Felco Pruning Shears (F 13) - High Performance Swiss Made One-Hand or Two-Hand Garden Pruner with Steel Blade Review:

I have extra-large gloves on. I'm over six feet tall, and my hands are the right size for my frame.People like me or the Hobbit type are the target market for these pruners (those with disproportionately sized hands). With one hand, I can hold a branch that is approximately one inch in diameter. I can handle branches that are 3/4 inch in diameter without worrying that I'll drop the clippers. I'm more worried that I'll have to stoop over to pick up the clippers than I am actually "afraid" I'll drop them.We have blueberry farms. Lilac dead wood is easier to cut than blueberry dead wood. If you reside in the South and are unsure of what Lilac is, it is a decorative shrub that has a hardness that is comparable to metal. I leave off. After clipping a few hundred blueberries with my brand-new Felco 13s (I replace my clippers every year because my wife poses the old ones in secret places about the property at some point each summer, offering them to the pruning Gods), My hands were weary, but I clipped perhaps 50 more plants in an afternoon than I ever had before (I recently found her offering from 2007 - swivel handle Felco 7's; regrettably, their vitality had been extracted by the Gods).Big hands and outstanding Felco quality make them the clippers for you if you have to use pruners for prolonged periods of time (which forces you to confess you're not smarter than me). Perhaps the finest feature is that they're too big for your wife to use.

Makita XMU04Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Grass Shear, Tool Only Review:

While this tool is excellent, It is fantastic, and I use it a lot! The grass and the Blue Rug Juniper that interacts can both be cut short by its strength. The grass-Japanese Garden Juniper and grass-Euonymus interfaces both receive the same treatment from me. I also have a length of black plastic garden edging of roughly 250 feet. The minor issue is right here. I was holding the device with the long handle attachment while resting it on the grass-catching attachment at the bottom. I simply move the unit along the 250 feed of edging after that! It simply requires a few minutes! Well, it just took a short while. After three or four uses, the "ears" on the plastic grass-catching device simply fell off! Okay, was this particular part weak or was the tension from sliding over plastic too great? Part 2: Online Makita support would only tell me to take it to a facility that had been given the go-ahead to service it. A service center is where? Not at all. The two service centers nearest to me that were mentioned on the Makita website were no longer affiliated with Makita when I called them. Each of them used more harsher language. So keep in mind that a company that primarily produces construction tools produced this garden gadget. In other words, a Stihl does not support and encourage its distributors. The device is strong and has a short cutting time, which are the major reasons I suggest it, but the guarantee will only be helpful in the event of a catastrophic failure.

We used these every day for our business. I prefer these to power trimmers. I was disappointed that I couldn't order another pair. These shears are working very nicely. I had a little trouble at first with the button that adjusts the handle lengths. The screw was loose and the side handle kept lengthening on me.

Fiskars 92146964J Swivel Soft Touch Grass Shear, 360 Degrees Review:

I couldn't wait to get outside and take on the d*mn Bermuda grass in my flower bed once these came. Between the lawn and our foundation plantings, there is a modest stone wall. There is grass all over. It's a never-ending battle to weedeat, spray, and mulch. This pair of Fiskars Sheer Ease Grass Shears is yet another weapon. It's difficult to cut this grass. My electric grass shears are not as good as these Fiskars ones. I can use these to take a large quantity of grass, cut through it at ground level, and throw it away (makes good chicken bedding). Even though I am quite small, these shears nonetheless fit in my palm and allow me to easily cut through this tough grass. I also have Fiskers pruners available to get rid of any weeds I encounter.I can't work for too long due to a terrible back and knee, but it's simple to get outside and work on a bit at a time. The next step is to mulch with cardboard sheets.

Fiskars Power-Lever Grass Shears (3 Units) Review:

For many years, my father used these shears, and I recall watching him sharpen the blades in the shop before the grass-cutting season. He would always conclude the job by slicing up a sheet of newspaper to demonstrate how sharp they are. and to always use caution when handling my fingers! I was intending to get the same shears as my father, but since the blades are described as being 5 inches long, they cannot be the same shears! after looking through the fantastic Amazon collection and unable to locate any additional Fiskars grass shears. I purchased a set after acknowledging that fashions change. Surprise! My dad's grass shears are here! I measured the blades first, and sure enough, they were 7.5 inches long and so sharp that they could cut through newsprint. I'd like to thank Fiskars for maintaining a fantastic design and for bringing back wonderful memories each time I use them.

Fiskars 36 Inch Long-Handle Swivel Grass Shears (92107935J), Black/Orange Review:

When you have any little yard trimming to accomplish, these Fiskars 9210 Long-Handled Swivel Grass Shears will literally save stress and tear on both your back and knees. These are not intended for trimming grass around the perimeter of a sizable yard because doing so would cause your hand to become sore from gripping the handle. We clip the grass next to the fence all around our yard using an electric string trimmer. These Fiskars Grass Shears are ideal for trimming everything else in the yard, including around the house, garage, shrubs, trees, sidewalks, patio, gardens, corners, and utility poles.Although the grass is continually growing around everything in our yard, even though these shears are designed to trim grass and lighter plants rather than anything heavy, they are constantly in use. There is never any bending or stooping with the 3 foot height. You can turn the blades to any angle you need using the orange turning device on the blades. The blades actually complete a 360-degree rotation. The 5-inch blades lock for storage or use when spinning them and are thoroughly hardened for sustained sharpness. We observed that the blades themselves indeed arrive with a little coating of oil. When I contacted Fiskars to inquire about the blades' upkeep, they advised that while they should stay sharp for years, you might eventually give them a sharper edge with a hand sharpening similar to one used for lawn mower blades. When they get dirty, clean them and lightly oil them to maintain them cutting perfectly. In fact, Fiskars offers a lifetime warranty against any manufacturing flaws. These are a must for me to save my back and knees from the constant upkeep of yard work and cost less than $35.00. I have always had poor knees, so these are not just for the elderly. I wish I had known about them years ago!I didn't want to do it because it involved pruning the yard's continual grass. Depending on the height of the grass or weeds, I would need to pull out my little shears, my knee pad, or a stool to sit on. After that, I'd need my heating pad, liniment, and Aleve or another pain reliever for my sore knees and back. I dreaded trimming since I had to spend so much time in discomfort. Now, all I have to do is grab the Fiskars Long Handled Shears, stand, and trim. These shears are far more valuable than 5 STARS, and I am certain that I will never be without them again since protecting my knees and back is priceless.

Is it better to edge or mow first?

It's a matter of personal preference, but many people find it easier to mow first and then edge. This allows you to mow right up to the edge of the lawn without having to worry about hitting the edging tool.

Is it better to mow fast or slow?

It really depends on the condition of your lawn and how often you mow. If you have a lot of leaves or twigs, it's best to go slowly so you don't clog up the blades. If you have a healthy lawn and just need to do a quick touch-up, you can go a bit faster.

Should I edge every time I mow?

No definitive answer exists, but the general consensus seems to be that edging once per week is sufficient. Of course, more frequent edging may be necessary if your lawn is growing quickly or if you have high standards for lawn care.

Should you cut grass in the same direction?

It's generally recommended that you alternate the direction you mow your lawn each time you cut the grass. This helps prevent grass from getting matted down from being repeatedly cut in the same direction.

What are the best shears for cutting grass?
