Because it was a bit pricey, I was a little hesitant to buy this leaf lard, but after reading all the positive reviews, I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did because this product is wonderful, has the best taste, is odorless, and the texture is very soft and smooth easy to spread on piece of toast or to use it however you please. I love this lard; the price is high, but it's well worth it for the quality of the lard. I am so glad I purchased this lard because I had been searching for alternatives for my omega 3 the good fat. For the pickiest birds to ever gorge themselves at a feeder, I prepare "gourmet" suet cakes. While the majority of them will (ultimately, grudgingly) consume bought suet cakes, others simply fly by to see what's in the suet feeder, check it out, and then take off again if it's not the good stuff. Because I couldn't find beef suet locally, I used to render it myself. This required ordering a large quantity of fat from the butcher in advance, picking it up after work, grinding it, heating it, then packing it once it cooled. That was a lot of labor for something that, by the time I was done, really didn't amount to anything. It still took a long time to complete, even after I explained to the butcher what I did with the fat and he thought it was such a beautiful gesture for the birds that he ground the fat for me, saving me a step. I thought it would be fun to see whether someone was selling inexpensive food-grade beef tallow on Amazon. I discovered it, and not just a little bit either. An 8 pound bucket instead! Making their suet cakes took a *lot* less time, which made me very happy.

I've never been "afraid" of being obese! I'm definitely on some lists in the realm of the "Fat Police." The rich and ancient fragrances of fresh meat and fats were a part of my personal and culinary history because I was born and raised on a dairy farm where we also bred pigs, chickens, and ducks. I have therefore been searching Amazon and its speciality suppliers for high-quality renderings of beef and pork fat. One ingredient in the'secret recipe' for the traditional McDonald's french fries was this beef tallow. When I pan-fried "spiral sliced" potatoes with this tallow, the flavor was excellent. I admit that the fat was not the only "secret," even if I was a "early adoptive" of McDonald's. But Yorkshire Pudding's distinctive component is beef tallow. Sadly, this tallow can only come close to providing the clear beef suet necessary for making "traditional" Christmas steaming puddings. Although it is not "cheap," this does provide high-quality, healthful flavor and a way to give contemporary (too lean) cuts of beef a "beefy" flavor. It is a crucial component of the famous beef stew that my restaurant-owning grandfather makes.

You can buy pure lard, but my grocery does not sell any, so I chose this. Next is lard and hydrogenated lard. adore it My grandfather, who was born in 1909 on a farm in South Dakota, used to rave about the homemade bread my mother baked and how he would smear lard on it as soon as it came out of the oven. I believe he was referring to Crisco.You can either use butter, another natural fat that our bodies need for optimum health, to fry your food. Fry with lard instead of your disgusting canola and vegetarian oil. greater cost? Undoubtedly, but a little grease goes a long way. Attempt this for potatoes: Cast iron skillet with a tablespoon of lard, preheated to medium-high. Slice two potatoes anyway you like, season whatever you like (I like sea salt, garlic, dried chiles, and paprika), toss them in, and cook for approximately 10 minutes while reducing the heat to medium. Start the broiler while you are cooking. Add more paprika and cook under the broiler for 5 minutes or until well browned, as desired. You'll wonder how you ever cooked using anything else after taking the first mouthful. Give your body the animal fats it was made to ingest. I also quickly stir-fry vegetables that are almost done in my cast iron pan. I only need an eighth of a cup or less to prepare 24 ounces of vegetables. However, nothing beats the taste of hush puppies, chicken, fish, or french fries. Try it.

U.S.b) The containers are HDPE #2 containers that are U.S. food grade.b) The advertised weight of the net contents is accurate.Prior to making a purchase, I emailed the seller through Amazon to ask about weights and sealing. Was reassured that the sealing has improved and the weights are accurate. on August 4, 2019. Container's top is sealed under the lid. There are no sealing difficulties because the entire container is wrapped to prevent unscrewing and any potential damage to the top seal.The color is a rich, yellowish hue, and there are no noticeable imperfections to the eye.The fact that ALL cattle are "grass-fed" ultimately results in the bitter, sour, wild-animal flavor that pure grass-fed animals lack.
