I'm overjoyed! NO assembly was required. This step stool, which seems more like a ladder to me, is shipped in a flat box and unfolds as seen in the picture. effortlessly folds back into a tiny, flat position for storage. This piece of machinery is large and nicely built. I don't feel like my feet are hanging over the edge of the steps since they are wide and deep enough, and the heavy duty rubber on each step adds to my sense of security. To be honest, I'm terrified of heights, but the rounded top holder bar makes me feel secure. The project tray on top, which has a closed compartment and screwdriver-holes, is really useful. This stool is the ideal height (number of steps) for me to access top shelves in my cabinets without feeling unsafe. I still think of it as a small ladder. Large feet have rubber pads for further security. It was a bit heavy for this small elderly lady to handle, but that is actually a good thing because it is steel and not cheaply built. My kitchen cabinets and closets are very tall, reaching the ceiling, and I live in a beautiful pre-war building (which is also high). I had a "painters" ladder that was too high and a two-stepper that was too low, but this one is exactly right. I felt like I was in Goldilocks and the Three Bears. It was mentioned in multiple reviews as being too hefty and difficult to open. It is heavier than some people may be used to, but it isn't THAT much heavier, and, to be honest, that's one of the reasons I have such faith in the way it was built. Regarding any reported issues with opening or shutting this step ladder, I came to two conclusions. First off, the rubberized ends of each leg are wider than the normal step ladder, which could initially create some "drag" before you recognize it and adjust how you move it during closing. BUT that also reflects how I feel about its superior build, so that's wonderful! Second, FINALLY a step ladder with a release latch, knob, or lever that actually moves the step ladder's closing mechanism in the right direction. YEAH!!! My two-step stepladder has been in my possession for more than ten years, yet I still forget which way is "open" and which is "close" LOL!!! The height and width are great for where it is stored in my apartment, so I think it's a little bit of a trade off. However, this is the only drawback and the reason I did not give it five stars. I do wish the back came up a little higher. Oh, and did I mention that it folds almost completely flat? I made a 3-pointer with my shot! It's a winner, with the exception of a tiny bit of hesitation about the back not being higher. I feel secure, grounded, and overall, I wouldn't be happier if I were twins!

We were quite dissatisfied when we first bought a step stool from a Big Box retailer. Due to its uneven legs, the stool wobbled when it was unfolded and felt flimsy. When standing at the top, the straight back and handle restricted your ability to use the top step fully and uncomfortable squeezed against your legs. We returned it and placed an order for this.We are overjoyed with the purchase. The Delxo stool has a high-quality build and a strong feel about it. When open, stool is securely grounded. In addition to offering plenty of space for legs or seating on the top step, the curved, foam-covered chair back and handle also shields the walls while kept in our closet. Each step's substantial vinyl and rubber covers ensure secure, non-slip footing when in use. Since it arrived, we have used it multiple times for painting and decorating tasks as well as a quick extra chair when guests arrived. At 270 pounds, I'm a big guy, and this stool gives me a more stable working platform than the short 3-step ladder I was previously using.I would have awarded this step stool five stars in the "Easy to Fold" area, but the release mechanism should be made more user-friendly. Release of it requires some getting used to. It would have been preferable if the catch had been spring-loaded and could be released by a bar, tab, or button. Let me first say that as I have never bought a ladder before, I have no comparisons to make. I've never utilized a ladder; instead, I've only used stools, many chairs stacked in perilous configurations, or I've determined the request *really* didn't need to be completed.But a fan light bulb went out after we had bought a home with 15- and 22-foot ceilings. To save having to bring a bar chair and a set of step stools, I actually got this for face painting, and it served that purpose nicely. The kids can easily ascend the steps on their own and sit down. The majority of adults can fit comfortably in the seat's width, and given the weight limits, I have no concerns about parents carrying little children on their laps. The handle's outward curl is a great touch. When folded, it clears my hip and leaves more room on the seat. I can also rest it on my shoulder like a purse. Just watch out that kids don't recline onto the back; they could tumble out the back if they do. High-quality, grooved grip rubber is used on the stairs, and I don't believe it will lift.I had to deduct a star for a few reasons. It is somewhat heavy. It almost made me wish it were made of aluminum. If it were, I assume it wouldn't support as much weight as it does, but if I have to walk very far, my shoulder starts to bother, and it's a little awkward to load into the back of the car. Although it won't be an issue for everyday use, an older person may find it difficult to lift and store due to its weight.Second, a little gravity latch that appears to be at the wrong spot at the wrong time but is actually made of aluminum and is currently bent is located under the seat. I have to tilt the ladder down approximately 45 degrees in order to fold it, and if you're not careful, it could provide a pinching threat. This ladder appears to be composed of high-quality materials and to be quite strong. To protect the lovely white paint work on the ladder, it arrived from the factory carefully protected inside shrink wrap and a box. The brace bars and hinges are entirely made of shiny chrome. The locking mechanism may seem a little flimsy to my personal taste, but it still accomplishes its goal. Every time you open and close the ladder, you must manually move the small locking hook; it does not do so on its own. Perhaps the reason it is viewed as safer is that it requires manual labor. When you open the ladder, if the safety hook is not first moved out of the way and then correctly engaged manually, you run the risk of bending the hook when you place weight on the ladder. Although it does not detract from the ladder's overall quality, be aware of it. I've found it to be a touch heavier than I prefer after using it a few times. The actual steps are also smaller than I would like. This can support 330 lbs. The next time, I would probably choose a ladder with a safety rating of 200–250 lbs. to have a little lighter handle weight.

A 6 footer that was LONG overdue for the dump required a replacement ladded, thus I needed one. It's remarkable how often I mistakenly convinced myself that I could "get by" by utilizing that old, slightly bent metal ladder. For me, $100 is not something that comes easily, and ladders are at best "spuratic" in terms of importance. But at my age, a single trip to the emergency room would cost at least $100.So I started comparing all fiberglass "type1A" ladders made by the usual big-name manufacturers to see which offered the best value. I also compared Werner's 6 foot models because I already own a wonderful Werner 12 foot model. Due of its slightly lower price, I kept comparing this Louisville to the others when I saw it to make sure I was understanding all the ratings, certifications, and features in full.Since shipping a ladder was obviously going to add some substantial cash to the total, I was initially exclusively using Amazon and the internet for buying. So, initially, I believed I'd be making the real purchase in a big-box retailer. Surprisingly, ordering locally from brick and mortar stores was more expensive than doing it online (especially considering tax).Anyway, after comparing the players, this model continued to excite me. It truly is the best in its class that I looked at (or at least as good as the top). I placed my order after realizing it was a Prime item. I am not an expert in ladder design, but I checked it out right away as a DIYer using common sense. It's a pretty comfortable platform to work from because to its supporting struts, tooling aids, sturdy feel, and just generally confident stance when set up. I won't reiterate the bells and whistles since the advertisement sufficiently lists them. I will say that this is one sturdy little ladder despite it is relatively light.I don't know if Louisville is "less-known" compared to other names used by contractors. However, I consider this ladder to be a "good deal" at this moment, regardless of the reason it is being sold for this price.
