The blade is fantastic on its own. You can quickly distinguish between a new blade and a used one after using a worn-down blade for some time.Unfortunately, a cotter pin is intended to be included with these to retain the blade in place. I chose to utilize the spare edger that I had purchased when I first got it. However, future replacements will necessitate (a number of?) trips to my neighborhood hardware store in order to find the right-sized cotter pin by trial and error. Not optimal.

Just got this in the mail today, followed the instructions, added the oil and new gas, pumped the rubber button 20 times, and it started right up on the 3rd pull. I let it warmed up for 30 to 60 seconds, and it edged my driveway quite well. Seems that I had more than enough power. I was skeptical when I bought this, due to the mix reviews, but so far so good.There was a review I read, stating that it doesn't edge well, but I beg to differ. Feel free to take a look at my photo to show how well it did first try. I did set the depth gauge back 3 from the deep edge cut, so it wouldn't tear up my semi wet lawn. Looks like I can finally throw my other electric cord edger away!I'll be curious to see the life span of this tool. I'll update if anything changes, but so far so good.

My wife frequently requests that I use our weed wacker, despite the fact that I have never edged our lawn before. The weed wacker is really ineffective. I decided to try using an actual edger. Worx is simple to assemble. Three simple screws were put together in less than five minutes. 1 to assemble and lock in the adjustable handle, and 2 to fully assemble the handle. With the "sidewalk edge guide," which extends downward and enables you to acquire a good even edge/line, the actual edging is also a breeze. You can also change the depth of the edge, and even though I had never done it before, I quickly learned that you should start with the shallowest setting before moving to a deeper one ( if required). With an electric edger, your only real power source restriction is the length of your own extension chord. With this edger, my yard will look even nicer than it does when I use my Ryobi string trimmer. I can also use it in the "cracks" to pull out tough weeds because of my driveway and walkways. Despite the fact that it stirs up a lot of sand and debris, the completed product has a professional appearance once I use my Ryobi air blower.I'll be set once I figure out how to edge flower beds with it properly.

I bought this edger because it includes a centrifugal clutch and a throttle that allows it to operate at a lower speed occasionally (only engages edger blade when throttle is increased). All the others I could locate with throttles cost around $500 and lacked a centrifugal clutch. It has a 5 year warranty with a standard 9 inch blade that is competitively priced and available from various vendors.The directions and assembly were challenging, according to several reviews. Before starting the assembly, I carefully read all of the directions. The directions were better than most I have come across, even though some of the parts were difficult to hold and fasten. Maybe they've changed since those reviews were published.After adding fuel and oil, the engine started right away and idled smoothly. After a brief period of inactivity, it ran smoothly at full speed. I used it on the lawn, and it worked just as well as any of the several earlier edgers I've owned over the years. It has a solid, hefty feel (mostly engine weight).It should last for numerous seasons, in my opinion.

Ok so here it goes, I never take the time to write a review but I felt I had to with all these mixed crazy reviews, so the blade turns in the right direction, yes sometimes it won't start when it's warm or if you've used it for a while but that's only because sometimes while your using the machine the choke lever slides to the on position it's just a little loose, so just always check before starting it again while it's warm that the choke is off that's all

When I used to sell power equipment, I never ventured into the electric or battery-powered equipment market. To be honest, I was hesitant to utilise these things.
