It was delivered in a vacuum-sealed package with no odor, fluffed up right away, and was usable the same day without any cleaning or sun exposure. The skirt is really roomy and tucks in pretty deeply beneath my 18-inch mattress, so it would most likely suit thicker ones as well. No moving or bunching; flawlessly maintains position. Although I wouldn't call it cooling, the fabric is quite comfortable, and the bottom is made of cotton rather than the papery stuff seen on some tops. It has been in use for approximately 10 days, and I have not yet noticed any flattening. Because it is so thick, I had some difficulty putting the fitted sheet on. I enjoy the sensation of laying on something plush over a firm foundation. In front-loading washers, you can wash and dry it. All of that changed when I contracted the illness and confined myself in the guest bedroom in the hopes that my husband wouldn't get sick. I got up the following morning determined to come up with a solution without having to buy a brand-new mattress for that room. I decided to give this kind of mattress topper a try after reading some positive reviews; at worst, we would lose $40. It came in a vacuum-sealed container through the mail. According to the directions, the topper should be opened, laid flat, and let up to 24 hours to expand to its full size. I observed that it changed from being thin and empty to thick and filled in less than 30 minutes. It may have been out of the package for 8 to 10 hours at most because I waited till that evening to go to sleep on it. It was a MASSIVE change. I had the impression that I was lying on a brand-new, high-quality mattress. I slept on it for an extra two nights until I felt better and was prepared to return to my own bed. Despite my best attempts, my hubby ended up becoming ill. He stayed in the guest bedroom for a couple of nights so that his sniffling and coughing wouldn't keep me awake, and while there, he observed how much more comfortable the mattress is now that we have the memory foam topper. I hope it maintains its quality; if after a few months I find it is no longer performing well, I will update my evaluation. Remember that it may take some time for the memory foam to assume its natural shape after someone has been sitting or lying in the bed. Don't anticipate it to quickly rise to two inches since it won't. Other than that, the minimal expense it took to make a bed more comfortable to sleep on was worthwhile.

I studied the reviews before making my mattress pad purchase. I read a few passages from each star rating, but just from the ones with one star, and I search for patterns. I was particularly interested to learn that the pad may split down the middle or in other places. With the exception of the aroma being gone, which was not a problem for me at all, mine hasn't changed at all and has remained precisely as it was when it initially arrived. What I will say is that it transformed the least comfortable mattress I have ever slept on into one that is really comfy. Now, in response to all the unfavorable comments, I choose to mark one corner with a black marker. Now that I move it around the mattress every time I change my sheets (which just takes 5 seconds), I think that's why my pad has kept its form. This brief post should be helpful. I'll get to that bit later because as I start to write this, I realize that I must avoid seeming corny. I got this topper for my king-size bed two years ago, and not only is it still flawless in every aspect, but it has also endured far more testing than most people could ever imagine—and sadly not in the way some dirty minds may assume, LOL, but rather in a completely different way. Yes, I immediately went out and bought a very thin, water-resistant mattress cover to cover it; in fact, I'm on my third of those, just to be careful. As my mattress was so incredibly hard and uncomfortable, I must now state that this mattress topper completely altered my life, especially how well I slept. I'll undoubtedly get the identical one if it ever goes out because it has been tried and true and is unlike any other. I haven't done it yet, LOL. I recently looked at the $499 king-size My Pillow mattress topper out of curiosity, and I wasn't impressed at all, especially for such an outrageous price. However, I'll only dwell on that for long enough to say that (1) I detest their straps that are supposed to keep it in place, (2) they would always get in the way when changing linens, and (3) the incredibly deep, sturdy, and stretchy fitted skirt that my Sleep Innovations one has - has never once popped off. Not what dirty minds would be thinking, once more, lol. No, I manage a no-kill dog shelter/rescue with more than 300 dogs. I didn't want to let my NINE be put to death, so I brought them home because it is nearly impossible to find new homes for adult pit bulls that have been rescued because most people believe they are nasty, unpredictable, and might turn on them. They have all finally wound up on my bed, and I always allow 4 or so of them to sleep with me each and every night because I am an older single man without a partner to scream at me. Now, if their repeatedly subjecting this topper to torture by pressing their incredibly powerful feet down and deeply into it is not the ideal and supreme test of its long-term resilience, then nothing else could possibly be. Yes, I'm telling you that this Sleep Innovations mattress topper is still fantastic after all of this and after two years. Despite adding the thin, water-resistant guards to safeguard this topper, I must also note that I took the liberty of having the fiber-fill topper component professionally laundered twice, and it still looks completely excellent and is just as comfy as when it was fresh new. I bought this mattress because it had so many positive ratings.Just let me mention how amazing this Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper is. I ought to have bought a long time ago. I never want to get out of bed, which is the one negative thing I can say about this. It's quite cozy. I have a queen-sized bed with a pillow-top mattress already. The memory foam mattress fits my sheets a touch snugly, but they still provide excellent coverage. In order to experience the full comfort of the memory foam mattress beneath me when I'm in bed, I also removed my mattress pad protector. I left the mattress out for at least 24 hours (I couldn't wait 48 since I wanted to use it so badly..), and the initial scent did fade away rapidly, as many other reviews and the directions state. Once it is under your blankets, there is absolutely no smell. The best aspect is that I could purchase this Prime and that it was decently priced. I've been using this foam mattress for about two months, and every time I move, the mattress springs back to its previous position. Prepare for a restful night's sleep!

A pro advice for owners of large dogs, numerous dogs, or dogs with joint problems is to get a mattress topper like this and cut it into personalized dog beds rather than shelling out a fortune for pricey, subpar dog beds.I personally cut the 3in twin topper in thirds, made covers out of a waterproof mattress cover (although I've since learned you can buy waterproof dog bed covers), and wrapped the sections in old flat sheets until I make fancy outer covers. I did this after waiting for the 3in twin topper to drop to around $30. I received three out of this for the cost of one good bed from Petco.The topper itself appears to be of pretty high quality. It didn't absolutely need the extra time when I let it air out and expand on a table for a few days as I waited for crafting supplies to arrive, but it seemed to fall just a few inches short of a standard twin size, but that seems relatively typical for toppers. The plushness has a wonderful feel, and it takes a little while for it to take on the shape of memory foam. The fragrance does appear to remain, but it's no stronger than the smell of a brand-new bed, and if you air it out and cover it with blankets, sheets, and mattress coverings, etc., it shouldn't be visible to people (it doesn't bother my dogs at all). I also keep one of these homemade dog beds behind my desk, and I've noticed that when I put my feet on it, it does appear to get rather warm (because it is super comfy).
