I have to always wear dental guards. They've lasted for quite some time. Usually, I pass right by them. They are quite cozy. And you buy many so you can keep one in your room, one in the bathroom, one in the medicine cabinet, and so on. Because I feel so comfortable with them, I'll refer them to you, a friend, and maybe even my family.Although it cost my dentist $280, this mouth guard helped me save some money. For one, he desired that. I bought four, but I'm only using one at night while I sleep on my bottom teeth. Even though I continue to grind my teeth when I sleep, I don't wake up with a painful jaw. My dentist claimed that he could see it in my teeth and that he wanted to create one for me, but I created one on my own. I opened the box as soon as it arrived in the mail. I then washed each of the four guards and chose the one I felt fit me best. I placed a glass cup inside the microwave and set the timer for 2.5 minutes. This was my first bruxism dental guard that I could mold. Since I don't have any other examples to use as a comparison, it seems to work nicely. I was able to customize it to fit my teeth by following the directions. I had to re-boil the mold in order to make one section of it thinner because it was too thick in that location. The mouthguard is comfortable for me to wear while sleeping. The taste is the only thing I wish could be a little better. While not unpleasant, the flavor is not minty either. LOL. I'm happy I opted for this as my initial purchase rather than a guard from the dentist, which would have cost more than $200.

I'll present my review in an easy-to-understand Pros and Cons format.PRO: 1) The package I purchased for less than thirteen dollars has ten mouth guards.2) Use over several nights Three times is what the box states. On average, I can use 1 for 7–10 nights.In the morning, I wash with soap, spritz with hydrogen peroxide, and then keep in the tiny container it comes in.I could definitely use these more nights, but as they wear out from use, they become softer and more malleable, and for me, when they do, I wake up without it in my mouth. It's amazing that some users claim to have used 1 for a year!3) Smaller than other guards I've used, which makes it more comfortable.4) The choice of upper or lower teeth placement. I can only utilize my upper body, though; my lower body worries me out because it seems to "float" around.5) NO BPA.CONS: 1) Weird packaging—extremely clunky plastic case that is far too large to fit 10 tiny guards.2) The little "guard holder" itself has a thin aluminum peel-back tab that makes opening it difficult, especially late at night. Annoying.I continue to give the item 5 stars since it is fantastic!REVISION: January 4, 2019I'm still as pleased as someone who requires a night guard can be almost a year later. I've been using this product for at least ten years, and each upgrade makes it better still. My dentist constructed a custom tooth guard for me when I was a child; it cost a lot of money ($100s, as I recall), and it only lasted for about a year. I chose to purchase one of these for about $20 after determining it was way too much to pay. Now, they last for well over a year before needing replacement. They are snugly fitting and have no impact on your sleep. The formed component ultimately breaks from the flexible plastic outer guard, but it takes months for that to happen, and until then, you can still use it. The secret to keeping it hygienic and clean is to brush it completely each time you brush your teeth. If you don't have any unusual dental issues, you can ignore the advise to not wear anything more than six months. Other than bruxism, I don't (teeth grinding).One piece of advice: practice positioning the new mouth guard a few times before heating it and inserting it between your teeth to ensure perfect alignment. Simply because I have more confidence in it, I heat it on the stovetop in water rather than in the microwave.The second piece of advice is to not bite down excessively and to allow just enough space in front of your front teeth for some silicone to remain there as you bear down with your bite after heating the mouth guard correctly (follow all the directions). A mouth guard's lifespan will be significantly shortened if you bite down too firmly and impact the flexible plastic outer guard. This will weaken the silicone's binding to the outside guard. Consider biting down with more pressure on your front teeth than on your back teeth because the majority of the grinding and wear occurs on your rear teeth, where you want a little more "cushion" than in the front. I know that sounds strange, but give it a try and you'll understand what I mean.The third piece of advice is to hold your bite on the new mouth guard until the instructions tell you to let go, and then slowly remove it from your teeth. You don't want to pull crowns off as you remove it because it will initially want to stick. If necessary, rinse your mouth out with a little water before removing the mouthguard from your teeth.If something doesn't work the first time, you can try again, but it usually won't fit or last as long, so get it right the first time! Practice!

fits my mouth snugly and remains in place. I misplaced my excellent mouth guard that my dentist had prepared.This boil and bite method works wonderfully, although it does require a few tries. Fortunately, you can boil it again and try again if you make a mistake. Because it is soft, it will obviously not last for years. However, it is a tenth of what my dentist charged for a mouth guard. The "pro dental guard" is more comfortable than the guards my dentist produced, and you can make a lot of them. I would still prefer a dentist-made guard if I had the money, but I don't. I intend to get additional thevpro guards so that I will have four or five that will last me for years. Before you find one good guard, plan on three to four failures. Due to years of teeth grinding without guards, I've learnt to boil for a shorter period of time and push firmly both inside and outside. The first boil and bite product I've used that genuinely lasts all night is the pro guard.
