This year, I utilized it on a mule deer hunt, and it made hauling much simpler. The handle is wide enough for two men to each grab a hold of it or for you to drag with both hands. Most of the time, it prevented the bucks' antlers from snagging in the sagebrush, which is often quite challenging to drag through. I expect to use this on numerous next hunts because it seems sturdy.

I've tried a variety of gambrel brands, but none of them come close to this one's level of quality and usability. It was very simple for me to pull my buck into the air on my own thanks to the brilliant locking mechanism for one-man lifts. With very little effort, I was able to unlatch and re-latch to vary height during the processing of my deer. The locking mechanism is quite wonderful.High-quality construction was used. The rope is of exceptionally high quality, the metal is robust, and the carabiners are a terrific addition. There truly aren't any drawbacks that I can think of and I can easily see this gambrel being the only one I ever need to buy.I don't fully understand the reviewer who said it was difficult to pull. This one is without a doubt the simplest of all the ones I've used. You can easily obtain the 4:1 mechanical advantage if you just watch out that the ropes aren't twisted while you're lifting. You will struggle if you start to twist the ropes.Even the packing was fantastic, so you can tell these guys really care about producing a high-quality product!

wonderful tiny systemI bought mine to use as a light-duty hoist to help lift and support a rooftop freight box to the garage ceiling. At that point, it operates flawlessly.Nice and easy to use, the cable brake system. To keep the rope in place, it pinches it. This is not something I would put in place and anticipate holding a load for a long time. But holding onto the cord for a little period of time will undoubtedly work.On both ends of the hoist, there are incorporated carabiner shackles, which I particularly appreciate. These clips have a notched gate that doesn't quite lock. They ought to be capable, I anticipate.Although I have no use for it, the gambrel attachment seems to be well crafted and able to withstand whatever abuse a weekend hunter would give it.The pulley sheaves are the only thing I can think of to comment about. Two issues are present. First off, these are made of plastic and by no means the pinnacle of component quality. A little burr on one of the sheaves on my unit gives the impression that it could nick the rope and speed up the unit's doom. I'll most likely sand it down with some high-grit paper before calling it a day. The friction from the sheaves to their axel is also extremely high. Without a doubt, this makes lifting require more force. But what can one reasonably anticipate for $25?Overall, I believe it is worth the cost, although it is not something I would plan to leave to my descendants.

I purchased a side-by-side to replace my old ATV during the summer. I immediately learned that loading a huge game animal over the rack of a four-wheeler is a little easier than loading one into the rear of a SxS. My first deer was a large one for our region, so I was seeking for a simpler method after struggling to load him into a bed that is far over my waist height.I discovered it using this hoist. It's really easy to put together, and it can be simply disassembled into two pieces to fit in the truck bed or the SxS. After receiving another deer a few days later, the load was considerably simpler, excepting some initial user error on my part.This hoist is quite sturdy and has a ball bearing that makes it simple to swivel even when it is only a few hundred pounds. To make it simpler to swing the animal, I suggest adjusting it to the highest setting. Rotate, winch it up, and pull the pin. You are stocked.It includes a gambrel, which is quite useful for off-season hog hunts where I have to clean the animals on the spot.The only drawback I can think of is how cumbersome and heavy it is to transport. It barely weighs about 50 pounds, but those 50 pounds are not comfortable. Although having a friend assist you in throwing up on the bed is easier, if you're on your own it's a useful tool and well worth the money.

I must admit that I didn't have big expectations given the price ($97). But this stuff definitely caught me off guard. I was strong and simple to put together. A huge doe and a 275 lb. hog are processed there after I set it up. I was dubious about the hog, but it handled it superbly. Both the winch and the 360-degree mobility are fantastic. The spikes are mine, but I haven't used them yet. I'm happy with my purchase and heartily endorse it. It will likely continue to be my go-to hoist for many years. The one and only suggestion would be to add a tray to one of the legs to hold tools for processing game, such as knives and skinners. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent goods.

This superb rig was constructed from high-quality components. It performed perfectly in the field and above my expectations.Even though getting things like this online can be a little unsettling, they are far superior to anything I could have found in my neighborhood shops.The on-package depiction was a little shaky, making the brake setup a little challenging. However, in essence, you rig your block and tackle. By:1) Secure the lower portion of the top pulley with a secure knot so that the rope descends directly to the lower pulley.2) After passing the rope through a pulley at the lower block, you return to the higher block.3) After passing the rope through a pulley at the upper block, return to the lower block.4) Return to the higher block after passing the rope through the second pulley at the bottom block.5) *This is the crucial step — feed the rope through the final open pulley so that it passes through the yellow metal eyelet (brake) loop as it leaves the block and hangs freely. You will lift using this portion of the free-hanging rope. It may be that you started the rope through on the top block from the wrong side if you are unable to leave the top pulley and descend via the brake eyelet. If so, the best course of action is to simply untie everything except the knot at the top block and twist the upper block 180 degrees, which will cause the rope to exit the top block directly over and pass through the brake eyelet.The hoist rope flows easily through the brake when the rope is pulled out and away from the rig to lift.To secure, bring the hoisting rope closer to the rig until it is almost beneath it. Then, release tension such that the rope just barely slips and seans into the brake. The hoist rope will rise up and lock into position if you keep letting it go.

For me, Hoist worked well. I used it to raise a 250-pound milling machine to the top of the workbench. It was simple for me to lift the machine up on my own and use a friend to help me position it. As previously noted in the review, I did put silicone on the pulley shafts. I just happened to have a can of it, but spray oil would have done just as well, in my opinion. Excellent value and highly recommended.
