of the valve cover and needs to be reached by entering the engine compartment.

replaced with a 2.4L GDI engine in a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. My previous replacement may have occurred at 103k when the engine short block was changed, but I wasn't sure when/if it happened. Now that I've reached 175k, I chose to replace it. The old one rattled pleasantly despite having quite a bit of dirt on it, suggesting that it was probably in good working order. The previous one will be kept as a backup. The valve is sunken a little inside the valve cover, so I would recommend the socket. The socket size on both of mine was 21mm (the same as my lug nuts), though you may be able to coax it out with an adjustable or combination wrench. This valve should be torqued to a value of about 25 in lb (or 2 ft lb), which is just slightly tighter than finger tight.

The PCV valve is positioned immediately below the oil dipstick on a 2005 Honda Odyssey (slightly to the right). One 10mm bolt was removed (a swivel head ratchet is helpful), the old bolt was carefully removed, the replacement bolt was fitted, and the bolt was tightened. It took exactly five minutes. O-rings are already present; prior to insertion, lightly lubricate them with motor oil. Since I have 198k miles on it and burn a quart of oil per 1000 miles, I decided to replace it. To the best of my memory, it has never been modified, so I assumed since it's so simple to do, it can't hurt. I haven't owned it long enough to see if the amount of oil consumed varies.

I was running at a choppy idle and higher RPMs than usual, and I was also receiving some oil on my spark plugs. The oil going into the intake can be explained by the fact that my pcv valve made a moist or mushy sound rather than a loud click while I was checking for vacuum leaks.The component almost precisely matched my Dodge Ram 4.7 litre. Compared to the previous one, it was a little snug, but I forced it in. On the cap of the oil reservoir, to the side. Even if it doesn't last 90k miles (as the original Mopar one did), it's still a good value because the other replacement parts cost at least $10 more.

Although fairly similar to the original, these portions are off enough to make things challenging. The o-rings were primarily too thick and needed an absurd amount of pressure to attach. Even the old o-ring from one fitting and the entire length of another old hose had to be reused. One fitting's nipple had a molding error of around 5 degrees, which made installation challenging and put too much strain on the pipe. Overall, I wish I had spent a little more money on higher quality aftermarket or even OEM parts.UPDATE: GWA Auto Parts, the seller, did a fantastic job of resolving my difficulties. They took the time to get in touch with me, identify the problem with potential future problems with the parts, offer a partial credit, and were courteous and professional throughout.

used on my venerable 1998 Toyota Avalon XLS. On Toyota's transversely mounted/27-degree rearward-canted V6 type, PCV needs to be changed frequently regardless of OEM quality. Each time I have an oil change, I replace my. After the initial OEM change, its grommet does not need to be changed with every PCV replacement, but at least once a year is sufficient. * Pay close heed to reviewers' advice on how to remove an old grommet—possibly the original—to prevent crushing it into the valve cover. It's a good idea to grasp it with locking forceps and gently lever it up evenly using a wide-tipped, unsharpened screwdriver. Apply a thin layer of fresh oil to the new grommet before evenly and gently pressing it in. Additionally, lubricate the new PCV's base and avoid using leverage to install it by not pressing on the plastic right-angle hose fitting.
